Story
So, you know how SLOW the glaciers move, right?? WELL, that is the not like me :) I am only 6 months old and a SUPER playful pup, so I am thinking that my rescuers named me because of my white coat and NOT because I am slow and lazy :) So, I am most definitely a Great Pyrenees and Lab Retriever mix. I have double dew claws and a nice LONG snout. I want nothing more than to have a family who will love me for my bipolar breed mix... I am the perfect mixture :D I will be a big boy, I have long legs and HUGE feet. I actually don't have the long thick hair of the pyr, that is kind of nice right?? However, labs shed too. You must love the white doggy glitter I will leave behind. ADOPT ME SOON!!! I am not getting any younger, or smaller! Local adoption fee is $250 (in TX) Out of state adoption fee is $550 (includes transport to your area)

Story
Hello, I am Quinn! I came to the shelter as a stray along with a doggie friend. She's since been adopted, and I'm just as frazzled as to why I'm not adopted. I may enjoy living with another dog again, as long as they are fairly calm, because I tend to be a nervous nelly. I am open to living with children of all ages as long as they can respect that I am shy and sensitive at first (I don't seem to know my own size!). I am not sure how I feel about cats but I am willing to try with proper introduction. It may take me some time to come out of my shell, but with patience I will surely be a loving and personable pooch. I may be an older lady but that doesn't mean I am any less deserving of a wonderful family, happiness, and companionship for the rest of my life!My foster has learned that I am housebroken, and that after a bit of time letting me come out of my shell, I'll open up and start letting you know what I want, which is usually a cuddle on the couch. Please make an appointment to meet me and take me home!---If you are interested in adopting, you must complete an application and make an appointment, as I am IN FOSTER CARE. Completed apps includes a photo ID, proof of address, and everyone in the home including resident dogs with vaccination history. We are open daily 12-6pm.---The Pennsylvania SPCA - Lancaster Center848 S. Prince St. Lancaster PA 17603Kennel #16516717-917-6979lancaster@pspca.org

Story
Gremlin is being fostered in NC. Howdy, I'm Gremlin, a 6 month old Great Dane, but don't worry, you CAN get me wet and I won't turn into Spike! I actually LOVE playing in water. My foster Mommy says I am a gentle giant, but I am still a baby and very playful. I need to learn my commands by touch because I cannot see or hear. And, well, I can be a little slower and I need repetitiveness with my training so I can be a very good boy. My foster Mommy is working with me on my manners, but I can be a bit slow because I have a great nose for food wherever it is heehee. It takes me a little time to navigate a new area, but I will get it, just be patient with me. Right now, I have a Cane Corso foster sister to play with and I love playing tug and wrestle with her. I am already potty and crate trained! When I wake in the morning, I will bark to let you know I has to go outside to do my business. I also walk well on a leash. The bestest thing I really love is to have my ears rubbed and to cuddle with humans. I don't know why they feel squished, after all, I'm the same size as a chihuahua aren't I LOL I just want my very own family to love me and guide me along my journey in this life. And, of course, to cuddle with furever. BDRA has voted against the use of electrical fencing effective immediately.

DISCLOSURE: The adoptable pets in our program are still in the care and custody of owners who wish to re-home their pet. Owners have enlisted Rescue Well to provide marketing and screening of applicants as a service, free of charge. All fees and adoption conditions are determined by the owner. We advise that adopters do not send payment or deposits for pets prior to adopting.  ***** Captain is 2-1/2yo, weighs 130lbs, is neutered, is up to date on his vaccines, and is microchipped.  He fears/dislikes hats/voluminous hair/bulky clothing.  During the day, Captain is loose inside the home; he's crated in the main bedroom at night.  He can sit in a car, but doesn't like it, and will start to drool. Captain's guardian explains why she has made the difficult decision to rehome him: "Captain is a very sweet gentle giant but he has very many Great Pyrenees traits and needs to be in a farm or farm like environment. We live in a small house with no land and due to his mix being pyrenees dominant rather than dane, we cannot provide him with the environment he needs." Lunge Incident:  Within the past 10 days, Captain lunged at a neighbor in his yard in Frederick, MD; no bite occurred, so the skin wasn't broken; animal control wasn't involved.  Captain's guardian explains:    " Captain lunged at my neighbor due to her approaching inappropriately in my property without him having been alerted first.  The incident was situational.  After having discussed with trainer it was determined that Captain was only trying to protect his “flock” as he is meant to be a flock guardian.  This is what led us to decide he needs to be in a farm.  The place we live is simply not suited to a dog of this nature." Captain's guardian states the following regarding children:  Since Captain hasn't lived with children, his guardian doesn't recommend his living with children, stating  "Captain gets excited around children but I would not recommend he live with children due to his size and playfulness.  He likes contact play and could easily harm a child just due to his size."   Captain's guardiann states the following regarding dogs:  Since Captain has lived with dogs, his guardian recommends his living with dogs, stating "Captain LOVES animals.  He is very playful with other dogs." Captain's guardian states the following regarding cats:  Since Captain has lived with cats, his guardian recommends his living with cats, stating "Mostly indifferent, sometimes if the cat engages". Captain's guardian describes him as: Very active Barks alot Playful Independent Protective House-Trained Crate-Trained Likes men Likes women Captain's guardian describes his ideal future home:  " We would love for Captain to be placed in a farm and be able to live out his best flock guardian dreams.  A home filled with animals and a lot of land to roam would be ideal." Rehoming Fee:  None Location:  Frederick, MD***** ADOPTION PROCESS  1. If you are interested in ADOPTING me, please CLICK HERE:  ADOPT ME 2.
