Story
"What's up! Well that would be me! They call me Lab mix but my good pals call me Uncle Sam. I came to this flag factory With my best friend Betsy Ross. I'm a tall drink of water and she's a cute little potato. We make a good team. The dog police said we couldn't stay in our house with no hoomans to open the can opener. So we went for a ride and now we are here. Boy is it loud. We are making friends and learning the routine. We have very easy personalities if I don't say so myself. I miss my hoomans when they drop me off at my room. But i go with the flow! I keep saying hi when they pass by. I love people and dogs. These cat things are very mysterious. But I cruise right on by. I keep thinking our hooman will come and pick us up after work, maybe they lost or can't find us. The new yapster friends on C row gives me a shout- "hey stretch! What's the weather up there!"I just laugh. I've got good humor. They say we need to find new hoomans to love us. I'm very lovable. So that won't be hard. I am low energy but still like my short walks to get my potty out. Bad manners to potty inside the room. I don't like being outside for long because i like cool hair conditioning inside. I sleeps on the dog bed on the floor because I need room to stretch out ...and I take up too much room on Betsy's sofa.We take naps and watch movies. We don't sew or set off fire crackers but we are not opposed to wearing patriotic outfits. USA all the way! We are chill like popsicles and fun like popcorn. Come and check us out if you are looking for a Great-Dane-in-the morning-bean -sprout and a cute little potato- dumplin. We be niceWe be easy. We don't chase mice...We be lazy! Can't wait to meet you!!🇺🇸Your new bff,Uncle Sam (aka stretch)!"❤️🤍💙🟢🟢🟢Hooman DogCatFriendly. 🐾Low/medium energy. No marathon running. Nice easy strolls around the block preferred. 87 pounds Primary Color: Black Weight: 87 Age: 4yrs 0mths 2wks

Story
Courtesy post Sweet Mavrik Needs a New Beginning This is one of the hardest posts to write… but it’s for the best. Mavrik is a gentle, goofy soul with the kindest heart — and he needs a new forever home. He’s only about 1.5 years old, still tall, lanky, and learning his way through the world (we think there may be some Great Dane in this handsome boy!). He’s healthy, fully vetted, neutered, and weighs around 65 pounds. Mavrik has separation anxiety and will need some extra help — a mix of medication, training, and most importantly, patience and love. He does not have a single mean bone in his body. He rarely barks, but he gets excited when he sees his doggy friends. He’s silly, sensitive, and trainable with a few yummy treats in hand. His ideal home? Someone home most of the time A calm, doggy role model to show him the ropes A heart big enough to help him feel safe, seen, and supported He’s lived peacefully with a cat (though he likes to paw a bit), and he truly loves everyone he meets. This decision was made with deep heartbreak and selflessness by his loving mama, who only wants what’s best for him. Please, be kind. She’s doing this because she knows Mavrik deserves more attention and stability than she can give right now. The shelter is not an option. We are doing everything to find him a soft place to land. Located in Bel Air, MD Contact Jen at 410-459-3606 Please share. Let’s find this beautiful boy the home he so desperately needs — and the love he so deeply deserves.May 6, 2025, 9:53 pm

You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. All of the animals posted on our site have been temperament tested. While not all are in the immediate area, once we have processed and approved your application, we will move the dog to our adoptive area for you to meet, greet and hopefully adopt. Sometimes we will have more than one application on a dog. That does not mean it automatically goes to another family but you should be aware of the fact that until you are approved and set up for the meet/greet.. the dog could get adopted by another applicant.NOTE- JESSE IS LISTED AS A COURTESY FOR ANOTHER RESCUE ORGANIZATION. PLEASE SEE CONTACT INFO BELOW. Jesse is very friendly. She is good with other dogs and very intelligent. She's fully housebroken and would do well with an active family that will take the time to give her the mental stimulation she needs. Story
Meet JETHRO! Jethro is a gorgeous, extremely friendly, happy, and sweet, gentle giant at 4.5 years old and 78 pounds. He is a mix of small Great Dane/Cane Corso/Lab with a handsome black and mahogany brindle coat, and white tipped toes and muzzle! His extremely expressive eyes add to his handsome looks. He is very sweet and lovable, understands house training and is crate trained. He has great house manners. Jethro would be fine in an apartment, townhouse, or house! Jethro LOVES to meet people, leaning in for head pets, butt scratches, and even belly rubs. He already has had some obedience training, including sit with paw for a treat, wait, etc. Jethro likes to go for walks but also settles down nicely to hang out. Jethro is interested in but largely ignores other dogs and was used as a dog tester at the shelter. Poor Jethro was surrendered by his ill owner to a shelter; his records indicate he was regularly vetted, neutered, microchipped, and overall well cared for. When the North Carolina shelter was beyond capacity and in spite of being a shelter favorite his fate did not look good, the shelter found him a safe place to stay and take care of him. We were asked if we could bring this extremely sweet dog into PetConnect. Jethro is very happy to now be in the DC area to find a forever family that will give him the attention that he deserves. Jethro would love to curl up with you to hang out on a spring night! He would be an excellent new member of the family and is eager to find a family to love! ***Please note that the first step is to fill out an application (It does not commit you in anyway but allows us to discuss with you if you and the dog are a good fit). In addition, an important step in approving applicants is a vet check to ensure that your current and previous pet(s) are kept up to date on vaccines (including rabies ), spayed or neutered, maintained on appropriate monthly preventatives and examined annually by your vet.*** Jethro is neutered and up-to-date on vaccines. The adoption fee for this dog is $425 which includes routine vetting and spay/neuter. PetConnect Rescue cannot guarantee the exact breed of any animal in our care. The breed listed is based on any background we may have been provided, and the general appearance of the animal at the time they enter our system. For more information, please email Robin at kinstondogs@verizon.net **If you're viewing this on Petfinder, please visit www.petconnectrescue.org to complete our non-binding application.**
