Story
Hi all, my name is Silas. I am a very loving four year old, male, husky mix who needs a new home. My family adores me, but I am not doing well with the new toddler in my family. Loud noises and fast movements are upsetting for me. So my family is making the painful decision to find me a child free home.  I am very good with other dogs and I adore cats. I would LOVE to share my new home with one of those fascinating creatures. Once I am comfortable with you I am very cuddly. I love to get belly rubs and to snuggle. You will love how well behaved I am. I am great on the leash, and have no food or toy aggression.  If you are looking for a dog to play and snuggle with who will keep you smiling, I am your boy. I am neutered and vaccinated. My adoption fee is $800 Disclaimer: It is important for all applicants to visit our website, http://www.lovedatlastdogrescue.ca/adopting/ and read about Loved at Last Dog Rescue.Information included in the profile is provided to us from the international rescuer or local fosters. LALDR does not have access to overseas dogs and cannot always verify the accuracy of their descriptions. Every dog is an individual and can act differently in different situations based on the person adopting them and the environment in which they live. Please Note: LALDR highly encourages adopters to research some local dog trainers before their dog arrives. Although a 1-on-1 trainer is often not needed, it is good to have someone in mind in case any problematic behaviours arise. Most bad behaviours can be modified if caught early enough, so make sure to nip undesirable behaviours in the bud before they become serious problems.Basic training should be taken seriously, but should not begin until your dog is well settled in - at least a couple of weeks. After you feel your new dog is relaxed and comfortable in their new home, check out training courses in your local area. Even basic beginner courses like those taught at a local pet store can have a huge benefit in helping your dog learn to socialize and get used to being in public situations, all with the added benefit of strengthening their bond with you. While most dogs find escorting passengers flying directly to Vancouver, some will find flights through Toronto or  Montreal. In that case, additional fees will apply to fly your dog to Vancouver by cargo. Unaccompanied cargo costs within Canada range from $350 - $550 depending on the size of the dog. LALDR will be as transparent as possible with you regarding these costs. The age and breed of a dog is usually an educated guess, so we are not able to guarantee the accuracy of age or breed of our dogs. Normally, we will not approve adoptions to homes with children under 12 years of age. However if a dog has been determined to be good with children we will approve applicants with children 8 years or older. More information can be found on our website. ##1949542##

Story
Hello, everyone!  I'm a vibrant 3-ish year old corgi mix and my name is Beene, affectionately known as Benny Boy by humans.  I arrived in Canada in December 2023 and have been fortunate to live with caring foster families since my arrival who've helped me settle into my new life.  As a special-needs dog requiring diapers/belly bands for indoors, I need an understanding and patient person/family able to commit to my long-term care.  I'm a lively pup with lots of energy, love to give, and excitement for what is to come!  Born in a small village in the Middle East, Benny’s journey hasn’t been an easy one. At just one month old, he was found whimpering alone under a tree. With his mother and littermates nowhere to be found, a kind human brought him to a shelter, where he spent 1.5 years sharing a small space with other dogs. Despite the challenges, Benny’s resilience and sweet personality shone through, eventually earning him a ticket to a new life in British Columbia.f Benny has met several foster families who've cared for him deeply, and where he had the opportunity to live with other dogs, which he got along very well with.  He thrives in the company of playful canine friends and would love a home with another dog or access to regular dog park outings. Benny is a true sweetheart who lives for human affection. He’s known for gently placing his paw on your arm or leg as if to say, “It’s time for pets!” His soulful eyes are guaranteed to melt your heart. Though Benny can be a little timid when meeting new humans (especially men), he warms up quickly with patience and kindness. In fact, his current foster—a man—won him over in just five minutes! Benny is a fast learner, eager to please, and very food-motivated, making training a breeze. He’s gentle, has no resource guarding, and is great with kids. Benny’s incontinence issue is likely neurological (undiagnosed). He signals when he needs to go outside for bowel movements but struggles with bladder control, which is managed indoors with belly bands. A home with a fenced yard would be ideal, giving him space to run, play, and explore while making bathroom breaks easier for everyone.  Without documented separation anxiety, he is fine to be left alone for a few hours. Neutered, vaccinated, and microchipped. Adoption fee is by donation.  Disclaimer: It is important for all applicants to visit our website, http://www.lovedatlastdogrescue.ca/adopting/ The age and breed of a dog is usually an educated guess. Story
Hey big world. My name is RACCOON and here is a little info about me:Breed: HuskyAge: 1 yearGender: maleWeight: 46 lbsHeight: tbdHighlight(s): playful, energetic, social If you Peter Piper picked a pack of peppered puppies, how many puppies would Peter Piper have picked? Why, all of them of course. But there is just me, so that makes it easy for you.My rescuer found me on the road in the Middle East. It was in the dark of the night and I was in the middle of the road. I could have gone under the wheel of a car at any moment. Thankfully, my rescuer suddenly saw me and swerved the car to avoid running me over. That was just a couple weeks ago.I currently live with a small dog and 3 cats at the boarding house where I am staying. I love to hobnob with the cats. For a husky pup, I actually seem pretty gentle. No bonzai bounce in this kid, but I can be like any puppy, mischievious and playful... like a raccoon. I kind of look like a raccoon too, hence my name. Playing in water is fun. https://youtu.be/g6pn3t3zOvI. Teething time: https://youtu.be/k16ka0tG71s, past it now though.Being a social boy, I'd love a home with other fur brothers or sisters:  https://youtu.be/fHqO7oa2V_k, even the 2 legged kind of siblings is fine by me. Heck, let's get everyone in on the fun. I know a good thing when I find it though and like to hoard all the attention to myself. Hopefully, we can do hiking and other outdoor adventures. Especially snow activities, I'm a sled dog, right? Energetically, bounding through the snow, pulling Santa's sleigh, oh wait, that's the reindeer. Ha.I'd love a yard best, but if we manage enough action out and about, I should be ok without. Another vid of me with buddies: https://youtube.com/shorts/RBsV_sJRHD0. Energy Level: moderate-highI get along with:Dogs: yesCats: yesKids: unknown, but quite likely, as I am just a wee pup yet Fears: none observed. Please be patient assisting me in my transition.Training: noneLeash skills: no. Please be prepared to train me.House trained: Yes or No. Please help me learn! OR where to go in my new home. Health notes:I am too young yet to be spayed/neutered, but I am vaccinated and microchipped. Spay/neuter will be the responsibility of the adopter and is required for my adoption to be finalized. My adoption fee is $800.00 CAD plus applicable taxes. This includes my transportation to Canada, if I am able to be accompanied by a flight volunteer directly to Vancouver.
