Story
Orion is a typical husky puppy-- mouthy, energetic, and willing to yell about all his opinions! As a young dog, he still has a lot to learn about the world and will need someone with a sense of humor and a lot of patience to help him adjust. Orion does already know sit here at the shelter, but he can get mouthy and jumpy when overexcited. Similarly, he can be intense when meeting other dogs, and tends to guard toys from them when they show an interest. Because of this, he would likely do best in a home as an only dog as to avoid any unnecessary sense of conflict. In a foster home, he was noted to be destructive if left to his own devices.OTHER PETS: Orion has a tendency to guard his toys from other dogs, and so would do best in the home as an only pet. Someone that has extensive experience in managing resource guarding in a multi-dog household could possibly be an exception at the discernment of staff on a case-by-case basis. [Only Pet]OWNER EXPERIENCE: Huskies are notorious for finding ways out of things meant to contain them. Someone who has experience with huskies--or a lot of experience providing a combination of exercise and mental enrichment -- would be best suited to provide the patience and positive support that will help Orion thrive. [Experienced]KIDS: Orion has some mild resource guarding over bones and toys specifically around other dogs. Because of this and how mouthy he can be, Orion would do best in a home without young kids. [17+ (Must Meet First)]ACTIVITY LEVEL: Orion is a very energetic puppy, and will absolutely find his own entertainment if he's left to his own devices. Huskies are high energy dogs that need a combination of physical exercise and mental stimulation daily. With the benefit of positive reinforcement training, Orion could become an amazing adventure buddy! Multiple walks, possibly doggy daycare, plenty of mental enrichment, and adventures as often as possible will make sure that he has positive ways to release his energy. [Olympic Athlete] VETERINARY CARE: [Routine]LEVEL OF TRAINING NEEDED: As he is still a puppy, Orion is just starting to get the hang of how to navigate the world and will do best with someone who can offer both patience and confidence while he adjusts. Positive reinforcement training will help Orion not only learn his basic cues, but also open up opportunities for more adventurous activities like hiking and dog sports! It will provide a good opportunity for him to bond with his new owner as well. [Intense]GROOMING: Huskies need routine brushing in order to maintain their coats, they shed a lot and blow their entire coats twice a year. If their coats are not maintained properly, Huskies will get matted and will need professional grooming in order to keep them healthy and happy. [Routine Brushing]March 10, 2025, 12:49 pm

As a rescue, We do not euthanize dogs but dogs that are listed as URGENT are still waiting to be saved from animal control and they do euthanise. We can only save them when space is available or have an adopter. Bunny, if ever there was a lapdog and a Velcro dog here bunny is your girl. She is quiet gentle seems as loyal as can be! She is inquisitive about her surroundings, but all she really wanted to do is be in your lap, give you kisses and just lay by you. She didn’t wanna leave my side and if I sat down, she was in my lap, resting or trying to lay on me she is 100% full blooded husky very quiet as well. There is no high energy. She is heartworm positive, BUT WILL BE TREATED BEFORE GOING it is only 30 day treatment.

Story
Meet Neptune! This boy is just 3 years old. He is handsome, dashing and loves to be loved. Neptune has been rescued from high kill shelter in California recently and currently is residing in Connecticut. He is neutered and UTD on all shots including rabies, house trained, crate trained and so ready to meet his new family and fur-ever home. Neptune is very playful, he likes his humans, loves belly rubs and ear scratches. Neptune is very gentle with accepting treats and has not presented any aggression or resource guarding issues. He has very keen sense of smell. He knows paw or both , sit, stay and lay down. He is not very vocal like typical Huskies and won’t be howling all day. He walks well on the leash and loves his zoomies. If interested please reach out. Thank you!

To adopt please fill out an adoption application. Titan is a 4yo male Siberian Husky who was surrendered by his owner in Memphis who became ill and could no longer care for him. Calm, mellow, low maintenance. Well-socialized, friendly, sweet temperament.  Good with other dogs. Great with kids and grew up with children in his original family. Not recommended for cats because he likes to chase them. Medium energy level outside, quiet and well-mannered in the house.  Crate trained and housebroken. Uses the doggy door. Obeys basic commands.  Loves to be with his people.  Good on a leash, rides great in the car.  Healthy and fully vetted, current on shots, neutered, weighs about 60 pounds.  AWESOME young husky will make a wonderful companion (and jogging partner!)  for an active family with kids who loves the breed.
