Story
Hey there, my name is Machiavelli, or Machi for short! I`m a high-octane guy who loves to play and GO! I`d make an excellent running buddy and hiking companion for my future owner since I like nothing more than to be out and about on adventures regularly. I can settle nicely at home with my people once my exercise needs are met. I need a home without kids though, as I can be very exuberant with how I show affection. Preferably, I`d be an only fur-child, but can have doggie playdates with other dogs that can keep up with my enthusiasm for play and activity. I find cats to be just TOO much fun to chase, so a home without them would be best. I`m food motivated, and learning new things is a breeze for me since I`m also quite an intelligent guy, if I do say so myself! If I sound like a good fit for you and your family, please call the kennel staff at (413) 447-7878 ext.126 to find more about how to adopt me!

Story
Venice is a gentle 6-year-old 40-lb husky who spent the past 10 months at the South LA animal shelter. He was placed on the euthanasia list due to severe shelter overcrowding, and my partner and I agreed to take him in as an emergency foster. We are in a small space with multiple animals, so we are hoping to find the right family for him locally. He is an absolute sweetheart who loves to get pats and kisses. He bonds closely with 'his people' and would prefer to be constantly in their vicinity; he is quite pack-oriented and friendly with other dogs. He's super playful and energetic, so he would be an excellent fit for someone who is very active. He is very bright and a bit mischievous! We are working on very basic training (including house training), but that work will need to continue. He can get quite anxious (usually about food, separation, or understimulation), which makes him spin like a teacup. What he needs most right now is stability, routine, and lots of love and attention!
