Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. *A generous supporter has covered part of Ludo's adoption fee to help him find a loving home.* Hi, I’m Ludo! I’m looking for a calm, loving home where I can be your loyal companion and hang out by your side. I walk beautifully on a leash, never pulling, and I’m polite to people and dogs we meet. I enjoy leisurely strolls, lounging in sunny spots, and patrolling the backyard to ensure everything is safe and sound. True to my breed, I take my job as your guardian very seriously, and I’ll let out a big “woof” if something seems suspicious. At home, I’m a perfect gentleman. I don’t have accidents. I’m not a big fan of being alone, but I do much better when I have a dog buddy to keep me company though having another dog in the home isn't a requirement. If left on my own, I might rearrange some items—I just like to keep busy! When it’s time to eat, I’m super polite, patiently waiting for my bowl to be filled. However, I do have some food-guarding quirks: I’d prefer you don’t take my food away once I have it—it’s my treasure, after all! I get along well with dogs and cats, and while I’m not really into toys, I’m always up for spending time with you. My ideal home would be a quiet, laid-back one with no kids, perhaps with a retired individual or couple. If you’re looking for a gentle, devoted companion to keep you company and share life’s quiet moments, I could be your guy. When Ludo first arrived in rescue we noticed a slight limp. After seeing a specialist and having a physical exam and diagnostics performed, Ludo was confirmed to have bilateral hip dysplasia with a left femoral head luxation. In addition, his right femur has previously been fractured. Surgery is not recommended at this time but Ludo will likely need to be on pain medication and joint supplements as needed/ lifelong. It would be best for Ludo to be in a home with not too many stairs. Adopter should discuss with primary vet on proceeding with surgery if needed in the future.
