Story
Thank you for your interest in dog who needs a new home.  Adoption can be one of the most fulfilling experiences in your life and especially in the life of your new canine companion. A note to those looking at CPR.  We have no perfect dogs - but many of our dogs have proven to be perfect for a certain someone.  Our job is to find those someone's.  Our most successful adopters come to CPR not because they want a dog.  They come to us because they want to give a dog a home.  We urge all of our potential adopters not to fall in love with a picture.  While we like to know what you like in looks, a dog is more than a pretty face.  Our goal is to match you with the best possible pet for you and your home.  We want to create furever families.  Our descriptions contain all that we know about this dog today.  We'll update as more information is known.  Are you looking to adopt within the next 30 days?  If so please visit our webpage at www.carolinapoodlerescue.org and complete the application.  You'll find it in the menu on the left hand side.  You'll also find a total listing of all our dogs available.  Just browsing but interested in poodles and poodle mixes?  Please drop a note to applications@carolinapoodlerescue.org with your name, address and phone # and email.  We'll add you to our mailing list. thanks the CPR Adoption team   Date into Rescue: 2/15/2023 Reason for being in rescue: breeder owner release/ health of owner  Foster:  Susan in Spartanburg SC  Special Needs? Piper is spayed, up to date on vaccines and heartworm negative. Weight: 120 lbs Height: 30 in Spayed/Neutered: Yes Adoption Fee: $250 Fence needed? Yes, Piper requires a physically fenced yard What kind of home would be best for me? Great Danes are known as gentle giants. They have hearts as big as their bodies and can be goofy and playful. Piper's days as a mama are behind her and it's time to live life as a pet. She could live happily with another large male dog or as your only dog. Due to her size we do not recommend a home with small dogs, cats or other smaller animals. Willow will be fine with children that have grown up with dogs.  What is my personality like? Piper is a very athletic and musculared beauty. When she is in a stance she is mesmerizing. But beyond her beauty is her loving, affectionate nature. Always seeking to please. She loves all people and would be a wonderful addition to a family who is active. A great camping, hiking, gaming, running, beaching companion. Piper's life goal is to climb to the mountain top of one of the gorgeous national parks in the US but shares that she expects a couch to already be sitting at the mountaintop for her to veg on! How do I act when I first meet new people? Friendly Other tips and tidbits: Piper's birthday is 12/20/2017 House trained? Dogs can be house trained if they are in the right environment and are allowed to follow a schedule as long as a physical reason doesn't keep them from being trained.  A dog house trained in my home may not be in yours. We will help you teach your new dog this necessary skill and based on your schedule. Please note - we do not ship dogs.  If you are interested in adopting, please take a look at the distance between the foster home location and your location and make sure you are willing to make that trip.  Most of our dogs are at our farm in Pacolet, South Carolina.   To apply, please visit our webpage at www.carolinapoodlerescue.org and visit the tab on the left that directions you to the online application. Please note that when screening applications, we look at the entire home and then make suggestions based on what would be a good fit for your home.   You are not being screened for a specific dog although we are looking to see what type of dog interests you - poodles or non poodles, color, age, etc.  Others here may be a better fit for you.  It is very difficult to get to know a living animal from a picture and a short description.  Since we are constantly getting in new dogs, this may be a  dog not in our listings yet.  We want you to be very happy with your new companion and will make suggestions based on what you tell us about you. Thank you for considering CPR. November 1, 2024, 6:23 pm

Her lovely brindle tanpoints make that black coat just pop.  When someone that she doesn’t know comes up to her she truly believes that they are her total world. Fickle girl! She adores doggy boys.  Have never seen a boy that she is not best friends with. She really prefers to be the only girl in the pack. She is just not interested to have female dog persuasion around. Chickens, ducks, peacocks, and cats she places in the same brain box as female dogs. Kirrah would love to be your recliner partner. Forget the couch, she wants to be in your lap, sharing your ice cream. Her life goal is to be a co-owner of an ice cream or frozen yogurt franchise where her primary duty is the official new taster. How do I act when I first meet new people? Friendly Other tips and tidbits: Kirrah's birthday is12/9/2016 House trained? Story
Meet Meeka! She is a gentle giant who was found on 10/26, with her sister Tova. Both girls are very much emaciated, but have not let that stop them from trusting us and graciously accepting love and snuggles. We rescued them on 10/29 and have been working to increase their weight and independence. These girls are currently on stray hold, but if we're unable to find their owners they will be available for adoption the first week of November. We would love for these sisters to find a home together but are open to adopting them out separately. They've been through so much and we want their next home to be a forever one! Interested in learning more? Submit your easy no-obligation adoption application found on our website at: www.AlmostHomeDogRescueNC.com and an Adoption Coach will contact you to tell you all about this well-behaved girl. Story
Meet super sweet Birdie. A great dane, Birdie came to us after she ate most of a mop head and needed emergency surgery. We still have what came out of her if her perfect human wanted for the memories... but word of advice, don't leave anything she can eat that could cause blockage out around her unsupervised. Other than that, she is perfect. Housetrained, good with other animals and people of all shapes and sizes. She is a year old and currently around 90 lbs but she will grow a bit more. If you think she could be your girl, please read below and fill out the on line application. ( she is spayed, stomach tacked, all vaccines, heartworm negative) RECOMMENDATIONS & PROCEDURES Please note, the following are recommendations for puppies and different breeds of dogs. We will evaluate each application on an individual basis to see what is best for the dog/puppy and the potential adopter. Puppies are very fragile and not toys. We recommend children be at least six years old to be considered to adopt a puppy. Small breed dogs ( such as chihuahuas, yorkies, shih tzus , etc) we recommend children be at least eight years old. Herding, working breeds we recommend children to be at least 12 years old. Again these are recommendations. Adoption Procedures: We will travel up to two hours ( one way) to do physical home visits and we do not do virtual home visits. ( we are in Cleveland County NC) Most of our dogs come from bad situations and we want to know where their forever home is going to be. While we do not require fencing on all dogs, certain dogs that need a fenced in yard, will not be adopted unless potential adopter has one. We also adopt some dogs to people who live in apartments ( as long as the landlord approves) but not all dogs. We do not adopt to anyone under 21 years of age. We also do not feel college students are the best fit for most of our dogs. Most of our dogs again, come from bad situations and need lots of attention. Most college students have financial responsibilities and we feel need to be focused on school. Our goal is to match the dog with a family that fits the dog’s needs. We are solely focused on what is best for each dog in our rescue. These dogs have had enough moving around, dumped out like trash, and we want to ensure they find their forever home. We do require you sign a contract and if at any time you cannot continue to provide for the dog, the dog comes back to the rescue. Your first step to adoption is filling out our on line application. You will then get an automated email stating we got your application Next our adoption coordinator will be in touch either by phone or email If your references check out, a home visit will be scheduled. After the home visit is done, a meet and greet with the dog you are interested in and/or any other available dogs we have will be scheduled If the dog and you are a match, contract will be signed and you may take your new family member home.
