Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. All of the animals posted on our site have been temperament tested. While not all are in the immediate area, once we have processed and approved your application, we will move the dog to our adoptive area for you to meet, greet and hopefully adopt. Sometimes we will have more than one application on a dog. That does not mean it automatically goes to another family but you should be aware of the fact that until you are approved and set up for the meet/greet.. the dog could get adopted by another applicant.Dolly has large Great Dane genes grafted onto a somewhat smaller body. Not that anyone would ever call her small, but you would say she's a manageable size, which is perfect. If you love the Dane look, but aren't sure you could handle a full size model, we have Dolly waiting for you. She is currently only 60 lbs., but that is a bit deceiving, as she is very underweight. We would like to see at least 15 lbs. more on her ribs and we are working on it. She is now getting top quality groceries, something she has never had before. Still a young dog, at only about 2 years old, she is in the process of learning about how to deal with the world around her and she is learning fast. Her foster has some comments to help you understand this 'dog-in-progress. 'She’s nervous around new people and things. She does warm up after a bit. Her initial reaction to people that she doesn’t know is to low growl. She is trying to tell everyone to give her a moment to process the new information. I don’t recommend a house with cats or small animals. She’ tries to chase down all the birds,  and squirrels when we’re outside. I’m fairly confident her life prior to rescue wasn’t a good one. It's heartbreaking seeing a good dog trying to cope with a world she was never shown. UPDATE:I have had her for a month now, and she is learning! I took her to the vet today, and while she was nervous, she did not growl. So there has been improvement on that aspect. She wasn’t super outgoing and wanting everyone’s attention, so definitely stand by the slower to warm up to strangers. I highly suspect she’s been abused. She is highly intelligent and learns new things really fast.  She really has the potential to be an excellent dog, and wants to be loved and please her person. MORE UPDATE: Since being here at my house over a month now I have some new insights into her. She is not dog friendly with all dogs.  She's OK with my male dog, but not so happy with my female.  I've been working on getting her to ignore people on walks and she's doing better. She doesn't like it if strangers get to close when we are out.  In the yard. she's definitely going to need at least a 6 foot fence to keep her safely secured.  I will say, she is house trained and does let you know when she needs to go out. She also does very well in her kennel. She is very smart, and can learn things pretty quickly. She has all her shots and is ready and waiting for the person or family who like bigger dogs, but aren't ready for an actual Goliath. Dolly is a good girl! She is hoping you will want to help her be a good dog and come for her soon.   If you are interested in Dolly, please fill out an application at: https://reachoutrescue.rescuegroups.org/forms/form?formid=4588    Or contact: rorrcanine@gmail.com   *** Click here to sponsor this dog! ***Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.November 5, 2024, 5:13 pm

