Story
Hello, my name is Shasta. I am as bright and happy as a Shasta Daisy in the spring. I am very social (dogs and people). I have not been cat tested yet, but my foster family thinks I will also be cat social. I wandered up to this lovely lady's home. She has three dogs. All of which I liked very much. I love to hug, play, stay with my people, and talk when I want to share something. I am house-trained, crate-trained, and leash-trained. My foster mom thinks I was dumped because I did not do well on my car ride to my foster family's home. I came nervous. But my foster family thinks with patience and time, and I will see that car rides are just that—car rides.  I would adore hiking, camping, going to the beach, playing in the water, playing in the fallen leaves and snow trails, and making you laugh. But, most of all, I would adore being with you. Whoever had me trained me some, let's try to find out what I know. To begin the adoption process, please request an application from alittlelonger2home@gmail.com. Once you have received your application, please complete it in full, including the email addresses of your three references. Next is the refundable deposit of $200. The deposit indicates your intentions to take me, Shasta. If, for any reason, the adoption is canceled, you will receive a full refund. The first family to put in an application and deposit is the family I will be reserved to adopt me. Story
Simba is a 9-month-old, 50-pound bundle of energy and love, ready to find his forever home! With one striking blue eye and a gentle demeanor, this handsome boy has a big heart to match his growing size. He’s a great mix of playful and snuggly—perfect for anyone looking for a loving, loyal companion.Simba is currently in a foster home where he’s been showing off his friendly personality. He lives with 7 other dogs ranging from 30lbs and up. He’s great with younger, playful dogs and has a lot of energy to burn. Though he can be a bit too much for older dogs at times, he’s learning boundaries and responds well when corrected. While he’s not a fan of the crate yet, Simba is housebroken and is doing well with his leash training. He’s smart and will thrive with continued training. This sweet boy loves being around people, especially kids! His foster family includes an 8-year-old girl, and Simba has been so gentle and loving with her. He’s also fantastic in the car—he recently laid in his young foster sister’s lap during a long drive.Simba does have some anxiety about being left alone or separated from his people. He loves to be wherever you are and will do his best to stick close. He may try to jump gates or knock them over if he feels left out, but with the right guidance and a little patience, he’s learning to adjust.Simba is a big, fun-loving boy, and in return for your care and training, he’ll reward you with endless loyalty and joy.If you’re looking for a fun, energetic, and loving companion, Simba might be your perfect match!Check out this boy in action:https://youtube.com/shorts/y8wUeP33NtM?si=xhMS6PqWHoERopZUName: SimbaBreed: Husky/Labrador RetrieverSex: MaleAge: 9 months (estimated)Weight: 50lbSpayed/Neutered: YesVaccinations: Up to dateHeartworm: Negative on recent testing Microchipped: YesBASED ON OUR OBSERVATIONS:Good with Children: 5+Good with Dogs: YesGood with Cats: UnknownAdoption Fee: $500.00  (includes transport fee when applicable)Location of dog currently:  Memphis  TN IMPORTANT INFORMATION - Paws New England is a foster-based rescue - our dogs reside in various locations throughout the south and New England.  Adoption donations cover pre-adoption vet costs (including vaccinations, spay/neuter when age appropriate, and heartworm testing/treatment when necessary), a microchip, and transportation to New England if necessary.Donations for our young, healthy puppies and dogs support their fellow canines of advanced age or suffering from injuries and abuse whose donations are reduced but whose veterinary costs are typically much higher. Story
Meet Handsome Oscar!Oscar is an active, sweet, and lovable husky with a heart full of resilience and charm. He was found running through a southern neighborhood with a broken leg but has made an incredible recovery. After six weeks in a splint, he’s back on his feet, ready for fun, with only a slight limp that should improve over time. Best of all, he has no limitations on his activities!Oscar loves to stay close to his people. His favorite spot during the day is under his foster mom’s desk while she works. He’s a fan of cozy spaces and often naps under or behind furniture. Although crate-trained and happy to use it occasionally, Oscar prefers choosing his own comfy spots to rest. This handsome guy is housetrained with a doggie door, though he’s still learning not to chew on non-dog items. He’ll need supervision and a good supply of chew toys to help him stay on track.Oscar can be skittish around new people, barking and keeping his distance at first. He warms up with time and patience, preferring calm introductions at eye level. Once he feels secure, he’s a snuggle champion who adores petting and attention. He’s not a fan of loud noises but otherwise thrives in a loving, stable environment.Great with other dogs and kids...as fosters grandchildren (1, 3, 7) are with him almost daily and frequently overnight. He enjoys romping around with both