Story
Chester will be 5 on 03/05, and he's a snuggly, 140-pound boy who is just not getting the attention and patience he needs as our baby grows and becomes more mobile. He would do well in a household with kids 10+, a fenced-in or larger yard, and a couch to sit with you on. Chester loves chasing the tennis ball; taking long naps; ripping up wrapping paper, cardboard, or stuffed animals; and warning you if anything is out of place in the neighborhood. He is crate trained and potty trained. He sits and lays down well, but he's sometimes stubborn and could use work on his recall. Chester plays well with other dogs, but he would probably be best off as the only pet in the house. He doesn't love nail trims or baths but tolerates them with lots of treats. He is a quirky, funny, and loving guy who just needs a family where he will get all the time and attention he deserves.

Intake Reason: Owner surrender.Weight: 103 lbs. Known with: ·Cats: Has done well. ·Dogs: Has lived with multiple dogs. ·Kids: Lived with six of various ages.- Quam is a shy guy who needs a little time to open up. Once he lets you in, he`s a playful, loving boy who loves to cuddle and get scratches. Initially hesitant towards unfamiliar people but is slowly working up his confidence with meeting new friends. - Quam knows `sit`, `stay`, `lay down`, `wait`, “come”, and `bed`. - Quam loves treats and is very food motivated. He is also very talented at catching treats. - He gets along well with kids, cats, and other dogs. In his foster home he lived with a 2-year-old female Black Mouth Cur and quickly became best friends. Quam also lived with a cat in his foster home. He was curious towards the cat but never paid much attention besides an occasional sniff. He visited with kids ranging from 1.5 years old to 13 and did well. - Quam prioritizes comfort over most anything else. As long as he has a comfy dog bed, pile of blankets, or a couch to nap on he`s happy. He is extra happy if he can cuddle next to you for scratches while he naps.- He definitely still has puppy energy once he’s comfortable, but he wears himself out pretty quickly. He loves to be let out into the yard to run zoomies.Quam is currently in a foster home. Please call the shelter at 262-677-4388 to make an appointment.#1
