Story
Gremlin is being fostered in NC. Howdy, I'm Gremlin, a 6 month old Great Dane, but don't worry, you CAN get me wet and I won't turn into Spike! I actually LOVE playing in water. My foster Mommy says I am a gentle giant, but I am still a baby and very playful. I need to learn my commands by touch because I cannot see or hear. And, well, I can be a little slower and I need repetitiveness with my training so I can be a very good boy. My foster Mommy is working with me on my manners, but I can be a bit slow because I have a great nose for food wherever it is heehee. It takes me a little time to navigate a new area, but I will get it, just be patient with me. Right now, I have a Cane Corso foster sister to play with and I love playing tug and wrestle with her. I am already potty and crate trained! When I wake in the morning, I will bark to let you know I has to go outside to do my business. I also walk well on a leash. The bestest thing I really love is to have my ears rubbed and to cuddle with humans. I don't know why they feel squished, after all, I'm the same size as a chihuahua aren't I LOL I just want my very own family to love me and guide me along my journey in this life. And, of course, to cuddle with furever. BDRA has voted against the use of electrical fencing effective immediately.

Story
Meet Duke! Have you ever wanted a guard dog, but also a family dog? A gentle giant that wouldn’t hurt a fly? A 120 pound playful, gentle soul who just wants to love and be loved? Drum roll please….we would like to announce…DUKE!! Duke is a perfect mix of couch potato and playful toy loving guy. This senior gentleman found himself at ADL after the family he’s had his whole life, had a change of circumstances and brought him to a shelter in Chicago. ADL swooped in to save this guy and give him a second chance at forever. Duke would easily mesh right into any family dynamic. Cats? No problem. He’s curious, but redirects well when requested. He responds well to no and leave it. Kids? This gentle guy doesn’t mind cuddling, hugs or kisses. Men? Sure thing! Women? Yes. He’s a real ladies man. Other dogs? Prefers to do his own thing, but coexist well with other dogs. Duke loves, loves, loves playing with toys, especially carrying around stuffed animal toys gently in his mouth. Duke knows the in and outs of being in a loving home. He knows how’s to sit and shake! He is very, very good motivated. He does not need a crate. He can be left to roam free in the home and he go out without accidents most of the time. Duke has some arthritis in his back legs, so he has started on the librela shot and a pain management regime that will need to be continued throughout his life. Duke would do best in a home where drool is tolerated, toys are plentiful, and dogs are allowed to cuddle on the couch. Who’s ready for the goofiest, least scary guard dog around? *Duke is being fostered in Janesville, WI. Albert's Dog Lounge is a specialty rescue focusing primarily on senior and special needs dogs. Our process includes an approved application, reference checks, a homevisit, and then a meet and greet with the dog. Adoption fee is $300, ($550 for a pair).
