Story
Venus is a beautiful 3-year-old Husky with an energetic and lively personality! She was returned to us due to her high-energy nature, so she’s looking for an active family that can keep up with her fun-loving spirit. A strong tie-out or high fence is a must, as Venus loves to explore and stay on the move. Venus has a soft spot for stuffed animals and will carry them around without chewing them up—she’s got the sweetest, gentlest nature when it comes to her toys! She’s great on a leash but could use a little work on her manners, making her an excellent candidate for an active owner who is willing to help her refine her skills. Venus' adoption fee includes her spay, vaccines, microchip, and heartworm test. If you’re looking for a loyal, adventurous companion to share your life with, Venus might be the perfect fit for you!

Story
- Prefers to explore and do their own thing here in the shelter, but will likely open up more once they're in a home environment and have had time to decompress - Does well on a leash and enjoys going on walks around the shelter- Smart girl, knows sit and loves treats-Tends to be socially awkward with other dogs (dog intro recommended)- Young, noisy or busy children can be too much for them (mature home recommended) All adoptable dogs and puppies are spayed/neutered, microchipped and up to date on vaccinations (rabies and DA2PPV as appropriate for their age)The ARL's shelter software requires that we choose a primary breed for our dogs. Visual breed identification in dogs is unreliable, so for most dogs we are only guessing at primary breed. We get to know each dog as an individual and do our best to describe each of our dogs based on personality, not breed label. Primary Color: Tan Secondary Color: Brown Weight: 34 Age: 3yrs 1mths 1wks

HOW TO ADOPT: This pet is available for adoption by appointment. To schedule a time to meet this pet, please email fosterinquiry@arl-iowa.org.---- Arrived at the ARL with no eyes and is completely blind, but doesn't let it slow her down! - Likes to flop over onto her side and ask for belly rubs - Just wants lots of pets and love; will roll around and try to climb in your lap for attention - Walks very well on leash with some guidance - Will need a patient family to help her settle in and adjust to her new home but will be an amazing companion once settled in - Enjoys spending time with dogs who have a similar play style and would benefit from a helper dog in her new home to help show her around All adoptable dogs and puppies are spayed/neutered, microchipped and up to date on vaccinations (rabies and DA2PPV as appropriate for ageThe ARL's shelter software requires that we choose a primary breed for our dogs.
