Hello my name is Styx, I'm from Minnesota! From her foster: Styx is a very sweet girl who wants nothing more than to be your best friend! She enjoys following us closely around the house, chewing on her stuffs and playing tug of war, and snuggling in bed or on the couch. She is getting used to being a part of a real family and will need someone who is available to give her regular exercise and consistent training. She is a big dog, with a big bark, and does not enjoy being kenneled or left alone. A fenced yard and no shared walls are a must. She's fantastic with our older kids! She is curious and playful towards our dog savvy cats and larger sized resident dog. She would do best in a household that is active and experienced with big dogs.

Dwight would like everyone who sees him to say hi Dwight is a handsome Great Pyrenees and Border Collie mix! He loves dog parks and playing outside, rolling in the grass. He will do well in a fenced property or farm. He is leash trained, muzzle trained, and crate trained, however, the door often remains open. He’s a quick learner. He’s a little over 2 years old and shy of 100 pounds. He knows no, wait, down, paw, gentle, bed, belly, “get it” to eat, and sit with many more things he’s still perfecting. He loves the butt scratches but when he is sleeping her prefers to be left alone. He can sometimes be a little protective of his chew bones or food. He doesn’t play fetch but he loves chasing a laser like a cat. He prefers humans to chase him as a way of playing. He came from a home with two adults and should not go to a home with children. He’s used to a more quiet space and doesn’t do very well with loud noises. He did a great job outside watching his previous owner in his work shop. He does a great job being an outside guard dog, that’s definitely the Great Pyrenees in him. He loves to work and play. He has a ton of energy. Kit has been in rescue for over one year & celebrated her 2nd birthday (9/29) by showing foster mom a new trick. She is almost always the first one to come in when called. This is a huge milestone because she was so skittish when arriving into rescue that she would run away anytime she was approached or called to come in. She now has a perfect routine after 18 months, but it has been slow progress. She loves getting pets & has been enjoying belly rubs as of recent. Kit loves other dogs but tends to be very dominant and a little snappy when meeting new dogs for the first time. She would be fine with a dog that is less dominant or with a patient alpha, who will gently show her who’s in charge. She would also be fine as an only dog. She absolutely loves puppies & is very gentle, so the perfect scenario may be that she is the first dog & another is added at some point. She cannot be around small animals, such as birds, cats, or chickens, as her prey drive is HIGH. We have chickens & she’s gotten into them this summer with unfortunate outcomes for the chickens. She definitely needs a fenced yard because her absolute favorite thing to do is run! She will frolic & play for as long as she can. She loves long walks, soft toys & sleeping on the couch or in bed. She doesn’t need to be kenneled although when she is in new places, she may chew on things she is not supposed to, such as socks, pillows, and cushions. She has not done this in a very long time but it is a nervous response for her. She would love a home where she could have more one on one attention as she doesn’t ask for much. Due to her cautious nature, older, respectful kids would be best. She will take time and patience to adjust to a new environment but when she does the little things will reward you tenfold. She's been in rescue long enough and would love a home of her own! Welcome Athena to CCPAL Rescue. She is a 2-year Great Pyrenees. She weighs about 90 pounds. She has a beautiful coat and the typical extra back toes commonly found in this breed. This is a guardian breed dog. They naturally will protect their flock or family. This breed will do best in a fully fenced yard as they will roam away if there is no fence. She is good with other dogs and will need some more leash work. She would be great with someone that knows the breed and loves it. She should have the natural tendencies of this breed. She had puppies and we adopted them out. We also adopted out the larger male that was found with her as a stray. She would be fine with children. We like them to be 8 or older. She is up on her vaccines, healthy, spayed and ready for her forever home. She is currently in Texas and can be adopted locally or we can work with one of the wonderful transporters to get her to Washington, Portland (Oregon), Minnesota, Vermont or all along the East Coast. Welcome Anna to CCPAL Rescue. Anna is a 3-year old Great Pyrenees. She is about 65 pounds and we saved from a high kill Animal Control here in Texas. She was pregnant so CCPAL took her in. She was too far along and we didn’t want to see her or her puppies euthanized. She had 9 puppies. They are about weaned so she will begin to dry up and be ready for her forever home. She does not have the extra dew claw on her back feet but some of her puppies do have it. She is very mellow and doesn’t jump up. She is friendly and laid back to strangers. She would be great with children. We like them to be 8 or older. She could go with a family that is low to moderately active as she is very chill. She is good on a leash and in a car. She is good in a crate and has met lots of dogs smaller than herself and has done great with all of them. She wasn’t at all reactive on leash and is an overall wonderful dog. She is currently in Texas and can be adopted locally. We would love her to go more north because the temperatures are less warm and she has a big beautiful coat. She will need brushing to keep her beautiful coat. We would love someone that has owned a guardian breed. This is an amazing breed and will do better in a fence over underground fencing. She is healthy, vaccinated and will be spayed soon and ready for her forever home. Her adoption fee is 300 and transport is 200.
