Story
I rescued Zara in 2019 and she's been an amazing dog. She's full of personality and loves to be affectionate. She loves to sit in the back yard or deck and make sure no intruders approach. Her Great Pyreneese DNA is very strong with her guardian dog duties. The funniest part of her is that any human intruder on earth could approach and she'd greet them with a big tail wag and want pets, but if its a squirrel, cat, bird, or anything else then she will not allow it. The reason I need to re-home her is because of a recent divorce that's forced me to live in a smaller apartment/house and it's just too small for her. I am having to move again, but the new place doesn't allow big dogs so i sadly have to find her a new home. She's a great dog and will be a wonderful companion

He is a lovable dog. He gives hugs. He loves to be outside. I’m an elderly lady, he’s too big for me to take him for walks. He needs someone to love him and give him attention.

Story
Juno is a 3-year-old female Great Pyrenees mix. A true cuddle bug, she wants to be snuggled with you or hugging you if you aren’t playing fetch. She has been professionally trained and walks beautifully on leash. If you need to go anywhere together, she is an experienced and calm traveler who is along for the ride. She loves children and people alike and as a Pyrenees, she will ensure you know she is a protector with her bark. Juno would love to be the only dog in the family. As a rescue, we believed she experienced some food scarcity early on and does not like competition for food. She also does not want to compete for affection and for that reason we feel it’s best she is the sole dog in the home.

Story
Wisteria is a gentle giant who loves calm vibes and snuggles. She has been with me for 6 years now, ever since I got her as a little puppy, but now due to my job relocating me overseas I have to find her a new home. Wisteria can be a bit shy at times but also protective of people she loves. She does amazing with kids and is so patient and mellow and really just enjoys being included in everyday life. She loves little treats, being brushed out, and lying on squishy pillows and blankets. I would prefer for her to go to a calm home where she will be absolutely spoiled with love because she really is just a big sweet baby!

Story
Daphne is an Anatolian Shepherd and German Shepherd mix, born October 2022.  She is friendly with cats and other dogs. She lives with 14 year old children. Daphne is leash trained and she enjoys being active.  She would love to go on regular walks with you!  She also knows a few commands. Daphne is protective of the house and will probably bark when someone gets close.  She enjoys having her people at home with her or at least another dog in the home to keep her company while you're gone.   She needs a fenced yard so she has a safe place to hang out.  Daphne might appreciate some training or a refresher course once she gets settled in at her new place. The suggested adoption donation for Daphne is $400, which includes a lifetime of free relationship-based training for any behavioral problems (not obedience training).  Muddy Paws is a 501c3 non-profit organization meaning that part of your donation MAY be TAX DEDUCTIBLE. We are a 100% volunteer rescue committed to giving animals a second chance at life. All donations go toward that mission. Adoption fees are the primary source of funding for the cost of veterinary care for our animals. In 2022 alone, we provided animal Healthcare totaling over $399,000 covered mainly through adoption fees. Please Note:  A Courtesy Post designates that an animal is still in the home of its owner and not in a Muddy Paws foster. This means that our exposure to the animal is limited since we are only assisting the owner in finding a new home for their pet. From time to time, owners find a new furever home for their pets outside of Muddy Paws Second Chance Rescue and there is a delay in removing them from our site. We apologize if the Courtesy Post you apply to adopt is unavailable for adoption. Information about the adoption process:  All adoptions require a completed ADOPTION APPLICATION. Once your application has completed our prescreen steps, we will put you in touch with the animal’s foster to see if you and the pet are a good match. If so, we will arrange a meeting for you and the animal. The adoptions for all of our animals will take place in the Omaha, NE area and must be done by the adoptive family in person. We do not ship or deliver. Please Note:  We are a RESCUE, which is different from a shelter. We conduct veterinary and personal reference checks, and a Home Visit (Virtual in some cases) during the application approval process. We always select the right applicant for each animal, based on the animal’s needs. If you and the animal are not a good match, we will help you select another animal, or we will keep your approved application on file for 6 months.
