Zena is a 40 lb husky mix. She's gorgeous and SO sweet once you are in her circle. My dad, Tucker, Lindsy and Tahlia have all gained her trust within minutes. She has stranger danger and probably needs a no cat, no dog under 55 lb, no chicken home. She would be great as an only dog too. She can get skittish with people standing, walking toward her, certain arm placements at first at well. She just wants to stay home. In her yard or neighborhood. With her person. She loves leash walks and car rides but doesn't like going into places. "Peopling" is low on the enjoyment list. As soon as we go on our walks she's so peaceful and happy. Harley is a beautiful and happy 8 year old Husky mix. She adapts easily to most environments and has done well around other dogs and meeting new people! She has not been tested around cats but does not seem to have high prey drive so would likely be ok. She is a food motivated people pleaser who loves kids of all ages. She is still quite energetic and playful but also enjoys a lazy Sunday watching the Chiefs on TV and snuggling up. She travels great in the car and is always up for new adventures. She even did great in the hotel with her foster parents on a road trip! Harley is a great exercise partner and loves long walks/runs. Harley is not overly needy but is the happiest when her people are nearby. Apply today to meet this great girl! I inquired Koda at 7 months, he will be 3 years old April 20th. He is a very energetic dog , he enjoys running, being outside, and the cold. We want him to go somewhere with a big yard, he loves going on walks and enjoys going on car rides! He is an indoor dog and kennel trained. I unfortunately can’t keep him due to having a new born. We noticed his behavior change being more jumpy and lunges towards the baby when she is playing or screaming. We have tried correcting him and haven’t had success. Unfortunately, she will be crawling soon and don’t want to risk anything.

Charley needs a good forever home, he is wonderful with young kids, other dogs and did well with our chickens even! He is eager to please and thinks he could be a lap dog. One of the sweetest. We were told he did not shed, however that is not the case, and for allergy reasons we want to see him go to a forever home that can snuggle and love him the way he deserves!

Quill's adoption fee will be $175. link to application: https://form.jotform.com/230296113596155 PLEASE READ BIOGRAPHY BEFORE APPLYING Meet Quill, he is a 2-4 year old Husky/Akita Mix who came to us after spending most of his life on a chain. He has loved getting to live life to the fullest since coming to our rescue and enjoys his daily walks and runs and playing fetch in the yard with staff. Quill has warmed up well to the staff here at KC PAWS and has particularly bonded with the manager there, it is clear that once he is bonded and trust someone he is a friendly and affectionate dog. However due to his past he sometimes is weary of strangers approaching him. He is not the type of dog that would like being in large crowds or having strangers come up to pet him during walks. He will also need his potential adopter to be willing to do multiple visits with him before adoption. Quill has met a few female dogs that he has gotten along well with, however he does not like to interact with other male dogs especially if they are his size or larger. He would do best with a female dog around his size. He does need a home with no small dogs, or cats. He would not be an appropriate fit for a home with children as he does not like for people to be in his face leaning over him and children on his level would be frightening for him. Quill is a very active, high energy dog and LOVES to run. He would be an excellent match for someone looking for a running, hiking, adventure buddy. Quill is kennel trained and keeps his run at the shelter clean. He also loves to go for car rides. Quill needs an experienced dog owner who will be willing to really work on training and socializing.
