Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. Hi! I'm Ludo, a big and beautiful Great Pyrenees. Currently, I share my home with a Dachshund, a Cocker Spaniel, and a kitty in Minneapolis. After slow introductions, I have learned to be gentle with the little animals I’m sharing a home with. I get along with dogs of all sizes and breeds with proper and slow introductions. I would love a companion more my size to play with, but I would also be fine as an only dog. I don’t have a lot of energy, but I love to go for leisurely walks. I walk beautifully on a leash. I do not pull. I’m patient. I wait nicely when we need to stop, and I’m very polite to other people and dogs walking.  My favorite hobbies are laying outside in the snow and cooling off after a long day of chewing on bones and, lounging on my dog bed in the sunspot, looking into the backyard. I enjoy playing alone in the backyard by throwing toys up in the air and catching them. I’ve learned that car rides take me to fun places, and I love to sit in the back and look out the window. I love to snuggle! Mom won’t let me on the furniture. She says I’m too big. But that doesn’t stop me from snuggling as close as possible at all times. I love to be around people. True to my breed, I love to patrol the backyard and guard from any possible threats. I have a big warning woof if I think someone or something may look suspicious. Occasionally, I startle while I’m sleeping and give off a big woof out of nowhere, but I think the bad dreams will stop once I’m comfortable and feel safe. I’m a big boy! 70 pounds of pure floof. I’m a perfect gentleman in the house. I don’t have accidents and can be left out to roam at night from 9 pm to 6 am with no trouble at all. I’m working on kennel training. It’s a little scary for me, but I now go in there nicely and even have dinner in my kennel now! I’m quickly learning that is my safe space. I would do well in a home that will continue to work with my training. I’m only 1 year old, and have lots of potential and love to learn!    When Ludo first arrived in rescue we noticed a slight limp. After seeing a specialist and having a physical exam and diagnostics performed, Ludo was confirmed to have bilateral hip dysplasia with a left femoral head luxation. In addition, his right femur has previously been fractured. Surgery is not recommended at this time but Ludo will likely need to be on pain medication and joint supplements as needed/ lifelong. It would be best for Ludo to be in a home with not too many stairs. Adopter should discuss with primary vet on proceeding with surgery if needed in the future.   If you are interested in getting to know Ludo better, please fill out an adoption application. Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. Pizza is a beautiful, affectionate dog who loves attention and being close to his people. He’s incredibly sweet and loyal, often seeking your approval when outdoors—it’s truly heartwarming! He enjoys cuddling, belly rubs, and will even use his nose to nudge your hand onto him for some extra comfort. Pizza also loves to snuggle up in bed with our kids and is always looking to be near someone he trusts. While Pizza is very loving, he can be shy and reserved when first meeting new people, especially men. He needs some time and space to feel safe. A patient family who understands his need to retreat and adjust at his own pace would be a great match for him. Having a confident dog sibling will really help boost his confidence. Right now, he’s scared of cats, but that might change over time with a slow introduction. Pizza is a wonderful companion who will thrive in a calm, understanding home that gives him the time he needs to feel comfortable. Once he feels secure, his loving and cuddly personality will really shine. Click here to see a cute video of Pizza enjoying some time outside! Pizza is from a local reservation. Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. Novalee is a confident, smart, and energetic puppy who’s ready to join an active family! Novalee was part of a litter of six puppies rescued from a tough situation. Her mama had been dumped in the country in Texas, but luckily a kind woman took them in and gave them the chance to grow up safe and loved. Novalee is a playful and assertive little girl who loves attention and enjoys playing outside. She thrives in environments where she can get plenty of exercise and stimulation, so she’d be a great fit for a family that enjoys outdoor activities. She would also do well with a playful, older dog to show her the ropes and help burn off some of her boundless energy. Because she’s still a puppy, Novalee will need some training, including house training and crate training, and she’ll benefit from having a yard to play and explore. While she’s been around kids and gets along well with them, Novalee is still learning how to manage her excitement and may accidentally knock over younger children. Older kids who can keep up with her playful nature would be a great fit! Novalee is a loving, active puppy with loads of potential, and she’s looking for a home that can give her the time, attention, and training she needs to grow into the wonderful dog she’s meant to be. If you’re looking for a playful companion, Novalee might just be the one for you! Novalee is from Texas.  If you are interested in getting to know this animal better, please fill out an adoption application.
