Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. Highland has been soaking up love and learning since birth in her Texas foster home, and it shows. She’s smart, eager to please, and already picking up on training at just three months old. The Great Pyrenees in her is easy to see—goofy, gentle, independent yet deeply attached to her people. She’s got the softest fur around her neck and expressive eyes that make it clear she’s full of love. She adores other dogs, following them around and always trying to keep up, though she’s still learning when playtime is over. She’d do well with another playful dog or an active family—especially one with kids to chase. She loves the outdoors, running, jumping, and taking in the world around her. Highland is still working on potty training, which is to be expected at 3 months. She also can sometimes be a chatty girl —she "talks" in soft sounds and barks when really excited. She protests the kennel at first but is learning to settle more quickly each time. She will be a large dog and needs a home ready for a big, loving, and adventurous companion. Whether she’s placing a paw on your arm just to be close or pouncing into playtime with fearless enthusiasm, Highland is ready to be a loyal, loving part of the family. Highland is from Texas. They arrive in Minnesota on 03/08/2025 and will need to be picked up from the Ruff Start Rescue office in Princeton, MN between the hours of 4:30 and 8pm. Please plan for their arrival accordingly as we cannot accommodate pickups outside of this time frame.  Since they haven’t arrived yet, they are available exclusively through Ruff Start’s Foster to Adopt (FTA) Program. Click here to learn more about the FTA program. Once they get to Minnesota, they might require further veterinary care. Ruff Start’s veterinary suite is located in Princeton, MN, and, as the foster, you will be required to transport your dog to and from these vetting appointments. If you are interested in getting to know this animal better, please fill out an adoption application. An adoption application is the best way to show your interest in an animal and is not a binding contract. To learn more about Ruff Start’s adoption process and the care our foster animals receive, please visit our How to Adopt page. *Rescue puppies are notorious for losing their birth certificates before entering our rescue. We cannot guarantee the breed or size they will be full grown.* If you are unable to adopt but want to help this animal and others in our care, you can donate to support the medical and veterinary needs of all Ruff Start Rescue animals.   Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.February 26, 2025, 5:25 pm

Story
Genevieve is a very sweet and wonderful girl. She is a livestock guardian here on my farm. She has had some issues with escaping the fence by going underneath it. She loves to visit the neighbors and as a result, they have complained. I love her dearly - she is very gentle and kind. She loves to play with her packmates and attention from humans. She has been with cattle for the past 6 months and done a wonderful job as a livestock guardian. Genevieve is currently 11 months - she was born on 4/5/2024. She has current rabies and bordetella vaccinations. She is still intact since typically they are not spayed until their first heat cycle. She has spent some time inside and does well in a crate though being a livestock guardian, she is not frequently in the crate.

Story
Peregrine is a wonderful boy! He has been raised with his parents and siblings on a farm with lots of space to run and play. Both of his parents are OFA heart certified, hips, elbows and patella luxation certified, and genetic tested to ensure they breed happy, healthy pups! Peregrine loves to play in the water and chase a ball. Peregrine is feisty and would be an amazing guardian or companion to someone who will give him exercise. He loves to be pet and interacted with. If you let him, he would love to be a lapdog. As he has started to grow up, he is settling into a calm boy with strong working instincts. Overall, he is an absolute sweetheart and has certainly stolen our hearts! Parry is current on Rabies and bordetella vaccinations. All tags and vet records available. Parry works as a farm dog and has livestock experience. I have too many dogs here on my farm and he needs a home that will love him forever.

Story
Location: Jordan, MN Buddy has had a rough start but he is learning how to be a dog! Slow introductions to other dogs is important and would do best with a submissive dog or as an only dog. Buddy does well with cats and would do best with older kids/no kids. He is learning how to respect other dogs at all times. He is potty trained and walks great on a leash. He is easy going and loves to "talk in the morning when we first wake up. He loves hanging out with people and being lazy together! He is just a wonderful boy who has lots of love to give but is learning boundaries as he was never taught and lived on a chain since he was a puppy. ----- The best way to show interest in an animal is to submit an adoption application by visiting our website (www.rescuenetworkmn.org). Adoption fee includes spay/neuter, all age-appropriate vaccinations (distemper, rabies, and bordetella), heartworm and flea/tick preventatives, heartworm test (dogs), FIV/FeLV test (cats), dewormed, and microchip implant (including registration). Rescue Network is strictly foster based which means all adoptable animals are in a home and there cannot be a meet until an application is submitted and approved. We have no way of knowing the breeds in the animals. All breeds listed are best guess.

