Story
Meet Luna   Luna is a beautiful and petite 2.5-year-old Husky who has been patiently waiting for her forever home for over a year. Currently in Texas, Luna is looking for a committed adopter to welcome her directly into their home, as a meet-and-greet won’t be possible.   Luna came to us as a mother and saw both of her puppies adopted long ago. Now, it’s her turn to find a loving family who will give her the life she deserves. Despite her Husky lineage, Luna is surprisingly laid-back and has a calm personality. She’s not a typical barker but loves to “talk” with endearing ooo-ing sounds when she wants something. Luna is mild-mannered indoors and enjoys her playtime outside but doesn’t bounce off the walls when inside.   Here are some highlights about Luna:     •    Great with Other Animals: Luna has lived peacefully with 10 dogs and a dozen cats in her foster home. She loves other dogs but does best when fed separately due to mild food resource guarding, which is easily managed.     •    Leash and Crate Trained: Luna is fine on a leash but, like many Huskies, shouldn’t be trusted off-leash. She’s very crate trained, associates it with food, and will go in willingly with just a simple “Kennel” command.     •    Gentle Personality: Luna isn’t a door darter and has shown herself to be respectful in the home. She doesn’t place much value on toys, making her easygoing with other pets.     •    Mild Energy Level: While Luna enjoys outdoor playtime in a yard, she has a calm demeanor indoors and doesn’t require excessive exercise.   Additional Notes:     •    Luna eats regular dog food and has been crated for car rides.     •    She’s lived with cats but her reactions to small wildlife are unknown.   If you’re looking for a loyal and gentle companion, Luna might be the perfect match! Don’t let her wait any longer—she’s ready to become the newest member of your family.   is up to date on vaccinations and is spayed or neutered. (puppies under the age of 6 months may not be sterilized prior to adoption, if this is the case your adoption coordinator will discuss the process with you). To adopt or learn more about: , you must fill out an adoption application. To find the application, visit our website: WWW.SANDYPAWSRESCUE.COM ** PLEASE READ: If a dog/puppy is listed, then s/he is currently available for adoption. Their information is correct to the best of our abilities and the information we have been given as of the day of posting. In some cases this dog may be pending an adoption already, and their profile has not been updated yet. Please note, SPR does not guarantee the breed of any dog or puppy unless stated otherwise. All breeds listed are educated best estimates by transferring shelter staff, our volunteers or our vets. The dog may have some genetic material of an American Staffordshire Terrier (pit bull). The dogs are usually mixes of many breeds, making them the All American MUTT. Our dogs are rescued from various situations (kill-shelters, owner surrenders, strays, etc). It is most likely that both their parents were strays and mixes of some sort. If you are interested in this dog, you MUST submit an application. Sandy Paws Rescue does not a have a public shelter in Mass, so there is no building you can visit without an appointment. Our dogs live in private foster homes or boarding kennels down south until adopted, and foster care homes through out MV, Cape Cod and other parts of MA. A majority of our dogs are adopted/spoken for prior to transport and release from state mandated isolation. To learn more about our rescue, adoption fees, and procedures, review the list of FAQ’s on our website at WWW.SANDYPAWSRESCUE.COM **The FIRST step in adopting an animal from our rescue is to submit a completed adoption application. ##1655174##

Story
I'm a silly Husky in a compact lil' body! Coming in at only 44 lbs at 2 years old, I'm definitely on the smaller size for my breed. I'm still 100% Husky though - I love to sing, the snow is my favorite place to be, and I'm a total goofball! Plushies are my favorite thing of all, I can entertain myself for hours! Long walks are my other passion, I'm passionate about getting ALL the smells wherever I am! I am pretty pully on the leash, so I'd recommend a bit of training if you're interested in me and want to save your shoulder some wear and tear! I've been great with other dogs, I just wanna play, play, play! Cats are more selective, I respect the ones that get mad at me but I might be a bit of an instigator with the skittish ones. Kids should be over 12 since I have no background with any. I also love to jump up and give hugs, and I don't wanna knock over any littles!

Story
Hello, my name is Shasta. I am as bright and happy as a Shasta Daisy in the spring. I am very social (dogs and people). I have not been cat tested yet, but my foster family thinks I will also be cat social. I wandered up to this lovely lady's home. She has three dogs. All of which I liked very much. I love to hug, play, stay with my people, and talk when I want to share something. I am house-trained, crate-trained, and leash-trained. My foster mom thinks I was dumped because I did not do well on my car ride to my foster family's home. I came nervous. But my foster family thinks with patience and time, and I will see that car rides are just that—car rides.  I would adore hiking, camping, going to the beach, playing in the water, playing in the fallen leaves and snow trails, and making you laugh. But, most of all, I would adore being with you. Whoever had me trained me some, let's try to find out what I know. To begin the adoption process, please request an application from alittlelonger2home@gmail.com. Once you have received your application, please complete it in full, including the email addresses of your three references. Next is the refundable deposit of $200. The deposit indicates your intentions to take me, Shasta. If, for any reason, the adoption is canceled, you will receive a full refund. The first family to put in an application and deposit is the family I will be reserved to adopt me.
