Story
Say hello to Axel Rose!  He's a young Husky/Border Collie, born May 2024.  He would love to bring some excitement to your life.  He's an amazing dog!!  He loves to play and run - he's VERY active.  Axel Rose needs someone that is also active and can keep up with him.  He doesn't like yelling - it makes him a little nervous.  He needs someone that is patient and understands since he's still young, he needs training and guidance. Axel Rose is potty trained and crate trained.  He's also leash trained, so he will be happy to be your walking buddy!  Did we mention he's active and likes to keep busy?!  He's friendly with other dogs and kids of all ages.  Axel Rose is protective of his food, so he will need his own personal space for meals.  He also needs a fenced yard.  Let's find this guy a home of his home!! The suggested adoption donation for Axel Rose is $400, which includes a lifetime of free relationship-based training for any behavioral problems (not obedience training).  Muddy Paws is a 501c3 non-profit organization meaning that part of your donation MAY be TAX DEDUCTIBLE. We are a 100% volunteer rescue committed to giving animals a second chance at life. All donations go toward that mission. Adoption fees are the primary source of funding for the cost of veterinary care for our animals. In 2022 alone, we provided animal Healthcare totaling over $399,000 covered mainly through adoption fees. Please Note:  A Courtesy Post designates that an animal is still in the home of its owner and not in a Muddy Paws foster. This means that our exposure to the animal is limited since we are only assisting the owner in finding a new home for their pet. From time to time, owners find a new furever home for their pets outside of Muddy Paws Second Chance Rescue and there is a delay in removing them from our site. We apologize if the Courtesy Post you apply to adopt is unavailable for adoption. Information about the adoption process:  All adoptions require a completed ADOPTION APPLICATION. Once your application has completed our prescreen steps, we will put you in touch with the animal’s foster to see if you and the pet are a good match. If so, we will arrange a meeting for you and the animal. The adoptions for all of our animals will take place in the Omaha, NE area and must be done by the adoptive family in person. We do not ship or deliver. Please Note:  We are a RESCUE, which is different from a shelter. We conduct veterinary and personal reference checks, and a Home Visit (Virtual in some cases) during the application approval process. We always select the right applicant for each animal, based on the animal’s needs. If you and the animal are not a good match, we will help you select another animal, or we will keep your approved application on file for 6 months. Please welcome Bella Donna to rescue!  She is a beautfiul Husky, born 2017, and she has a super SWEET disposition.  She does wheelies when she's happy and has the most beautfiul smile.  She is great with dogs and cats.  Bella Donna takes treats nice, walks great on a leash and LOVES everyone she comes into contact with. She is a little overweight, so Bella Donna's new person will need to be able to help her follow a diet and give her regular exercise.  We'll share updates and more information about Bella Donna as we learn more about her.  Please consider giving this girl a home!! The suggested adoption donation for Bella Donna is $300, which includes a lifetime of free relationship-based training for any behavioral problems (not obedience training).  Muddy Paws is a 501c3 non-profit organization meaning that part of your donation MAY be TAX DEDUCTIBLE. Story
Radar is a 4 year old agouti husky. He is a very energetic and loveable goofball. He likes to play wrestle with other dogs and leaves cats alone for the most part. He does have some issues that we've been working on. He can be kennel aggressive and resource guards, so I'd rather him go to a home without small children. It's a bonus if you're experienced with huskies. We're needing to find him a new home because we've run into some financial difficulties and are expecting a human child in October. Please reach out if you think he'd be a good fit in your home.
