Story
Hello, I am Quinn! I came to the shelter as a stray along with a doggie friend. She's since been adopted, and I'm just as frazzled as to why I'm not adopted. I may enjoy living with another dog again, as long as they are fairly calm, because I tend to be a nervous nelly. I am open to living with children of all ages as long as they can respect that I am shy and sensitive at first (I don't seem to know my own size!). I am not sure how I feel about cats but I am willing to try with proper introduction. It may take me some time to come out of my shell, but with patience I will surely be a loving and personable pooch. I may be an older lady but that doesn't mean I am any less deserving of a wonderful family, happiness, and companionship for the rest of my life!My foster has learned that I am housebroken, and that after a bit of time letting me come out of my shell, I'll open up and start letting you know what I want, which is usually a cuddle on the couch. Please make an appointment to meet me and take me home!---If you are interested in adopting, you must complete an application and make an appointment, as I am IN FOSTER CARE. Completed apps includes a photo ID, proof of address, and everyone in the home including resident dogs with vaccination history. We are open daily 12-6pm.---The Pennsylvania SPCA - Lancaster Center848 S. Prince St. Lancaster PA 17603Kennel #16516717-917-6979lancaster@pspca.org

Story
Hi there! My name is Opal. Aren't I such a beautiful girl? Until being rescued by Beagle Freedom Project, I was living on the streets of LA as a stray. I tried my hardest to find scraps to eat and a safe place to sleep, but life was so hard all on my own... I spent months starving, suffering from a severe flea infestation, and sleeping on a pile of trash I collected. I wasn't sure if help would ever come for me, but as soon as BFP heard my story they sprang into action! Despite everything that I've been through, I am such a sweetheart. I am gentle, trusting, and so unbelievably loving. I'm working on building my confidence, but it's already clear that I'm going to be the best companion in the world for my adopter. I'm also great with other dogs! Won't you consider giving me the loving home I've always dreamed of? My location: LOS ANGELES, CA *Please note that third-party sites like PetFinder or Adopt-a-Pet may sometimes list multiple locations for the same animal. My correct and current location is the one listed directly above!* If you are interested in adopting me, please fill out an adoption application at https://bfp.org/adopt/ Please email the Beagle Freedom Project Team with questions at: adopt@bfp.org. Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. All of the animals posted on our site have been temperament tested. While not all are in the immediate area, once we have processed and approved your application, we will move the dog to our adoptive area for you to meet, greet and hopefully adopt. Sometimes we will have more than one application on a dog. That does not mean it automatically goes to another family but you should be aware of the fact that until you are approved and set up for the meet/greet.. the dog could get adopted by another applicant.Dolly has large Great Dane genes grafted onto a somewhat smaller body. Not that anyone would ever call her small, but you would say she's a manageable size, which is perfect. If you love the Dane look, but aren't sure you could handle a full size model, we have Dolly waiting for you. She is currently only 60 lbs., but that is a bit deceiving, as she is very underweight. We would like to see at least 15 lbs. more on her ribs and we are working on it. She is now getting top quality groceries, something she has never had before. Still a young dog, at only about 2 years old, she is in the process of learning about how to deal with the world around her and she is learning fast. Her foster has some comments to help you understand this 'dog-in-progress. 'She’s nervous around new people and things. She does warm up after a bit. Her initial reaction to people that she doesn’t know is to low growl. She is trying to tell everyone to give her a moment to process the new information. I don’t recommend a house with cats or small animals. She’ tries to chase down all the birds,  and squirrels when we’re outside. I’m fairly confident her life prior to rescue wasn’t a good one. It's heartbreaking seeing a good dog trying to cope with a world she was never shown. UPDATE:I have had her for a month now, and she is learning! I took her to the vet today, and while she was nervous, she did not growl. So there has been improvement on that aspect. She wasn’t super outgoing and wanting everyone’s attention, so definitely stand by the slower to warm up to strangers. I highly suspect she’s been abused. She is highly intelligent and learns new things really fast.  She really has the potential to be an excellent dog, and wants to be loved and please her person. MORE UPDATE: Since being here at my house over a month now I have some new insights into her. She is not dog friendly with all dogs.  She's OK with my male dog, but not so happy with my female.  I've been working on getting her to ignore people on walks and she's doing better. She doesn't like it if strangers get to close when we are out.  In the yard. she's definitely going to need at least a 6 foot fence to keep her safely secured.  I will say, she is house trained and does let you know when she needs to go out. She also does very well in her kennel. She is very smart, and can learn things pretty quickly. She has all her shots and is ready and waiting for the person or family who like bigger dogs, but aren't ready for an actual Goliath. Dolly is a good girl! She is hoping you will want to help her be a good dog and come for her soon.   If you are interested in Dolly, please fill out an application at: https://reachoutrescue.rescuegroups.org/forms/form?formid=4588    Or contact: rorrcanine@gmail.com   *** Click here to sponsor this dog! ***Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.November 3, 2024, 5:02 pm

Story
Behr came to us through no fault of his own as his owner’s living situation had changed. He was hopefully going to be an emotional support dog as he has an easy going temperament. He still has some puppy energy and would benefit from romps in the back yard , possibly with kids and or other dogs which would be the best fit as he does not enjoy being on his own very much. He is house trained and crate trained.and he is neutered and pexied. Behr is super smart and and takes to training easily as he is very food motivated. He walks nicely on leash and enjoys time with his person.

Story
My name is Dixie and I am 8 months old. I came into rescue with my sister Dora. I am happy and playful and enjoy playing outside with the kids in my foster home and also with my sister. Dora is the more out-going one of the two of us, so when there are a lot of people visiting the farm, I watch Dora to see if it is ok to come over and say hello. I am very good at eating, sleeping and playing but I need more practice with walking nicely on the leash. If you think that I would be a good fit for your home, please contact your local chapter of the MAGDRL today!