You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. //   Find our applications at www.midwestanimalrescue.orgAdoption Fee: $300 plus tax Friendly! Not treat motivated  No accidents No separation anxiety  Dwight would do best in an active home (His foster believes a home without younger children or another resident dog would be ideal) Loves to be outside  Goes on errands with his Foster like Home Depot runs and Petco visits One time Dwight saw a mannequin and nuzzled it's hand so it would 'pet' him - Cute!! Dwight would like everyone who sees him to say hi  Dwight is a handsome Great Pyrenees and Border Collie mix! He loves dog parks and playing outside, rolling in the grass. He will do well in a fenced property or farm. He is leash trained, muzzle trained, and crate trained, however, the door often remains open. He’s a quick learner. He’s a little over 2 years old and shy of 100 pounds. He knows no, wait, down, paw, gentle, bed, belly, “get it” to eat, and sit with many more things he’s still perfecting. He loves the butt scratches but when he is sleeping her prefers to be left alone. He can sometimes be a little protective of his chew bones or food. He doesn’t play fetch but he loves chasing a laser like a cat. He prefers humans to chase him as a way of playing. He came from a home with two adults and should not go to a home with children. He’s used to a more quiet space and doesn’t do very well with loud noises. He did a great job outside watching his previous owner in his work shop. He does a great job being an outside guard dog, that’s definitely the Great Pyrenees in him. He loves to work and play. He has a ton of energy.     Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.  or    *The pet you are viewing is a rescued pet which is most often from an animal control facility and does not come with a pedigree. The breed(s) listed are our best guess and are in no way guaranteed. Sometimes the pets appear to be a particular breed(s) in the pictures we receive from our rescue partners and when they arrive we are surprised to see an entirely different breed(s) in person!  If you choose to DNA test your adopted pet, test results may vary from company to company and our breed guess may not be reflected in those results as it is just that, our best guess. It is with deep longing that we wish there was a breed called 'cute' as we believe all of our dogs would fall under this new breed classification! Completion of an Adoption Application via our website www.midwestanimalrescue.org is the best way to show your interest in an animal and is the first step in our adoption process.  *Animals who are not fully vaccinated and altered are not eligible for long distance adoption. When you adopt a pet from Midwest Animal Rescue and Services, your adoption fee covers: Microchip and registration, Core Vaccines including Rabies, Distemper and bordetella, age appropriate heartworm testing or FeLV-FIV testing, sterilization, heartworm/flea-tick prevention and deworming while in foster care.  Adoption fees are non-negotiable and can be paid by cashier's check, money order or credit card. We do not accept personal checks. Any issues that arise after adoption are the full responsibility of the adopter after the finalization of adoption. Adoption fees are only part of the expense of owning a pet, so we ask you to consider the costs for the life of the pet before adoption. We recommend pet insurance. //

Story
Kit has been in rescue for over one year & celebrated her 2nd birthday (9/29) by showing foster mom a new trick. She is almost always the first one to come in when called. This is a huge milestone because she was so skittish when arriving into rescue that she would run away anytime she was approached or called to come in. She now has a perfect routine after 18 months, but it has been slow progress.  She loves getting pets & has been enjoying belly rubs as of recent. Kit loves other dogs but tends to be very dominant and a little snappy when meeting new dogs for the first time. She would be fine with a dog that is less dominant or with a patient alpha, who will gently show her who’s in charge. She would also be fine as an only dog. She absolutely loves puppies & is very gentle, so the perfect scenario may be that she is the first dog & another is added at some point. She cannot be around small animals, such as birds, cats, or chickens, as her prey drive is HIGH. We have chickens & she’s gotten into them this summer with unfortunate outcomes for the chickens. She definitely needs a fenced yard because her absolute favorite thing to do is run! She will frolic & play for as long as she can. She loves long walks, soft toys & sleeping on the couch or in bed. She doesn’t need to be kenneled although when she is in new places, she may chew on things she is not supposed to, such as socks, pillows, and cushions. She has not done this in a very long time but it is a nervous response for her. She would love a home where she could have more one on one attention as she doesn’t ask for much.  Due to her cautious nature, older, respectful kids would be best. She will take time and patience to adjust to a new environment but when she does the little things will reward you tenfold. She's been in rescue long enough and would love a home of her own!   Adoption fee includes: Full veterinary exam, alter, prepaid microchip, dewormed, Rabies vaccine, DAPP vaccine, Bordetella vaccine, 4DX , flea/tick and heartworm preventative while in rescue. Adoption fee: $525.00 Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.February 17, 2025, 2:47 pm
