Story
When he was found he was in great shape. His coat was immaculate, nails trimmed and simply stunning. We put out the word on social media trying to nd the owner. No one replied. It's like he had just stepped o a beauty pageant runway. He has the makings of a movie star. He loves the spotlight :-). Honestly he's The Complete Package. This breed is known for being great escape artists. They love being outdoors. Gregarious and people loving. These are not good guard dogs. They are natural athletes, thriving on vigorous exercise. Wants to be involved with his people as much as possible. It is preferable that someone who is well informed about this breed adopts him. However he's very chill for a Husky. Loves riding in the car. Very well mannered. House trained. Plays well with both small and large sized dogs. He's been going to doggy socialization classes but he was a natural from day one. He must go to an active household that likes be outdoors like hiking, running, long walks, etc. This is a breed that needs daily exercise. He will want to snuggle and crawl into your lap. He would love to have a family with kids. Mishka is very well behaved; however, he is large and gets very excited when he meets people. A small child might get toppled over. He has not been cat temp tested.  Age: 1.5 years  Weight: 42 lbs  Vetting: Up-to-date on vaccines, neutered and heartworm negative  Temperament: Good with older sturdy kids ,dogs .  Training: house trained, crate trained, knows commands. Adoption fee $400. For questions, please email.   kbstine@emory.edu   To ensure we're meeting both pet and adopters' needs, we ask potential adopters to complete an Adoption Application (www.bit.ly/DH-Adoption) for caretakers to review. Once your application is approved, we will bring the adoptable pet to your home for a preliminary visit. November 6, 2024, 12:45 pm

Story
Eva is a two year old, 62# Husky girl. She is likely not 100% Husky but her temperament and personality are very characteristic of the breed. She is spunky, playful, talkative, and has never met a stranger. Eva is active without being over-the-top in terms of energy level and settles well in the house with sufficient exercise. Being a husky, she can also be mischievous and a bit of a Houdini, though she is not destructive. With dogs she can be a bit domineering and is what I would classify as a “rude greeter”. Meaning, her body language when meeting new dogs can be a bit antagonistic and she has needed some coaching on how to interact more politely. Once she is acquainted with a dog, she is largely a gracious playmate and confidante, although she typically prefers male dogs. Not that I ever really condone dog parks except in special circumstances, but she is definitely not a dog park or commercial doggy daycare candidate. I also would not recommend her to a home with small animals or very young children. Eva has been bounced around a bit in her short life and would love to find her forever family. She walks well on leash, has good name recall, and knows basic obedience commands. She is also spayed, chipped, and up to date.
