Story
Age: 6 monthsWeight: 27.9 kg / 61.5 lbA bit about O`Connor- kids okay; all interactions should be supervised- unknown history with cats; slow, supervised intros recommended- dogs okay pending successful intro- has never lived indoorsO`Connor is a big gentle boy who came to Calgary Humane after his family could no longer care for him. O`Connor has always been an outdoor pup and isn`t sure what to make of our big building and its slippery floors! O`Connor has previously lived with dogs and children, but has had limited socialization outside his family, so he`d do best with patient doggy and human friends that can help him get his confidence up. Slowly, O`Connor is learning to trust, and gain some confidence with walking on leash and living indoors. But as a big fluffy husky, his ideal home would be a rural placement or a house with a secure backyard where he can spend lots of time outside. Come say hello to this sweet guy today!

Not good with kids, Not good with dogs, Not good with cats, Needs experienced adopter, House-trained,
Story
Diesel is a Siberian husky Great Pyrenees mix, I’ve had him for 6 years, he loves walks and is fairly well trained, he’s a quiet dog but is occasionally verbal. He was abused as a puppy till about 7months, he was amazing around other animals and children till about mid 2023 where he started showing signs of aggression towards other animals and children. He is well behaved when he is an only animal, I currently live with my mother who has two small dogs and I have a cat that he does not mind at all but with new animals or unfamiliar animals/people he is aggressive only when provoked ie. children touching him when he is giving verbal and visual body language signs to not be touched and or in his personal space like face to face or unwanted attention. Due to not being able to keep him in the household we have moved to I need to rehome him, I want to try and maintain a relationship with him if possible but if I cant rehome him I will have to euthanize him by November 20th-25th

Good with dogs,
Story
McFly has had a bit of a rough start in life & could really use a champion.   He was adopted as a puppy during Covid so he was rarely alone & he also didn’t meet many people outside of his home.   This has resulted in a lack of socialization skills & suffering from some separation anxiety.   His family later went through some turmoil with major life changes & ultimately made the decision to return him.    The upheaval has left this sweet boy stressed & confused. Strengths:  -Smart, loyal boy who learns quickly-Great with women -Very gentle with children-Sweet & affectionate with people he knows-Does well with most other dogs, but can be selective -Has lived with cats-100% housebroken-Loves car rides Needs improvement: -Suffers from separation anxiety-Is wary of men, strangers & anyone with grey hair until he gets to know them -Protective of his food & needs to be separated from other dogs at feeding times-Can sometimes be jealous of the attention given to another dog instead of him   McFly needs some extra time to adjust to new people & situations.  But if given some space, patience, love & a bucketload of treats, he will befriend anyone.  He has made an impressive amount of progress since he’s been in our care and we have no doubt that with some more time & effort, he will blossom into the wonderful companion he’s meant to be!  The thing that he wants the most and we’ve been struggling to provide is stability.  He requires a safe space with someone he can rely on.  Once his world stabilizes & he can relax, a lot of his issues will hopefully start to resolve. ##2008930##
