You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. //   Find our applications at www.midwestanimalrescue.orgAdoption Fee: $300 plus tax Friendly! Not treat motivated  No accidents No separation anxiety  Dwight would do best in an active home (His foster believes a home without younger children would be ideal) Loves to be outside  Goes on errands with his Foster like Home Depot runs and Petco visits One time Dwight saw a mannequin and nuzzled it's hand so it would 'pet' him - Cute!! Dwight would like everyone who sees him to say hi  Dwight is a handsome Great Pyrenees and Border Collie mix! He loves dog parks and playing outside, rolling in the grass. He will do well in a fenced property or farm. He is leash trained, muzzle trained, and crate trained, however, the door often remains open. He’s a quick learner. He’s a little over 2 years old and shy of 100 pounds. He knows no, wait, down, paw, gentle, bed, belly, “get it” to eat, and sit with many more things he’s still perfecting. He loves the butt scratches but when he is sleeping her prefers to be left alone. He can sometimes be a little protective of his chew bones or food. He doesn’t play fetch but he loves chasing a laser like a cat. He prefers humans to chase him as a way of playing. He came from a home with two adults and should not go to a home with children. He’s used to a more quiet space and doesn’t do very well with loud noises. He did a great job outside watching his previous owner in his work shop. He does a great job being an outside guard dog, that’s definitely the Great Pyrenees in him. He loves to work and play. He has a ton of energy.     Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.  or    *The pet you are viewing is a rescued pet which is most often from an animal control facility and does not come with a pedigree. The breed(s) listed are our best guess and are in no way guaranteed. Story
Kit has been in rescue for over one year & celebrated her 2nd birthday (9/29) by showing foster mom a new trick. She is almost always the first one to come in when called. This is a huge milestone because she was so skittish when arriving into rescue that she would run away anytime she was approached or called to come in. She now has a perfect routine after 18 months, but it has been slow progress.  She loves getting pets & has been enjoying belly rubs as of recent. Kit loves other dogs but tends to be very dominant and a little snappy when meeting new dogs for the first time. She would be fine with a dog that is less dominant or with a patient alpha, who will gently show her who’s in charge. She would also be fine as an only dog. She absolutely loves puppies & is very gentle, so the perfect scenario may be that she is the first dog & another is added at some point. She cannot be around small animals, such as birds, cats, or chickens, as her prey drive is HIGH. We have chickens & she’s gotten into them this summer with unfortunate outcomes for the chickens. She definitely needs a fenced yard because her absolute favorite thing to do is run! She will frolic & play for as long as she can. She loves long walks, soft toys & sleeping on the couch or in bed. She doesn’t need to be kenneled although when she is in new places, she may chew on things she is not supposed to, such as socks, pillows, and cushions. She has not done this in a very long time but it is a nervous response for her. She would love a home where she could have more one on one attention as she doesn’t ask for much.  Due to her cautious nature, older, respectful kids would be best. She will take time and patience to adjust to a new environment but when she does the little things will reward you tenfold. She's been in rescue long enough and would love a home of her own!   Adoption fee includes: Full veterinary exam, alter, prepaid microchip, dewormed, Rabies vaccine, DAPP vaccine, Bordetella vaccine, 4DX , flea/tick and heartworm preventative while in rescue. Adoption fee: $525.00 Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.November 5, 2024, 5:33 pm

Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. //   Find our applications at www.midwestanimalrescue.orgAdoption Fee: $350 plus taxHello, my name is Bob! I’m an 85 pound, 1 yr 3-month old Great Pyrenees x Saint Bernard mix. I love going to stores like Fleet Farm and Home Depot for visiting and training. While I’m out and about I love meeting new people and children especially if they give me treats! I'm a huge fan of couch cuddles, paw rubs, and looking out the window at squirrels.  I’m fully potted trained and proud to say I passed puppy and basic obedience class with flying colors.   I’m looking for an active family that has a fenced backyard so I can roam and spend lots of time in the sunshine.  I’m used to walking 1.5 to 3 miles daily and would love to continue that routine. I would also like a family that is home a lot and not gone for 7+ hours a day. I’m learning kennel training now and doing very well. I would prefer to be with a family that has a medium to large adult dog that is calm, or to be an only child. High-energy dogs make me nervous, and I don’t like that kind of high level of stimulation. I’m not a fan of cats even though I think they look like toys to play with. I may have a loud bark when I see a dog or bike rider outside my window, but I am very loyal and want to protect my family and let them know what I see. Even though I am very gentle with people and little children, I would like someone who has experience with my breed and is a good pack leader for me to follow. If you think I would be a great fit for your family I would love to meet you! Story
Hello, My name is Jean. I am about 8 weeks old and I am a Great Pyrenese/German Shepard mix. I am still very young and not fully potty trained however I am working on it. I do very well in the kennel while my foster mom is away at work. I have only had 1 accident in the kennel in the week that I have been at my current foster. If you let me run around the house and do not gait off certain areas I may have an accident from being just too excited playing so please take me outside regularly. I love being outside and if I have enough time to run off my puppy energy I enjoy naps in my kennel for a couple hours at a time. I have slept in my kennel overnight but will wake you up early to go to the bathroom and or for breakfast. I do enjoy sleeping through the night snuggled in bed. I have been around kids of all ages and very much enjoy playing with everyone. Just please remember that I am also still a teething puppy so will chew and bite on things including fingers and toes but do not do so to harm you. I have not been around cats as my current foster home I am in the kitty does not want to come out and play. I already walk very well on a leash and love taking walks to get some energy out. I also do very well on car rides. I like to go with my foster mom whenever she needs to run an errand and I sit very nicely on laps. Being a puppy please be mindful that I have a high energy level. I love to play play play and wrestle my brother but once it is nap time I look forward to all of the snuggles. Overall I am a sweet, fun, loving and cute little guy who loves kisses and snuggles looking for my forever home.  Adoption fee includes: Full veterinary exam, Alter, Prepaid microchip, Dewormed, Rabies vaccine (if age appropriate), Distemper combo vaccine(s) appropriate to age, Bordetella vaccine, 4DX (over 6 months of age), Flea/tick and heartworm preventative while in rescue. Story
Hi, I'm Scotty! I am a Pyrenees/German Shepherd Mix and at 7 weeks old I am 16 pounds. I will be a big boy! I’m working very hard at potty training right now but have had a few accidents. I try very hard to let my foster mom know when I have to go potty but sometimes I can’t hold it. I’m doing very well in my kennel at night and during the day when my foster mom leaves. I cry for a couple of minutes but stop to go to sleep. I love playing with my foster siblings and running around outside with them. I’m not sure if I’m okay with cats yet. I’m very suspicious of the vacuum so I try to hide from it but I’m slowly getting used to the noise. I’m still learning to walk on a leash and am doing well so far, but sometimes I do like to stop and bite my leash. I have lots and lots of energy but take lots of naps during the day to recharge. My favorite thing to do so far is play outside with my sister and foster siblings and play with tennis balls. I am very excited to look for my forever family and am excited to meet new people! Adoption fee includes: Full veterinary exam, Alter, Prepaid microchip, Dewormed, Rabies vaccine (if age appropriate), Distemper combo vaccine(s) appropriate to age, Bordetella vaccine, 4DX (over 6 months of age), Flea/tick and heartworm preventative while in rescue.
