Dojo here! I`m a 1 1/2 year old neutered male husky. I`m all white, aside from my bright blue eyes! You see, I`m the kind of dog that reads the rule book, and picks and chooses what I think is reasonable (be quiet indoors? Share my food and toys? Keep all 4 paws on the floor at all times? Yeah, I don`t think so!). I can be a little standoffish when I`m first meeting somebody I don`t know, and I need them to take things at my own pace. Give me a little space, some hot dogs or cheese (or anything edible really, I`m not so picky!), tell me how handsome I am and how brave of a boy I`m being, and then I may waltz over to you for a hello.My people here at the shelter say my body language can be a little misleading, so I need an owner that REALLY gets huskies and the quirks we have. The staff says I can`t go home with somebody that does not have experience owning dogs like me (they seem pretty serious about this, too). They think I would heavily benefit from working with a trainer, and would like to see me improve on my basic skills as well as learn some new ones to help me stay out of troubleI do not like the idea of living with children, but teens+ that have lived with dogs before might be alright, I`d definitely have to meet them first. Sometimes I can`t contain myself when something small scurries across me, so I probably wouldn`t be the best guy to have around cats or small animals. Dogs? Oh, dogs... some are okay I guess, but I absolutely need to meet them and feel the vibes before I commit to living with them. I might like the idea of being the only dog in my new home more, though.Whattaya say, wanna come meet me?Our shelter is open Tuesday-Sunday from 12-4 (closed Mondays).
