Story
Hi there! I’m Moose! I was homeless for a very long time, but was adopted about a year ago. I thought this was it, that I'd found my forever home and I was so, so happy! Unfortunately, the person who said she would love me forever and ever decided to move and now I'm homeless again. I have a proposition for you, though--I promise to be your best friend forever and remain loyal and true to you if you'll make me your "for real" forever boy. I've gotten a little older (I'm nine very handsome years old now, to be precise) and I'm still a big boy. But please don’t let my size intimidate you. It just means my heart is bigger! The truth is, I am a very well-behaved boy who is just really looking forward to being part of a family. I sure hope my family sees this and wants to meet me. I’m already neutered, microchipped, and vaccinated, and I can have my bags packed to go home with you in no time! I may be a big boy, but I travel light! But the best thing I can offer is that I come with a lifetime of unconditional love. Everyone needs that, right? I am also a very treat-motivated guy. What can I say, I love my food! Being treat-motivated will actually help me learn new things. I already know the commands, “sit,” and “down,” but I would love to learn more. Would you like to help me learn new things? No one knows for certain my past, from before I came to The Pet Connection, because I haven’t shared it all with them, and I don’t really like to dwell on it. But I will tell you that I can be a bit scared of strangers and a bit selective about my doggy friends. Let’s see, what else . . . oh yeah, I also love to play with toys—especially the ones that squeak! Squeaky toys are THE BEST! I am house-trained and crate-trained, too. Oh, AND I like to sit on the riding lawn mower. That’s normal, right? Don’t most dogs like to sit on riding lawn mowers? But it’s really ok if you don’t have a riding lawn mower; I can be flexible about that. So, are you looking for a well-behaved boy with a big heart? If so, will you please come meet me? To make a pet connection, call/text The Pet Connection at (913) 671-7387. I'm staying with them in Beloit, Kansas, but I would totally be on board with hitching a ride to my new home.

Story
This handsome fellow is Max. He's a big boy, 100 pounds, and only a year old. His foster mom thinks he's a Great Dane/Labrador mix. He's a big, happy puppy, so he has plenty of energy and a short attention span. Max is also very sweet and lovable. Max loves kids but gets so darned excited that he knocks the little ones over, which they understandably don't enjoy. He's done fine with kids 10 years old and up, though. He's a rough-and-tumble player, so we think cats and small dogs would not appreciate living with Max. Medium and large dogs who like to play? Yes, please! Max gets along great with the shepherd/husky and Great Pyrenees in his foster home. Max likes to eat things. When he was found by his foster in a ditch, Max weighed only 42 pounds and was near death with SIX socks in his stomach. It took months to nurse him back to health and he barely made it. He's not messing around with his goal to consume everything he can get his mouth on, so to keep Max safe, he wears a basket muzzle when not supervised. He doesn't mind it one bit! Max has been neutered and is current on his vaccines and heartworm prevention. He's also kennel- and house-trained. Call or text The Pet Connection at 913-671-7387 if you're interested in giving this fabulous boy a forever home. He's in the KC metro.

Story
Moose, our friend from City of Raytown Animal Services, is a beautiful chocolate and white Great Dane puppy around six months old. He still has a lot of growing to do, but he is such a good boy. He's playful and goofy, sits on you like a chair, and loves attention. He listens well and is learning how to sit and shake. He is going to be a BIG boy so we want him to have a home with folks who have previous giant dog experience or who are prepared to learn and provide him with what he will need. Interested in learning more about Moose? Call or text The Pet Connection at 913-671-7387. He's in the Kansas City metro, but transport might be available to the right home.

Story
Any dog named after an icon like Betty White must be a special girl. This Great Dane fits the bill. She is in need of a really loving and patient adopter. She was part of a large group of animals brought in as abandoned in a home. Betty White was very underweight. We also believe she is either partially or fully blind and deaf. As you can imagine, the strange new surroundings of her kennel at the shelter are very stressful. She deserves to be in a caring home or foster home. Betty White enjoys hanging out with other gentle and mellow pups during playgroups at the shelter. She thinks cats are a little too interesting, so a feline-free home would be the perfect fit!Betty White is spayed, microchipped and current on vaccines. Her ADOPTION FEE IS WAIVED! We want all our dogs to have homes as quickly as possible. In an effort to help dogs with longer stays, those who are deteriorating in the shelter environment, or who are harder to place find homes more quickly, the adoption fee for this dog has been waived.

Story
Apollopalooza, a handsome boy with a tongue twister name, is a Great Dane who hasn`t reached his first birthday yet. He had been living temporarily with a family, and they described him as `still a puppy in a horse`s body. He loves people. Loves to play. He loves going on walks. A really good walker too! `. He had loads of loving energy and just wants to play. They said he would do better in a home with dogs who could match his playfulness, unlike their older dogs. Apollopalooza knows Sit and Shake. He is treat motivated, which should help in any additional training a 10 month old pup might need.Apollopalooza loves a game of tug. He actually loves most toys. He has been known to guard is food when eating, so he would likely do better with older children who can understand his boundaries (and not be knocked over accidentally by this big goofball).Like all of our dogs, Apollopalooza will need to meet future fur siblings before going home. Bring your dog(s) and our staff will help them make introductions in a safe environment.

Story
We got Money as a pup and at the time we lived in the country on 10 acres and he loved it. We now have moved to a home with a small back yard and now going thru a messy divorce and unfortunately Money is not getting the exercise or time needed for him due to work and young children. We love Money and just want him to have a happy healthy life where he can run and play. He has been around an older dog but not many others and when he has he seemed to be very nervous.

Story
Kleo is a 5yo Female great Dane! She is blue and sweet as can be to humans, does okay with cats and kids. She loves to snuggle and is so soft and pretty! She is happiest snuggled up on the couch or in bed with people! Kleo is however, extremely reactive to other dogs. She would do best in a home with a fenced in back yard (6ft or taller) with no other pets. She does do okay with cats but will bark at them occasionally. She has been around little kids and while she would never hurt one on purpose, she may accident knock a kid over. Overall she is a sweet girl and deserves a loving family.

Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. Linny has come a long way! Initially, Linny did not like other dogs, but she now loves all 4 of the other dogs she is currently living with.  She would be lonely if she didn't have any dogs in her future home. Linny was moved into the house to recover from her spay, and since she's been inside, she's had no accidents!  She is finally starting to discover her puppy side, and loves to play with her foster siblings.  She has lots of energy and loves to go on walks and run around. Linny is a very sweet dog, and if we had any room, we would keep her in a heartbeat. She needs a family to give her lots of love and belly rubs.
