Story
Becky is a playful and energetic female husky who thrives in the great outdoors-especially when it's covered in snow! Whether she's bounding through drifts or chasing after a ball in a game of fetch, Becky's zest for life is infectious. This smart girl already knows basic obedience commands like sit and down and is making great progress on her house training. She's a social pup who has lived with other dogs before and loves making new doggy friends at the shelter.Becky is working on managing her excitement, especially in new situations, and would benefit from a patient home dedicated to continuing her training. Due to her energy levels, she would do best in a household with children aged 13 and older. If you're ready for a loyal companion who will bring endless fun to your days, Becky can't wait to meet you! Story
Beautiful husky girl Chiquita, born April 2023, is looking for a home. She is approximately 41 lbs. Her mum and littermates were often seen wandering in the area of the SPCA PV sanctuary and staff and volunteers saw them in deteriorating condition due to a diet heavy on garbage and took them in to give them the care they needed. After she got refuge in the sanctuary, she lived through a hurricane which heavily damaged the shelter, and she had temporary refuge in a home that unfortunately had a landlord that didn't allow dogs.. but in that time, she learned what a home is and what it is meant to be loved. Chiquita is an energetic girl so she’d love a yard with some space to burn off some zoomies but was in a foster home in an apartment. She loves the beach. Her foster mom just loved her, described her as a fast learner, and a great cuddler. She has learned basic commands - sit, come, waits to eat her food. She isn't destructive in the home and did well in the car. She is selective with other dogs, and can be reactive, and would squabble with her siblings. Kids make her nervous so she'd prefer a quiet adult home where she can learn more about the world. Chiquita would be best in a home without cats as she shows high prey drive. Video of Chiquita with her shelter friends: https://www.facebook.com/spcapv/videos/1401202434079126 She is now healthy and vaccinated. If you think you might be her happy home, please contact us at pvcaadoptions@gmail.com for more information. Chiquita is currently in Mexico but would love to join her forever home in Canada

Story
Spike has a story with us and we’d like to share it with you . Spike is a two year old Husky mix . He came from the Northwest Territories SPCA when he was 8 weeks old. He was a happy friendly puppy who loved the female dog, cat and kids in his foster home . He was adopted as a puppy and then abandoned , dropped at the neighbours when he was 7 months old . She only realized he had been a rescue pup from his microchip when she took him to the vet . He had a limp and she contacted us saying she cared for him but he was too puppy for an older lady. We brought him back into care and we realized that he would periodically limp . The vets said he was born with a shorter back leg , and it was accommodating his active lifestyle but starting to cause him consistent pain. He would need to be on pain medication or have it amputated for better quality of life . A couple months ago BARS decided to give him a pain free , active , happy life and amputate his short leg . It was a tough few days after surgery but he healed up amazingly. He is running , playing and back to his best self . Spike is ready for a family to love him forever . If Spike could speak he would ask for lots of outside space , a safe place to sleep at night . Cats , cats and more cats , as he absolutely loves them and protects them . He is good with female dogs after proper introductions but hasn’t had much luck sharing a home with another male . Spike loves toys and can carry multiple toys in his mouth at once . He is a smart , funny and vibrant character that will add so much love and excitement to your home. Please consider meeting Spike , we know his forever home is out there somewhere! If you would like to meet Spike, please fill out the adoption application.

Story
Hey, I`m Ghost, I`m a beautiful year old husky mix. I`m still very much a puppy and will need someone who can give me lots of attention and training. I will need a fenced yard as the Husky in me makes me want to run and explore. I am good with other dogs and decently ok with cats. I am a very happy go lucky girl. I would enjoy getting some training classes and guidance to help me be a good girl. I cannot be off leash till I have made a strong connection with my people. I love people so much that I like to cuddle on their laps. If you would like to meet me , please fill out the adoption application.
