Story
Welcome Athena to CCPAL Rescue. She is a 2-year Great Pyrenees. She weighs about 90 pounds. She has a beautiful coat and the typical extra back toes commonly found in this breed. This is a guardian breed dog. They naturally will protect their flock or family. This breed will do best in a fully fenced yard as they will roam away if there is no fence. She is good with other dogs and will need some more leash work. She would be great with someone that knows the breed and loves it. She should have the natural tendencies of this breed. She had puppies and we adopted them out. We also adopted out the larger male that was found with her as a stray. She would be fine with children. We like them to be 8 or older. She is up on her vaccines, healthy, spayed and ready for her forever home. She is currently in Texas and can be adopted locally or we can work with one of the wonderful transporters to get her to Washington, Portland (Oregon), Minnesota, Vermont or all along the East Coast. Her adoption fee is 300 and transport is 200. Contact Marlene at 210-867-1769 or email ccpalinquiries@gmail.com if you have questions. Online applications at www.ccpal.info/ See her cute video!!

Story
Howdy y'all, my name is Cowboy. My hobbies include sitting like a gentleman, keeping you company while you work, eating cheese, and pawing in puddles. I recently had ear canal surgery in one of my ears, so you will gave to speak clearly when telling me what a handsome boy I am. I am potty trained and kennel trained and love to nap all day. I can sit and am working on shake, but if you share your snacks, I am a fast learner.I love my people and will be a great companion. I prefer not to share food or toys, so I will need to be the Lone Ranger in your home. I’m about 6 years old and weigh 70 pounds, I’m basically a big couch potato. I can’t wait to ride off into the sunset with you!(Formerly known as Yeti)IMPORTANT: Please read all below, especially if you live outside of Texas, which is where our rescue is located.Apply to adopt on our website: https://www.charmingpetrescue.org/adoptAll of our animals are spayed/neutered, microchipped, and up to date on shots.ALL of our animals are located in Boerne, TX, but transport after adoption is available to other states for a $300 fee for dogs or an additional fee varying by location for cats. If you are seeing our pets posted in your state, that's because you live near a transport stop, they are not currently at that location. Petfinder lists our pets as 'Out of Town' pets at other locations, and Adopt-a-Pet lists our location as a Transport stop. Those are currently the only options they offer to make this clear, so we put this description we've put at the bottom to explain it. You can read more about transport here: www.charmingpetrescue.org/transportWe understand transport is not an option for everyone, but we offer it at the cost we pay the transport company for those who wish to adopt from us.October 17, 2024, 3:27 pm

Grits and determination!! That is the saying, right? To get anywhere you must have grits and determination?? Grits are good for you, ask any Southern mama :) You guessed it, my name is Grits and I have a LOT of determination! I came from the pound with HORRIFIC injuries related to a multiple dog attack :( And boy I was in pain and had horrible infections and was so so skinny and just sad... But the rescue peeps fixed me up! It took several weeks of LOVE, good nutrition, wound care and "heart repair" to return my zest for life and to see the glimmer of hope in my eyes... Now I am all fixed up, healthy and happy and READY for you!! Don't ever let me be out on the streets again, fighting off other dogs to live. Give me your COUCH, an air conditioner and lots of love and treats and I will be yours FUREVER!!! And speaking of fur, well, you know I am a Great Pyrenees and we SHED great amounts, so you must love me more than my hair!!! Local adoption fee is $200 (in TX) Out of state adoption fee is $400 (includes transport to your area, $50 temporary fuel fee will be included)

WE ARE A TX BASED RESCUE. THIS DOG IS CURRENTLY LOCATED IN TX AND WILL BE TRANSPORTED UPON ADOPTION. Please fill out an adoption application found at haydudeequine.org Gordie is in a neighboring rescue that is having a family emergency. If you are interested in adopting him, we will bring him into Hay Dude to complete the adoption. Gordie - You are the bridge between what was and what will be, my pathway to a new life! My name is Gordie and I didn't come from the best situation. I was very malnourished (60lbs) and still need some extra groceries to be at my ideal weight. As a result I can have somewhat of some food resource guarding with my meals. It would be best to work on this with me but to also feed me separately. With those extra nutrients my coat will be gorgeous in no time! I'm only around 11 months of age, so still very much a youngster yet. With my start in this life I'm sure looking forward to a fresh start with a family that will love me and make me feel safe. I'm looking forward to just being able to be a pup and enjoy all there is in this big ole world like being your adventure buddy!!! I do get along great with people but would probably do best in a home with children that are older (8+). I also do good with other pups and would make a pawsome playmate for a 4 legged 'sibling' but I would also do just as great getting all the attention as your one and only! I'm a sweet boy with a heart of gold who would love to find my forever home. Could it be with YOU?!! You just need to fill out my adoption application found at haydudeequine.org UPDATE - My new photo shoot!! Just a few weeks have done wonders for me. I have gained a few pounds and my coat is growing in beautifully!! I really think I'm gonna turn into a real stud muffin :)

Story
Meet Duke! Duke was a sad stray found wandering a rural neighborhood in the 105 degree weather of July... Duke had very little fur so was sunburned and so skinny he barely had strength to walk. But let us tell you, he recovered very quickly! He loves other dogs and has so much fuzzy hair, he is one handsome dude! And he is a little silly and happy and just ready for his furever home! We have to tell you, that he responds to "Princess Duke" more than Duke :) He is just a sweet sweet boy who thinks he is royalty, and he IS!! He wags his tail (ok, his whole body) is glad to see us and happy to play with other dogs- big and small :) He is the most loving dog you will ever meet. When he looks at you, you can see how grateful he is to be alive and loved... Duke is ready for the home he longed for while he was starved and uncared for, you must be the best family ever!! He deserves nothing less :D Local adoption fee is $200 (in TX) Out of state adoption fee is $400 (includes transport to your area - $50 Temporary Fuel Charge will be added)

Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. Thank you for stopping by to see me!  Please fill out an application to set up  a private meeting.  Want to meet me? Come to Chuck & Don's Maple Grove, (115 Wedgewood Ln N Suite 1, Maple Grove, MN 55369) for an Adoption Event on Saturday, October 19th, 12:00-2:00 pm. Please email inquiries@underdogrescuemn.com for questions regarding the dogs.   Hi, I’m Orchid, a sweet and gentle Mini Bernedoodle. I’m an adult, weighing about 25 pounds, and I’m looking for a forever home where I can feel safe and loved. I’m a bit shy and anxious about new things, but I’ve come a long way since staying with my foster family. I love attention and will happily follow you around everywhere, always ready for some snuggles on the couch. Being your little shadow is kind of my thing! I get along just fine with other dogs, but I don’t mind if they aren’t around—I’m more focused on being close to you. When you’re not home, I like to settle into a comfy spot and relax. I’m a very low-energy girl, and I don’t chew on things or make a mess. Loud noises and too much commotion can be a bit scary for me, but I’m working on gaining confidence day by day. Some of my favorite treats are chicken breast and dried liver, but I haven’t really figured out toys just yet. I’m still learning about potty training, but my foster family says I’m doing great with keeping my pen clean, and I’m getting better on a schedule. I won’t ask to go outside yet, so you’ll need to keep an eye on me. I’m also learning how to walk on a leash, but it’s going to take me some time, so I’ll need a fenced yard for now. I sometimes freeze when the leash is on because new things make me nervous. Patience will be key to helping me feel more secure. I’m crate trained and do best when left in an x-pen, though I can handle a crate too. At night, I sleep peacefully in my crate next to my foster mom’s bed. I’ve met older kids and done just fine, but I think younger, rambunctious ones would be a little overwhelming for me—kids around 10 years old and up would be best. One thing I’m really proud of? I do great during grooming! Even though I get a little scared, I stand still for baths, blow dries, haircuts, and nail trims like a champ. I even enjoy being brushed while we relax and watch TV. If you have a patient heart and a cozy couch, I’d love to be your snuggle buddy as I continue learning how to be a confident and happy pup! *Please note that some of our dogs are obtained from shelters, surrendered to our care, or released from breeders. Each animal's bio is based on our experience of the animal within our care, an educated guess based on physical characteristics, temperament and information shared. Each dog receives basic grooming when coming into rescue, but for some dogs they have not received grooming attention until recently and grooming may be required shortly after adoption. This will be at the adopter’s expense, so we encourage you to research the breed and be prepared for grooming expenses. Underdog cannot guarantee hypoallergenic or non-shedding qualities of any dogs in our rescue. Some of the animals come from situations where they are lacking experience in a home and confidence in humans. In turn, they require another companion dog and/or a fenced in yard in their forever home in order for them to feel safe. If you are interested in a particular dog whose bio states those needs and do not currently have them, please understand that your home might not be the right fit. Please use the filter on our Adoptable Dogs page to find the perfect match for your home.   ***Be sure to check your spam/junk folder as sometimes our emails end up there*** Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.If you have other questions about me you can email Underdog Rescue at <inquiries@underdogrescuemn.com> ADOPTION EVENTS:      Adoption events are updated at the top of each dogs animals' as their foster home signs up. Check back for updates on which events they will be attending. If an event is not listed within their bio above, the animal is not planning to attend.  Please understand that all of our pets are in volunteer foster homes and sometimes "life" happens and the foster family cannot make it to their scheduled adoption event. If you are traveling from a far distance to meet a specific animal, please understand we cannot guarantee event attendance. We recommend filling out an application and we will set up a private appointment. Private appointments are only scheduled after an application is submitted and approved. ADOPTION PROCEDURE: The first step in our process is to complete an online adoption application on our website: http://www.underdogrescuemn.com/adoptionprocess/   Note: In most circumstances Underdog Rescue will only adopt within 60 miles of Minneapolis, MN.  All of our foster animals can be seen by appointment with an approved adoption application. Contact us at http://www.underdogrescuemn.com/contact-us/ if you have further questions. FOSTER CARE: All of our animals are fostered in individual homes or doggie daycare facilities. While they are in our care, they are part of our families and given lots of love. We work on training, crate-training and socialization prior to adoption, but each bio is written by the foster as they see them, in their home. Each animal's behavior is evaluated and we have a sense of its temperament and personality, but it cannot be guaranteed. We look for adopters who will give each animal the wonderful life and permanent home that he or she deserves in time and with patience.  If you have an interest and ability to be a foster home, please visit our website  www.underdogrescuemn.com/foster-applications  and fill out a foster application. NUTRITION: Nutrition is vital to the rehabilitation and life-long health of our pets.  All of our foster animals are fed a premium diet such as NutriSource, Canidae, Orijen, Nature's Variety, Fromm, Pure Vita, Stella and Chewy's, Primal, or balanced raw diet.  All adopters are required to continue providing premium diets for the life of the animal. YOU CAN HELP: Not able to foster or adopt right now? Please consider sponsoring an Underdog. Your donation will help us buy dog food and pay for medical costs.
