Meet Wednesday, a tiny puppy with a big personality! He was brought to CHA after being found as a stray by a good Samaritan. He is a 2 month-old mixed breed dog who currently weighs 10 lbs. He will grow to be a large sized dog. Wednesday is a confident, playful puppy who enjoys going on long walks, exploring the play yard, and rolling around on his blankets as he chews on his toys. Wednesday is always happy to meet new people, and will greet visitors with a wiggly body. He is very intelligent and learns new skills quickly. While at a foster home, Wednesday displayed some food guarding behaviors while eating next to his sibling. Wednesday has now begun a food guarding desensitization plan but it will be important for adopters to continue with this plan and consult a trainer for further guidance to correct these behaviors while he is still young.As he has displayed resource guarding behaviors, Wednesday would do best in a home with mature children who understand that he should not be disturbed while eating food or high value treats, and who are not as likely to drop food on the floor. Sassy is currently at county pound but we will pull her if we can find a foster.Sassy and 8 other dogs were taken from abusive owners. Prior to being seized, Sassy lived indoors and never went outside.We have a volunteer who has gone to the shelter and has taken Sassy for walks and reports that Sassy is a wonderful dog! She is good on a leash and loves belly rubs.Sassy needs to be on a strong leash at all times. She gets spooked easily (remember, all of this is new to her) by cars, loud noises, etc.Sassy is approximately 40 pounds. She has been spayed. I absolutely love being outside, playing with other dogs, and soaking up all the attention I can get. Dog beds are my happy place, and I could spend hours lounging with a good bone or frozen snack to keep me entertained. Wearing a thunder shirt in my crate has really helped me settle down, and while I can be a little yappy at first, I calm down once I get comfortable. I’m house trained and great on a leash, so walks are something I really enjoy now! My ideal home would be a single-family house or a place with no shared walls since I have a big personality and like to use my voice when I’m excited or missing my people. A flexible schedule or work-from-home situation would be amazing so I wouldn’t be alone for long periods of time. I’ve been making great progress with crate training and can stay in my crate for short periods, but I would love to be in a home where I have plenty of time with my human. Josie is 2 years old. She loves to play - throw the ball - and loves to run. She is free to a good home and comes with her own cage and leash. She will not wander off, she will stay close to home. She will follow and sometimes lead on a leash. She is crate trained. She is not spayed nor up to date on vaccines. She is very shy around new people. She will eventually warm up to you after she gets to know you. She is scared of loud noises. She is very loving and a good girl.

Meet Marko and Phoenix! Their owners rescued them in 2021 but are now hoping to rehome them together due to young children. They are both loving, playful, and would do best in a home with a fenced in yard. Phoenix is a 3 year old female and is spayed/microchipped. She is a sweet girl with a more laid back, independent personality. Marko is a 6 year old male and is neutered/microchipped. He loves getting attention and being around people with exception to the vet, but his anxiety at visits has improved as trust has been built. Both are crate/potty trained and up to date on shots.

I got Luca from petland a weeks before he turned 4 months. He has been with me since feb 23. Hes such a spoiled boy. He is very loving. Unfortunately i just signed a new lease and they no longer allow dogs over 50lbs as an adult which most likely he will be a little over 50lbs so i have to rehome him.

Due to family situation, Kai needs to be rehomed. He loves to play with other dogs & hard chewy toys. He is shy at first but warms to you so he will be close to you. He has not been around young children or cats. He is neutered. He is not totally housebroken. we have a large crate but not crate trained. He is smart but we have not been able to devote enough continuous training due to disruption in our home. Kai is looking for a loving home where he will be even happier.

My son found Beta (Sasha) and took her back to her owners from Chip reader. They did not want her!!! She was kept outside all the time, abused and not feed good. When I got her she was fearful and scared as she should have been as to being in a new place. She is a good girl loves to walk out side and play with her red ball. She is scared of kids and men. It took several days before she would let me touch her and then she opened up a few months later with being vocal. She hasn't been around many people since how she was raised. Now she love to cuddle when you say Cuddle time!! she has her own pillow that she lays on at night in bed and she sleeps on her back. Being 52 yrs old with 2 shoulder surgeries and another on the way I can't take care of her the way she needs. She needs a big back yard to run and play with other dogs and she needs someone with the time to help break out of the abusive shell she is in with kids and men.

Our dog name is Hannah, we bought her at a pet store in 2018. Hannah was born in 2018, she is spayed and has all her vaccines up to date. She is very playful and energetic. The main reason why we are giving her up for adoption is because my husband works out of state and we have a 20-month-old child and as a mother who practically lives alone, it is very difficult for me to take care of my son and Hannah. As I have already written, she is a very energetic dog and she likes to be taken out for walks and to play constantly. I am currently looking for a job and I do not think it is fair that Hannah has to stay practically all day alone at home.
