Story
Hello, I'm Mo! I'm the sweetest, friendliest, most curious dog you'll ever meet. I've lived most of my life outdoors, so I could adapt again to that life or life inside loving you. I do good in a kennel and seem to be pretty well potty-trained. I'm selective about other dogs so a proper introduction is a must. I absolutely LOVE my belly rubbed.  If you're interested in adopting me, fill out an adoption application online at www.polkcountyhumanesociety.org/adopt where you will also find a link to reserve me for an appointment. Some pets are in foster homes or may already have an appointment scheduled, so the appointment is important to make sure I will be available to meet you when you come. Polk County Humane Society is located in Bolivar, Missouri, but also makes transports to the Denver, CO, Des Moines, IA and St. Louis areas twice monthly. For potential adopters in those areas, we can do a virtual visit using FaceTime or another app. Just request an appointment using the same link, but note that you want the visit to be virtual. We will call you at the time of the visit once it is confirmed. For long distance transports to Colorado and Iowa, there is an additional $100 fee to cover the cost of the transport ($65) and a health certificate from a veterinarian ($35). For transports to St. Louis, the additional fee is $50 to help cover gas. Going that last mile home for our sweet pets! All of our pets are neutered or spayed, have vaccinations appropriate for their age, treated with flea/tick/heartworm prevention, dewormed and dogs are also microchipped. #adoptdontshop ##2032005##

Story
Hi, I'm Luna Bear! I'm a 8 year old Great Pyrenese mix. I'm an older lady and have been in the shelter system for almost 3 years...I'm a lady of leisure and independence. I appreciate my own space, and while I may not be the life of the dog park, I offer a mellow companionship that's hard to find. I prefer a quiet home where I can relax and be myself. I'm not one for other dogs or cats, but I promise to fill your life with a unique kind of love. If you're interested in adopting me, fill out an adoption application online at www.polkcountyhumanesociety.org/adopt where you will also find a link to reserve me for an appointment. Story
Hi, I'm Powder, a puppy with a heart full of love. I was found wandering with another dog on the side of the highway. thankfully, someone picked us up and brought us to the shelter where we got fed and taken care of. I look to be a Great Pyrenese/Akita mix, but that's just a guess. Willow Breed: Great Pyrenees Female Age: 3-4 Years Weighs 78.5 pounds I am a very loving girl!! I love to chase squirrels and birds, I will play fetch with you but may change my mind on giving you back the item you threw. I am very soft and my humans love to give me hugs and kisses. I get very nervous when I hear the IRobot start and will bark at it. I do not like fireworks and will try to run inside and hide, I love my foster brothers (both are golden retrievers) I am protective of my 4 year old human sister and am very curious of my 1 year old human sister. I am house trained and also crate trained. I will let you know if I need to go outside by slightly barking I am unsure if I like female dogs but I know for sure I do not like cats. I will eat treats very gently out of your hands. Oh!!! Did I mention I know how to sit when asked to??

Story
Meet Blizzard, a handsome 2.5-year-old Great Pyrenees mix with a heart of gold! Weighing in at 53 lbs, Blizzard made his unexpected entrance onto a ranch after New Year's—likely spooked by the fireworks. Despite our best efforts to locate his previous family, fate has brought him to us, and he’s now ready to be the best boy for a new home. Neutered, microchipped, and up-to-date on vaccines and preventions, Blizzard is all set for his next chapter. Initially reserved, he has come out of his shell with the loving care of his foster mom and the friendly influence of her other dogs. Today, Blizzard is incredibly sweet and playful. He travels great in the car, walks well on a leash, and appears to be kennel trained—with only the occasional accident when he hasn’t had enough time outside. If you’re looking for a loyal, loving companion who will brighten your days, Blizzard is your guy. Don’t miss the opportunity to welcome this charming gentleman into your family—adopt Blizzard today! $200 Local Adoption Fee (in Texas) $450 Out of State Fee (includes transport to your area)

If you are seeing our pets posted in your state, that's because you live near a transport stop, they are not currently at that location.
