Story
If you've ever wanted a real live teddy bear, you must come see Issa! This great Pyrenees lady has a beautiful, full white fur coat! Issa is a bit timid and shy , but has good manners and knows basic commands and would do best in a home with another dog as she has been very used to being with a sibling before her time at the farm. At 64lbs, Issa is full grown but rather underweight so she needs to pack on a number more to fill out. Issa may prefer a more low key home without a lot of chaos given her more shy nature. You won't be able to resist her chocolate brown eyes as she lets you know it's time for a snuggle session! Come see Issa soon - she is sure to make a wonderful holiday addition to your home!

Story
We might as well have named him "how to study how quickly humans can fall in love with a dog". No need to study the history of human beahvior...just come meet Anthropology and you will experience the experience of true love. This Great Pyrenees mix came to us in poor shape, with a skin infection and very underweight. This guy IS the makeover story of 2024 and into 2025. With regular meals, he has begun to put on weight but needs many many more lbs as he weighs just 54 lbs now. He has been sweet, soft, and wonderful and will be a lumbering gentleman when he reaches full handsome level. Anthropology has been good with other dogs and is a volunteer favorite for sure. Come meet this handsome make-over and love story of a life time!

Story
Olivia and George arrived from a shelter partner in rough shape. It is obvious they had been on their own for a while, as they were really matted and had burrs in their beautiful white coats. We got them to the groomer right away and cleaned up and boy did they shine! Olivia, who is about 116 lbs is a bit quicker to warm up, but both dogs are really eager to please and be with some nice humans who will take care of them. Olivia is HW+ which will be treated by the rescue, and George, who is about 95lbs is neutered. They are both microchipped, and up to date on vaccines. They would love to be adopted together. Please apply for this pair of sweet giants at apply.neshamarescue.org

Story
Claire is a petite Pyrenees mix! She could put on a few more pounds, but she will likely never grow to full Pyrenees size. She was a working guard dog and still loves to guard a fenced backyard (6 foot privacy fence required). She enjoys lazing around most of the day, loves cold weather, and is friendly with everyone she meets. The foster’s home does not have cats or children, but she has been fine when meeting both on walks and was reportedly good with children in a previous home. She has shown some initial dominance behavior toward other female dogs, but she has always ended up befriending the other dog after setting her boundaries. She loves playing chase with other resident dogs! Claire’s future family can expect friendly nudges for pets and a “Pyr Paw” to let you know when she wants attention. She is fully house-trained (never had a single accident with her foster) and is low maintenance. She enjoys a morning walk, plenty of pets, and a tasty chew now and then, but otherwise she takes care of herself. Potential adopters should be familiar with the unique traits of Great Pyrenees. Claire does bark and would likely be at her best on a large property with room to roam and neighbors who would not be bothered by her. She would love a low-pressure guard job like having a chicken coop to protect!

Story
My name is Mallow and if there`s one thing you should know about me, it`s that I`m as sweet as a marshmallow! I`m a friendly and easy-going girl that loves relaxing on the couch and watching tv by your side. When we go outside, I become very playful and occasionally catch an adorable case of the zoomies. I especially love when there is snow outside - it`s so much fun to play in! I`ve gotten along well with other dogs and cats in the past, and while I can be a little shy with new people at first, I warm up quick with some treats and encouraging words. I am full grown at ~65 lbs. How did I get here? Surrendered by my owner due to lifestyle changes. **I will be spayed prior to going home with you. I am currently living at the admission center - please fill out a survey and select a phone appointment to complete the adoption process. Once that process is complete, your adoption specialist will schedule a time for you to meet me in person!**~My adoption fee is $120.00.~

Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. Online Adoption Application › Hi, I'm Lane. I am a three year old girl who has enough energy to power the entire state of NC. I've been at my foster mom's since I was 11 weeks old. I'm really good in my crate during the day while foster mom is at work. I sleep in my crate at night as well. I also express my opinion when I'm crated and something else is happening in the house. I have strong FOMO! I may not look it, but my foster mom.had my DNA tested and I am Great Pyrenees, along with some staffie and some pittie and cattle dog. These long legs like to run lots of zoomies around the yard. They also help me jump like a kangaroo. A high fence may be necessary to contain my excitement. I would do best in an active household, with no small kids and no small animals. I do have a strong herding instinct. My foster mom had a cat that I really like to put in my mouth. I don't think the cat appreciated it very much. But I find it a lot of fun. I don't have to be the only dog in the household, but the other dog should probably be my size or a little larger and most likely a male dog. I seem to get along best with them. No girl drama! I can also be very protective of my stuff - food and toys especially. I don't like sharing them with other dogs. I am also the BEST guard dog - maybe a little too good. I want to alert you that you just let a stranger in the house and I have to go into protector mode. I am still learning that not everyone is trying to sell us solar panels and I don't need to be so mean sounding to foster mom's guests. If you are a dog savvy family that is willing to work with training and help me become the best dog ever, please put in an application. I would love to find my forever home.Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.November 6, 2024, 2:18 pm
