Story
🐾 Big Bud Energy 🐾 Ever dreamed of a 100-pound shadow who follows you everywhere, adores car rides, and occasionally tries to fit his XXL self on your lap? Meet Bud, the ultimate “ride-or-die” best friend — emphasis on ride because this dude lives for car rides. 🚗💨 At 10 years old, Bud has perfected the art of chill. He’s loyal, affectionate, and devoted to his people — like, “wait by the door until you come home” devoted. He’s calm and gentle, with just enough stubborn streak to keep life interesting (translation: sometimes you’ll need to negotiate coming inside with a leash, not words 😅). Bud’s ideal day? ☀️ Morning walk to handle serious business (he prefers to poop anywhere but his yard — a man of principle). 🍳 Breakfast. Belly rubs. 🛋 Lounging near his humans, occasionally backing his butt into you for pets. 🌳 Afternoon car ride or a stroll at the park to sniff every single smell known to dogkind. 🌙 Dinner, one last stretch in the yard, and bedtime snuggles. He’s crate trained (but doesn’t need it), house trained (never an accident), respectful (unless you leave snacks at eye level), and has just the right amount of drool for a dog his size. Bud can hang out with other dogs in public — he’s a polite gentleman on walks and at the park — but let’s be real… he doesn’t want to share his home, his couch, or his humans. 😂 He’s happiest as your one and only big buddy, soaking up all the love for himself. He’s a little older, a little wiser, and still has plenty of gas in the tank for walks, car rides, and love. ❤️ So if you’re looking for a gentle giant who’ll be your best friend, car buddy, and emotional support goofball — Bud’s your guy. 🐶 10 years old | 100+ lbs | Loyal. Lovable. Lap-dog-at-heart.

Tinkerbell is currently at a rescue in Oklahoma. We are looking for a home in a state where people treat their animals well. Story
Sweet little PRINCESS is a gorgeous 4 month old puppy who looks to be some kind of Great Pyrenees mix with a floofy soft coat! She just got fully vetted and is ready for adoption. Super playful and friendly, loves to run around and then crashes hard for snuggles after she gets tired out. Good with dogs, cats, and school-aged kids. (DOB ~8/10/25) 👉 Adoption fee INCLUDES: all vetting to age (including deworming, flea & tick etc), spay/neuter and microchip (if the dog is under 6 months, alter and chip will occur after they're 6 months, covered in full at our clinic or reimbursed partially at a vet of your choosing). If the dog is older than 6 months and not yet altered, we will schedule ASAP (normally within 30 days) at our clinic . We also provide as an incentive a $60 rebate for completion of positive-based training classes. Adoption also includes lifetime support of the rescue. 💜 Please click PURPLE BUTTON above or www.secondhanddogrescue.com/apply to apply ✍ APPLICATION PROCESSING: We do most application processing virtually and dog meets will be individually by appointment with ONLY APPROVED APPLICANTS. We are not a shelter and are completely volunteer foster-based, so there is no central place to come see all of the dogs available. 📌IMPORTANT NOTES: ** Housetraining with rescues is sometimes a work in progress and even if a dog is 100% in a foster's home, it should be expected there will be an adjustment period as a dog adapts to a new environment. This is even more true if the dog has not by chance had their altering appointment at time of adoption. ** Also, we highly recommend some form of 2-week shutdown and decompression for dogs going to a new home for best results. --> Lastly, breed guesses in rescue are just that (GUESSES!!) 99.9% of the time. We do not do DNA testing and our breed guesses are based on appearance and sometimes other traits, but we know the dog breed guessing game is a fool's errand even for those with LOTS of experience. 🗺 ADOPTION AREA: several hour radius of Rochester, NY (Canada within 3 hours IS allowed, except that young puppies need to be old enough to have gotten their rabies vaccination to cross the border - usually around 16 weeks)

Story
Gorgeous CUDDLES was surrendered with his Mom Ruby and his younger sibling Princess and they all look to be some kind of gorgeous Great Pyrenees mix with fluffy coats. Cuddles was definitely the most nervous and shy of the three, but has done well with a decompression quiet time to relax from his change in circumstances. All dogs need that to some degree with big changes, but some just need a little more patience. He's just 9 months old and is now fully vetted. Looking for a new best friend and have some patience? Cuddles might be your guy! He's just 40 lbs and should be getting closer to full-grown. He'd do well with another confident dog in the home. (Approx DOB 3/10/25) 👉 Adoption fee INCLUDES: all vetting to age (including deworming, flea & tick etc), spay/neuter and microchip (if the dog is under 6 months, alter and chip will occur after they're 6 months, covered in full at our clinic or reimbursed partially at a vet of your choosing). Story
We are a group of happy, playful puppies full of curiosity and joy! Our days are spent pouncing, wrestling, playing tug-of-war, and exploring every nook and corner of the house. Adventure is our favorite job, and we take it very seriously. Food is another one of our great loves! Any trip to the kitchen must mean mealtime, and we’re happy to let you know just how hungry we are—even if we just finished eating. We are great with other dogs and kids, making us wonderful additions to families of all sizes. Our mama is a Great Pyrenees/Lab mix, and our dad is a Catahoula Leopard Dog, which means we’re expected to grow into large, strong, and loyal companions. With our playful personalities and affectionate nature, we’re ready to grow up in loving forever homes that can keep up with our energy and big hearts. Could one of us be the perfect addition to your family? Local adoption fee is $250(in TX) Out of state adoption fee is $550 (includes transport to your area)