his canine foster siblings and the kids, although he can be a bit of a roughhouser when he’s having fun. He’s also learning the art of fetch—he’ll happily retrieve a toy but isn’t quite sure what to do with it yet!Oscar is a sweet, playful soul who just wants to love and be loved. If you have some husky breed experience and are ready for an affectionate companion with a zest for life, Oscar is your guy!Name: OscarBreed: HuskySex: MaleAge: 10 months  (estimated)Weight: 50.0Spayed/Neutered: YesVaccinations: Up to dateHeartworm: Negative on recent testingMicrochipped: YesBASED ON OUR OBSERVATIONS:Good with Children: YesGood with Dogs: YesGood with Cats: YesAdoption Fee: $500.00  (includes transport fee when applicable)Location of dog currently:  Memphis  TN IMPORTANT INFORMATION - Paws New England is a foster-based rescue - our dogs reside in various locations throughout the south and New England. Story
Lumen is an adorable, almost 1-year-old spayed female Husky mix who was found as a stray on the streets of Memphis when she was a baby. Lumen was adopted by a family who decided she wasn't a good match for them after she had a medical issue that has since been resolved - their loss. This girl is a lovebug with a side of chaos! Affectionate to a fault, she’s always ready for a snuggle, but don’t let that fool you—she’s got enough energy to power a small city. She adores other dogs, especially if they’re down for rough-and-tumble play that might resemble a WWE match more than a polite meet-and-greet. She lived with cats in her Tennessee foster home but has not lived with cats for a while now. She’s got a particular dietary need, so you'll need to add some enzymes to her food—because even a wild spirit like hers needs a bit of help digesting all that adventure. The enzymes are not expensive. When it comes to obedience, she’s mastered “sit” and “wait,” but when it’s time for a walk, well, let’s say leash training is still a work in progress—so consider this a “continuing education” opportunity for both of you!Oh, and did we mention she gets motion sickness? Yep, it's only the best road trip if you're cool with frequent pit stops. But with her sweet nature and boundless affection, you’ll forgive the occasional car ride drama!Name: LumenBreed: HuskySex: FemaleAge: 11 months  (estimated)Weight: 40.0Spayed/Neutered: YesVaccinations: Up to dateHeartworm: Negative on recent testingMicrochipped: YesBASED ON OUR OBSERVATIONS:Good with Children: Over 5Good with Dogs: YesGood with Cats: UnknownAdoption Fee: $500.00  (includes transport fee when applicable)Location of dog currently:  ConnecticutIMPORTANT INFORMATION - Paws New England is a foster-based rescue. Story
Ken Local is currently in RI and looking for a 'furever' home! Meet Ken, a resilient 2-year-old Husky who’s ready for a fresh start with a loving, experienced family. Ken’s early life was far from ideal—after escaping multiple times, his former family resorted to chaining him outside behind a business, afraid of what might happen next. Thankfully, rescue stepped in, giving Ken the second chance he deserves. Despite his rough beginning, Ken has a heart full of love for people and other dogs. Like many Huskies, he’s mouthy, talkative, intelligent, and stubborn—but he’s also eager to learn, especially when food is involved! Ken thrives on mental and physical stimulation and would do best with an active, Husky-experienced family that’s ready to continue his training and take him on exciting adventures. Ken needs stability, patience, and plenty of enrichment to show him what a wonderful life with a forever family can be. Are you ready to meet the challenge and welcome this spirited boy into your home? If so, Ken is waiting for you! Story
This is a courtesy posting for another rescue to gain some support for this lovely, readymade dog seeking adoption. Available for transport, she is currently being fostered in Texas by a friend who has fostered many dogs for us in the past, does such a terrific job and is hopeful this sweetheart will have success finding a forever home in New England. "Bambi" is a lovely young husky/shepherd mix girlie, barely a year old, who is lingering not finding a home. It all is rather silly, as she is just so well rounded and readymade. The husband of our friend is a natural born trainer and has put such nice behavior and manners on this willing pupil, as you can see. Bambi is a friendly, active girl who loves her crate, gets along just splendidly with the kids in the house, loves to be and play with other dogs, and has no bad habits to speak of other than just being a young dog. She loves going on daily jogs and taking on new training challenges! The only caution is no cats or small furries for this girl. She was dumped off in the rain in Houston to be saved by a good Samaritan as a young puppy, winding up in rescue, where she has been well cared for, and now needing to find her forever home. Provided she gets plenty of daily exercise, she will fit nicely into a variety of situations, is housebroken, knows her basic commands and is healthy, spayed and perfect. If interested, please contact Lucy at maramuser@gmail.com and I would be happy to connect you with her foster, who has had her since April, knows her like a well read book and can answer any questions you might have. Her adoption fee is $200 plus the cost of transport.
