Size
(when grown) Large 61-100 lbs (28-45 kg)
Details

Story
Delilah is a 5 year old husky-german shepard mix and I adopted her when she was 3 from Helping Hands Humane Society. Delilah (or affectionately DD), is a ball of love. She quite literally pees with excitement whenever there is a new person to see. She is definitely more of a people-centered dog, so she would work perfectly with a family! She doesn’t like to share her toys very much, but LOVES to play. If you can get past a few stuffed animal crime scenes, she’s the one for you. DD also really loves to just chill and relax, especially right on top of you or your lap. A master emotional manipulator, she pretends to faint in order to get the belly scritches she wants (and she will get). She would do best with an owner that is slightly active, but also a big couch potato. Also, she likes other dogs, but would be best suited in a home on her own or with a male dog instead of female.

Story
Chopper is a year old husky lab mix, born in November of 2023. He is brown and tan with light golden eyes. He is extremely friendly and goofy, gets along well with everyone and everything he meets, he has grown up around children of all ages as well as cats and other dogs. Everyone who meets him says he is the nicest sweetest dog and ask if they can keep him. He loves to snuggle and lounge but also loves to run around, play fetch and go for walks. He is very high energy and definitely needs an active person/family. He is up to date on shots but is not fixed. He is also microchipped, I am sure I can change his info to whoever adopts him. He will come with his collar and kennel if wanted.

Story
Kehlani is a 5 year old Siberian Husky, and I adopted her from Lawrence Human Society when she was 7 months old. Kehlani is one of those dogs that seems to have unlimited energy! She would be best suited with an active owner who loves to run, hike, or go to the park every day! She does have separation anxiety (as a lot of huskies do), so she would have the best time with someone who could take her to Woof’s Play & Stay or with someone else while you’re gone. Perks: A silly goofy gal that will make you giggle, FREE pet sitting from Kennzie’s Kritters (for just Kehlani) & an optional indestructible metal crate (highly encouraged due to her separation anxiety; $400).

Story
Hey, Chief here! So I've had it a little bit rough before I got here to HOPE. I was adopted from the local animal control by a lady who loved me but didn't quite get my best interests. She kept me inside at all times, even to use the bathroom on puppy pads. As most people know, Husky's need a whole lot of exercise and enrichment! Because I wasn't getting this, I ended up chewing up the furniture and lots of other things around the house. She did not like this, so here I am at HOPE. Everyone is hoping to get me an adopter experienced with husky's or at least someone who understands my needs and will make sure I can get the life I need so I don't resort to chewing things up when I get bored. I sure don't do that here at the shelter.

Story
Wilford B. is a lovely, fluffy husky. He was my brother's best friend and I hate letting this dog go but I can't handle two dogs. My brother passed away in February but only had been separated from this dog for a week in the 10 years he had him. Wilford is in lovely health. He's more of a cat in dog clothing, though. He doesn't howl or make lots of noise. Just wants to watch the birds & squirrels outside or lounge on a couch. He's a good walking dog. He takes me around the block, not pulling too hard. He just wants to see what's around the corner & sniff. Anytime I eat, he wants a taste but will patiently wait for me to give him food. Just a taste is fine. He's lived with another dog for 8 years but they tolerate each other, don't cuddle. An easy going dog that just wants to chill & watch the outside. Or be outside.

Story
Hi, I’m Baxter “The Betrayer” Brownson and I want to be your cuddle buddy. I love people, I love cuddling and being your best friend forever and ever… at least until the next person walks into a room. Then that person is my best friend forever and ever… unless you go out of the room for something & come back in. Then it’s that person. I’ve lived with a big construction man and my dog uncle for the last 8 years but he had to go to someplace named heaven. Human Auntie Ann can’t take care of me anymore and I have to find a new home. I like to dig in the yard for dangerous tree roots and barking at dogs passing by but otherwise I’m quiet. I don’t howl like most husky’s, maybe it’s my Lab or pit-bull parts. Small humans confuse me, I’ve not been around them much. But I’ve been around loads of people otherwise. I just want a new home where I can be king of the castle & give lots of cuddles. Maybe a PTSD support dog? I hear they need lots of cuddles & kisses. I know the basic commands.
