Story
Flint is a 40 pound, 5 month old Pyrenees/Lab mix. This handsome boy is deliciously soft and strikingly handsome. True to his Pyr heritage, he is initially a bit wary of strangers and will bark a little when first meeting new people. He warms up quickly, however, and will soon be in their lap and giving plenty of kisses! Flint adores his people and is a delicious snuggler! His favorite is a cuddle on the couch in the evening, and he does think he's a lap dog! Flint is obsessed with the other dogs in his foster home and would love a canine sibling in his new home. He follows the other dogs in his foster home around and likes to climb on top of them for a cuddle or a wrestle. Flint is still a mouthy puppy but redirects well to his toys. He enjoys playing with his toys and can often be found carrying a favorite around with his head held high and whole body wiggling. This cutie is very much in his puppy phase and needs to be monitored well and properly stimulated so he does not get into trouble. Flint likes to be outside and would love a home with a fenced yard. He is crate trained, housetrained if kept on a schedule, walks well on leash, and knows "sit". Flint is food motivated and very trainable. He will brighten the lives of a very lucky family! Thank you so much for your interest in adopting a dog from A New Chance Animal Rescue (https://anewchancear.org). We are a 501c3, tax deductible organization. All fields on the application must be completed. Please read about the adoption process (https://www.anewchancear.org/adopt/our-adoption-process/) so you'll know what to expect when you submit. Our dogs are in foster care and we do NOT have a shelter or boarding facility. AN APPLICATION MUST BE COMPLETED IN FULL AND APPROVED BEFORE A DOG CAN BE MET. This is a firm policy. Our busy volunteers are not able to respond to questions about the dog or dog meeting requests in the absence of an application. We know these dogs very well because they are in foster care. We provide medical care including vaccinations, testing, deworming, spaying/neutering and microchipping before transporting our dogs. These costs are high and the number of lives we can save is entirely dependent upon donations from people like you. We do not receive funding from private foundations or government sources. If you can find room in your heart to help us, with any amount, we are truly grateful (https://www.anewchancear.org/help/donate/). We are a 501c3 organization, so all donations are tax-deductible. Story
Hi there, I’m Thumper, a 1-year-old 45 lb Great Pyrenees. I may only have three legs, but that doesn’t slow me down at all. I’m a sweet and energetic pup with a gorgeous coat and an even bigger heart. I love being around people and kids, and I’m already picking up lots of good manners! I know how to sit when asked and am getting better at coming when called. I’m almost housetrained, too—just a little more practice, and I’ll have it mastered. I’m a smart, eager-to-learn pup who thrives with patience and training. And let’s be honest—I’ll do just about anything for some attention and a good scratch from my favorite humans. If you’re looking for a resilient, affectionate companion who’s always ready to bring joy into your life, I could be the perfect fit. I can’t wait to find a forever family who’ll see just how special I am! Thank you so much for your interest in adopting a dog from A New Chance Animal Rescue (https://anewchancear.org). Hi, I’m Bambi, a 1-year-old 44 lb Great Pyrenees with the most beautiful golden eyes you’ve ever seen—they even look like they’re lined with eyeliner! I’m calm, gentle and although a bit reserved at first I love spending time with people, especially kids. I already know how to sit when you ask and am getting better at coming when called—I’m a smart girl who’s eager to learn and would love to keep working on new commands with you! I’m also housetrained, which makes me a great addition to any home. Whether we’re spending quiet time together or exploring the great outdoors, I’d love to be your loyal companion. If you’re looking for a calm, smart, and stunning dog to join your family, I’m your girl. Are you ready to make my dreams of a forever home come true? Story
Hey there! I’m Penny, an 11-month-old Great Pyrenees mix with a playful spirit and a heart full of love! At 50 pounds, I’m the perfect mix of big enough for adventures and cuddly enough to snuggle up on the couch. I absolutely adore people and love giving kisses to show just how much you mean to me. If you’re looking for a sweet, affectionate companion, I think we’d make a great team. I’m still a young pup, so I love to play! Whether it’s running around the yard or playing with other dogs, I’m always up for some fun. I already know how to sit, and I’m eager to learn more if you have some treats and patience. After a good play session, I’m all about cuddles. There’s nothing better than curling up close and soaking up all the love and attention. I’m ready to find a family who’ll cherish my affectionate, playful personality and give me the forever home I’ve been waiting for! Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.Baylor (AL) is possibly a male Great Pyrenees mix estimated to be 16 weeks old at the time of intake in July 2024. Baylor is up to date on core vaccinations (age-appropriate) and is microchipped and neutered.  Baylor is good with people and other dogs.  Baylor's stunning good looks and gorgeous eyes will turn your heart to mush!   Baylor is a doofy, fun, playful, happy boy who thinks the world is his playspace. He has no idea that he's homeless or came close to losing his life in a shelter. He's just looking for love in a forever family. Baylor is a very good boy. He's super smart, eager to please, and very treat motivated - a great combo for easy training.  He's crate trained and sleeps through the night in his crate. He knows sit, paw, spin, touch, and he's learning to walk on leash. He's also learning that "jumping will get you nowhere.". Baylor would likely be happier living life in the suburbs rather than the big city. He's interested in meeting new people, and he is quite a charmer. He can be a bit nervous meeting new dogs, especially if they run up on him, so his Person will need to learn his body language and create space for him when he is scared.Baylor would be happy in a home with or without other dogs. If he's in a home with other dogs, ideally there would at least be one confident dog to help show him the ropes. He's a pretty typical adolescent pup, he pushes boundaries wherever he finds opportunities This can be managed by limiting access to opportunities through a structured environment. He'd thrive in a quiet-ish but active home, and would be great with older kids and/or dog savvy kids (he easily gets overwhelmed if there's a lot of chaos). He is more comfortable eating in his crate so he can feel safe, but this may not be necessary once he settles in and gains confidence. If you would like this super cute boy to take his place in your family,  please apply online to adopt Baylor (AL) at www.rescuedogsrocknyc.org. His adoption fee is $575.  Given technical constraints on this database, this pet's location may not be as listed here. We can, however, provide transport support for pets in foster at a considerable distance from the adopter.      Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.November 8, 2024, 10:48 am

Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.Alex (GA) is a male Great Pyrenees mix rescued in Georgia, estimated to be 7 months old in October 2021 and likely to be 85-95 pounds when full-grown. His foster mom says he is a 'giant, crazy and insanely happy puppy!' All people are his friends (he especially loves men!), he loves other dogs, and even likes cats.  Alex will do best in a suburban home with a fenced yard and an energetic doggy companion on the larger side who wants to play much of the day. He loves to eat as much as he loves to play. If there are children in the home, they should be on the older side: Alex really doesn't know how big he is!  He's working on his chewing, mouthing, leash and meal-time manners - the usual puppy behaviors which will benefit from continued and consistent training in his adoptive home as he grows into adulthood. True to his breed, he can be stubborn, he is very smart and his big personality matches his size. He has a true zest for life, so he's a fun, interesting and busy guy!  Alex has been neutered and microchipped, and will be up to date on core vaccines (age appropriate) at time of adoption. If you would like to take Alex home, please apply online to adopt Alex (GA) at www.rescuedogsrocknyc.org.Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.November 5, 2024, 10:34 am
