My name is Walker and I got the sad news that I'm needing a new family. But you know, that's ok, I know there is a person just for me, that will make my golden years the best ever!! You see, I'm around 8+ years and yes I'm getting up there in age. It may take me a minute to get up and my back legs aren't quite as sturdy and strong as before but I still do love to patrol my backyard, go for leisurely strolls and hang out with all my friends (and I make friends with everybody!). I love people both tall and small, I do great with other doggies and I'll make friends with any wildlife that wanders into my yard. Although I'm not sure of cats, I don't try to hurt them but I will chase them out of the yard. I come in at around 70lbs but it's mostly legs (they go on forever). Must be some Greyhound in my hairytage! I'm housetrained and will come when you call and I know to sit on command. I've got a very mellow, gentle low key personality that will make me a great family addition for a home with kids and other pets. I'm hoping for a home to call my very own, a place with a soft bed to lay my head. A home where I could have the honor to call you...family!! Won't you please fill out my adoption application?!! Story
Welcome Smokey to CCPAL Rescue. He is a 3- to 4-year-old Greyhuahua or Italian Greyhound/Chihuahua mix. He weighs about 10 pounds. He has long legs and will be able to keep stride with a walker. He takes a treat very nicely from your hands. He likes to be held, good in a crate, good with other dogs and lives with a cat. His teeth look pretty good. Doesn’t look like he will need a teeth cleaning for a while. He is more of a mellow lap companion and would be perfect for an older couple or older single who wants a low energy companion. He is relatively quiet at the rescue so we would say he would be fine in a condo setting with a smaller yard or shared walls. He has really cute little face with some grey on his muzzle and is an overall wonderful little dog. He will make some lucky family a great companion. He can be with kids. We like them to be 10 or older. His best home would be a quieter one that wants a low energy companion dog. He is going to be neutered soon, already getting vaccines topped off and hw negative. He is currently in Texas and can be adopted locally or we can work with one of the wonderful transporters to get him to Washington, Portland, Minnesota, Vermont or all along the East Coast. His adoption fee is 300 and transport is 180. Scout is a young Greyhound boy at Bexata Animal Sanctuary, Inc. in San Antonio, TX. He is sweet, leash trained, crate trained, house trained, gets along iwith other dog, is beautiful to look at. Plesaes if you have experience with Greyhounds, contact me for a Greyhound Adoption Application. Transportation is available if you come here to pick him up, or if yo9u want to pay for an excellent, experienced transporter for which adopter will pay. He is microchipped but it's not on the ad. I will also share pictures.
