Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. All of the animals posted on our site have been temperament tested. While not all are in the immediate area, once we have processed and approved your application, we will move the dog to our adoptive area for you to meet, greet and hopefully adopt. Sometimes we will have more than one application on a dog. That does not mean it automatically goes to another family but you should be aware of the fact that until you are approved and set up for the meet/greet.. the dog could get adopted by another applicant.Dolly has large Great Dane genes grafted onto a somewhat smaller body. Not that anyone would ever call her small, but you would say she's a manageable size, which is perfect. If you love the Dane look, but aren't sure you could handle a full size model, we have Dolly waiting for you. She is currently only 60 lbs., but that is a bit deceiving, as she is very underweight. We would like to see at least 15 lbs. more on her ribs and we are working on it. She is now getting top quality groceries, something she has never had before. Still a young dog, at only about 2 years old, she is in the process of learning about how to deal with the world around her and she is learning fast. Her foster has some comments to help you understand this 'dog-in-progress. 'She’s nervous around new people and things. She does warm up after a bit. Her initial reaction to people that she doesn’t know is to low growl. She is trying to tell everyone to give her a moment to process the new information. I don’t recommend a house with cats or small animals. She’ tries to chase down all the birds,  and squirrels when we’re outside. I’m fairly confident her life prior to rescue wasn’t a good one. It's heartbreaking seeing a good dog trying to cope with a world she was never shown. UPDATE:I have had her for a month now, and she is learning! I took her to the vet today, and while she was nervous, she did not growl. So there has been improvement on that aspect. She wasn’t super outgoing and wanting everyone’s attention, so definitely stand by the slower to warm up to strangers. I highly suspect she’s been abused. She is highly intelligent and learns new things really fast.  She really has the potential to be an excellent dog, and wants to be loved and please her person. MORE UPDATE: Since being here at my house over a month now I have some new insights into her. She is not dog friendly with all dogs.  She's OK with my male dog, but not so happy with my female.  I've been working on getting her to ignore people on walks and she's doing better. She doesn't like it if strangers get to close when we are out.  In the yard. she's definitely going to need at least a 6 foot fence to keep her safely secured.  I will say, she is house trained and does let you know when she needs to go out. She also does very well in her kennel. She is very smart, and can learn things pretty quickly. She has all her shots and is ready and waiting for the person or family who like bigger dogs, but aren't ready for an actual Goliath. Dolly is a good girl! She is hoping you will want to help her be a good dog and come for her soon.   If you are interested in Dolly, please fill out an application at: https://reachoutrescue.rescuegroups.org/forms/form?formid=4588    Or contact: rorrcanine@gmail.com   *** Click here to sponsor this dog! ***Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.November 5, 2024, 5:13 pm

Story
Large dog Lover? Murphy is a 17 month old Irish wolf hound/ Great Dane mix. Good with kids and cats. He is dog selective and would do best as the only dog. Murphy is housebroken, good on leash, knows sit, stay, leave it. He does well in crate and also does well loose in the house when away. He would make a great only pet.

Story
ADOPT ME ONLINE: https://ophrescue.org/dogs/14171Meet Squid, a handsome king-sized guy with a big personality and sweet disposition. Name: SquidGender: MaleBreed: Great Dane MixAge: 2 years old, DOB: Jan. 15, 2023Weight: 94 lbsCurrent Location: Parsonsburg, MD PERSONALITYSquid’s foster mom says this huge guy is really just an affectionate, silly, playful, fun-loving and dopey goofball. His perfect day is one where he can spend as much time as possible with humans! He has a medium-level amount of energy, which means he is playful but also good at settling down. He loves tossing around a toy as much as he loves lounging and watching TV. He craves attention! COMPANIONSHIPSquid wears his emotions on his sleeve (well, he would if he had sleeves). He makes it very clear that he wants to be with people All. The. Time. He’ll rub his big adorable head on you every chance he gets, since he really, really loves you. His foster mom reports, “If I stand, Squid stands. If I walk, Squid walks.” He pays close attention to what his people are doing and will hop when he is excited. And he is often excited. Squid would love to be your hiking buddy and when he’s not on a hike, he’ll love to play with other dogs almost as much as he loves being with people. TRAINING AND LEARNINGSquid already knows a lot but is always learning more. He is potty trained. He doesn’t love his crate (what Great Dane does?). As an alternative to a crate, Squid is well-behaved when he needs to be confined to a room in the house. He is working on his leash skills and also working on learning a few commands. Squid is treat-motivated and eager to learn but he is also easily distracted so he will learn best with a patient teacher. He is also working to refine his house manners, such as learning to resist the urge to counter surf or jump on people. He doesn’t bark much unless he knows you’re in the house and you’re not with him. LOVE AND AFFECTIONSquid really loves physical contact with his people. He loves all people as well as all dogs. IDEAL HOMESquid would love a quiet home with just one or two adults but he would also love an active house with kids and other pets. He doesn’t require a large yard but would do well with at least daily walk. He will of course thrive in a family with patience enough to teach him to be his best self. This big goofy Squid is looking for his forever family. He will keep them entertained and feeling loved! If you think Squid is your guy, please hit the apply button and let’s get the family started.Included Veterinary Care:Visit to Veterinarian: Health certificate includedVaccinations: Up to date for her ageSpay/NeuteredMicrochippedHeartworm PreventativeFlea and Tick PreventativeWorm/Parasite Treatments
