Story
Meet Huey, the cutest face you can never say no to! He is recovering from a skin infection, that is why he has these scars on his face, but don't worry he is fully over that! Huey was rescued from underneath a house where he was living with his momma and seven siblings, so he's still learning how to interact properly with people. He's a friendly boy who loves to play and roughhouse with his siblings and foster mom's dogs! Huey is working hard on potty-training and is learning basic commands like sit and wait. To meet sweet Huey, fill out an application at WAALrescue.org/adopt.

Story
Hi there! They call me Ghost but I'm not scary at all! My adoption fee has been sponsored, which is an extra bonus! I'm a sweet, smart, playful boy whose silly antics will keep a smile on your face. When I was brought into care, I had been chained to a dog house in a muddy backyard 24/7. Probably because of my rough start in life, I can be a little shy around new people. Once I warm up though, I'm an incredibly affectionate boy. I really enjoy being around kids and do very well with them. I do well with the other dog in my foster home. While out walking, if I see another dog I may pull on the leash, bark and try to get in their space, so I'll need someone patient to continue helping me with leash walking. If you have another fur baby we can meet to make sure we'll be a good match. I'm crate-trained, potty-trained, and ready to find my furever humans. I'm an energetic boy, so an active home would be perfect for me! My special talent is jumping even 6-foot fences, so I need to be tethered to keep me safe. To meet me, go to WAALrescue.org/adopt and fill out an application.

Story
Hey Folks, I’m Honey and yes, I’m a sweet girl. The cold was setting in and I’d found shelter for myself and my eight puppies under a house. Life had been rough, but WAAL rescued us. My favorite spot now? You’ve guessed it inside where it’s warm and cozy. You’d never believe I used to live outside as I am potty trained and crate trained, making me a great roommate. My playful antics will keep you entertained; like spinning circles in fresh snow and flopping over for belly rubs. I get along with all dogs, but not sure about cats as I have never met any. I promise to fill your home with love, cuddles and laughter. To meet me, fill out an application at waalrescue.org/adopt.

Lucy is an energetic and loving dog who loves to cuddle on the couch. She’s not a big talker but will greet you with a little whooo when you get home. She does great at the groomer and has lots of friends at doggy daycare. While she still tugs on the leash when she’s excited, she knows basic commands and waits patiently for treats.

Story
Hello, I really need help and I've waited a little too long to ask. I rescued him 7 years ago in August and I've never met a sweeter dog. That makes him about 9 years old according to the vet. He was tied to a fence post and 30 pounds and is now more than double that. He's still panics when left tied up. He needs to be in a home where people can interact with him more and take better care of him then I'm currently capable of, in the way of grooming and attention. He's very affectionate, a little goofy but not dumb. He can be stubborn but learns commands well. He can be talkative but relatively gentle for a husky and hasn't torn anything up. He follows me from room to room when I am home patiently waiting for pets or laying at my feet. He likes to sit on me. He will put his open mouth on people but never bite down.

Story
Guppie is well socialized; is friendly but not over exuberant when meeting people, dogs, and cyclists while hiking. Because of his breeds he needs a very active home that can provide at least an hour a day of running, hiking, biking, or swimming. If he doesn't get enough exercise he will be destructive in the home. Guppie is a working/sport dog that would thrive if given a job to do and a person to do it with. He would excel in sports like canicross, bikejoring, dock diving, or nose work; anything that allows him to run or swim and work together with his human.