DISCLOSURE: The adoptable pets in our program are still in the care and custody of owners who wish to re-home their pet. Owners have enlisted Rescue Well to provide marketing and screening of applicants as a service, free of charge. All fees and adoption conditions are determined by the owner. We advise that adopters do not send payment or deposits for pets prior to adopting.  ***** Captain is 2-1/2yo, weighs 130lbs, is neutered, is up to date on his vaccines, and is microchipped.  He fears/dislikes hats/voluminous hair/bulky clothing.  During the day, Captain is loose inside the home; he's crated in the main bedroom at night.  He can sit in a car, but doesn't like it, and will start to drool. Captain's guardian explains why she has made the difficult decision to rehome him: "Captain is a very sweet gentle giant but he has very many Great Pyrenees traits and needs to be in a farm or farm like environment. We live in a small house with no land and due to his mix being pyrenees dominant rather than dane, we cannot provide him with the environment he needs." Lunge Incident:  Within the past 10 days, Captain lunged at a neighbor in his yard in Frederick, MD; no bite occurred, so the skin wasn't broken; animal control wasn't involved.  Captain's guardian explains:    " Captain lunged at my neighbor due to her approaching inappropriately in my property without him having been alerted first.  The incident was situational.  After having discussed with trainer it was determined that Captain was only trying to protect his “flock” as he is meant to be a flock guardian.  This is what led us to decide he needs to be in a farm.  The place we live is simply not suited to a dog of this nature." Captain's guardian states the following regarding children:  Since Captain hasn't lived with children, his guardian doesn't recommend his living with children, stating  "Captain gets excited around children but I would not recommend he live with children due to his size and playfulness.  He likes contact play and could easily harm a child just due to his size."   Captain's guardiann states the following regarding dogs:  Since Captain has lived with dogs, his guardian recommends his living with dogs, stating "Captain LOVES animals.  He is very playful with other dogs." Captain's guardian states the following regarding cats:  Since Captain has lived with cats, his guardian recommends his living with cats, stating "Mostly indifferent, sometimes if the cat engages". Captain's guardian describes him as: Very active Barks alot Playful Independent Protective House-Trained Crate-Trained Likes men Likes women Captain's guardian describes his ideal future home:  " We would love for Captain to be placed in a farm and be able to live out his best flock guardian dreams.  A home filled with animals and a lot of land to roam would be ideal." His enthusiasm for people, playing, and hugging makes him a real "Mr. Personality." He enjoys attention and soft toys, brings joy and laughter to everyone he meets!Given his size and energy level,we reccomend a home without small children. A nice yard is a must. This will provide him with the space he needs to romp and play to his heart's content. Bogey needs to learn boundaries and personal space with other dogs and he would really benefit from a home that can provide him with training and guidance in socializing with his canine friends.Bogey's affectionate nature and goofball personality makes him a wonderful potential family member for the right household. It's clear that he just needs someone who understands his needs and breed, and is willing to provide the necessary guidance and training to ensure he thrives in a new home. If someone is willing to give him a chance, they will be rewarded with a loyal and entertaining companion. Your new pet will require a refresher in house-training. K-9 Lifesavers strongly recommends all new adopters enroll their new pet into obedience training. This provides for an easier transition into a new home, ensures the dog remains well socialized, and helps form a bond between the dog and the new family.    Adoption fees cover basic vetting, rabies (if puppy is old enough), distemper/parvo vaccinations, deworming, monthly heartworm prevention while in our care (if old enough), monthly flea/tick prevention while in our care, and transport costs. K-9 Lifesavers will also cover the cost of spay/neuter at our partner vet at 6 months of age or reimburse adopter for up to the amount of our partner vet cost should you choose to spay/neuter at your own vet.       Foster Program:    Foster homes provide for the temporary care of a rescue until the dog is placed into a loving, forever home.  For more information on becoming a foster parent, and our Foster Program, visit http://www.k-9lifesavers.org/foster/ or email our Foster Coordinator at foster@k-9lifesavers.orgSPONSOR ME! Help Save Lives!    Make a tax-deductible donation today and help save a life. Story
Lilo is a 1-year old Great Dane/Great Pyrenees mix. Recently surrendered when her previous owners had to relocate to a smaller home, this beautiful big girl is an absolute sweetheart, great with other dogs, kids, and even friendly with cats. Potty and crate trained, Lilo is still a big puppy at heart and has lots of puppy energy. She will need a knowledgeable adopter with a fenced yard who is committed to continuing her training and giving her the time and attention she needs. Lilo is fixed and up to date on vaccines and preventatives. The adoption fee for Lilo is $500. Freckles Foundation & Animal Rescue cannot guarantee the exact breed of any animal in our care. The breed listed is based on information we may have been provided, and the appearance of the animal.

Story
Hi I have a beautiful black Great Dane name BeeBee. She is 9 month old. She will be 10 months on the 24th of Nov. She is very friendly, playful and sweet. She loves to play outside and with other dogs. I would love someone who has a large yard so she can run and stretch those long legs as she grows, as well as having a loving companion or family that she could be a great addition to and grow with. My family are very busy and can not accommodate her at this time and it is not fair to her. She has all her shots and has a regular veterinarian she goes to. She is house trained and crate trained.

Story
So, you know how SLOW the glaciers move, right?? WELL, that is the not like me :) I am only 6 months old and a SUPER playful pup, so I am thinking that my rescuers named me because of my white coat and NOT because I am slow and lazy :) So, I am most definitely a Great Pyrenees and Lab Retriever mix. I have double dew claws and a nice LONG snout. I want nothing more than to have a family who will love me for my bipolar breed mix... I am the perfect mixture :D I will be a big boy, I have long legs and HUGE feet. I actually don't have the long thick hair of the pyr, that is kind of nice right?? However, labs shed too. You must love the white doggy glitter I will leave behind. ADOPT ME SOON!!! I am not getting any younger, or smaller! Local adoption fee is $250 (in TX) Out of state adoption fee is $550 (includes transport to your area)
