Story
Hello, My name is Wesley. I am about 8 weeks old and I am a Great Pyrenese/German Shepard mix. I am still very young and not fully potty trained however I am working on it. I do very well in the kennel while my foster mom is away at work. I have only had 1 accident in the kennel in the week that I have been at my current foster. If you let me run around the house and do not gait off certain areas I may have an accident from being just too excited playing so please take me outside regularly. I love being outside and if I have enough time to run off my puppy energy I enjoy naps in my kennel for a couple hours at a time. I have slept in my kennel overnight but will wake you up early to go to the bathroom and or for breakfast. I do enjoy sleeping through the night snuggled in bed. I have been around kids of all ages and very much enjoy playing with everyone. Just please remember that I am also still a teething puppy so will chew and bite on things including fingers and toes but do not do so to harm you. I have not been around cats as my current foster home I am in the kitty does not want to come out and play. I already walk very well on a leash and love taking walks to get some energy out. I also do very well on car rides. I like to go with my foster mom whenever she needs to run an errand and I sit very nicely on laps. Being a puppy please be mindful that I have a high energy level. I love to play play play and wrestle my brother but once it is nap time I look forward to all of the snuggles. Overall I am a sweet, fun, loving and cute little guy who loves kisses and snuggles looking for my forever home.  Adoption fee includes: Full veterinary exam, Alter, Prepaid microchip, Dewormed, Rabies vaccine (if age appropriate), Distemper combo vaccine(s) appropriate to age, Bordetella vaccine, 4DX (over 6 months of age), Flea/tick and heartworm preventative while in rescue. Adoption fee: $595.00 Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.November 20, 2024, 9:30 am

Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. Hi, I’m Annie! I have been with my foster family for a week now and feel like I can start to show my personality. I’m shy to start, but happy to meet and take pets from anyone. I’m a pretty big girl (mostly just hair, if you ask me) but I don’t jump up on them or cover them with kisses. I’ll take a few pets then find a place to relax. I haven’t shown them that I love to cuddle yet, but I certainly like to be in the same room with them. If you’re around, I’ll hang out and take a snooze by you. If you ask my fosters, they’ll laugh and say I snore like a chainsaw. It’s really just my big dog purr. Crate trained? Check that box! My big crate is my safe place here. I spend the night in there with the door closed without a complaint. During the day, if I need a comfy spot, they leave the door open and I go in and out throughout the day. House trained? Yes. I did have one accident here, but I don’t think they knew my “schedule”. Am I leash trained? Um, well, yes if you’re fine going where I want when I feel like it. Otherwise, not so much. You’re welcome to clip it on me and we can go outside, but apparently I’m stronger than I realize and it takes some effort to redirect me. We’re working on it though. I’ll update you if I make some improvements here. Other dogs? You bet, I’m good with it if they are. I came from a home with two other dogs. I do good with one resident dog here, I’ve done well with other dogs in a neutral setting, but the other resident dog here has some uncomfortable energy and territory challenges. I guess we’re slowly working into that one, but we’ll get there. Toys? Yeah, they’re OK. I hate to use up too much energy chasing a ball, but I’ll give it a couple minutes. Overall, I’m just your average low-maintenance chick. I don’t ask for much. A little food, water, a pet once in a while and someone to hang out with. If you’re home and behind doors where I can be around you, I will demonstrate my howling skills to let you know I miss you. If you happen to have one of these camera things on me that you can talk through, tell me to lay down and I will. Thanks for reading this far and please consider me if you’re looking for a relaxed chick companion with lots of loving left. Adopting a senior dog is like getting a vintage car – it comes with character, a few extra quirks, and might need a bit more maintenance. Expect occasional tune ups at the vet for oil changes (aka meds), and embrace the fact that those 'normal lumps and bumps' are just part of the well-earned charm package! Ruff Start will share all known health information with adopters and rec ommendations to keep your senior dog in top shape. Annie is from a local impound.  If you are interested in getting to know this animal better, please fill out an adoption application. An adoption application is the best way to show your interest in an animal and is not a binding contract. To learn more about Ruff Start’s adoption process and the care our foster animals receive, please visit our How to Adopt page. If you are unable to adopt but want to help this animal and others in our care, you can donate to support the medical and veterinary needs of all Ruff Start Rescue animals.
