Story
Meet Bubbles, a sweet and playful 1-year-old Lab/Great Dane/Hound mix with a stunning white coat and a heart as big as her paws! Weighing 60 lbs, she still thinks she's a lap dog and loves cuddling up with you. Bubbles adores winter frolics, especially when playing with her two resident beagle pals, and her gentle, energetic nature makes her perfect for a family that enjoys outdoor fun and cozy evenings. Housebroken and well-mannered, Bubbles gets along great with other dogs. She would thrive in an active home with plenty of space—ideally a fenced yard—and lots of love. Please note, chases cats pretty relentlessly. Bubbles is spayed, up-to-date on her vaccinations, and ready to find her forever family. Could that be you? If you are interested in adopting/meeting this pup , please complete our online adoption application that you can find here: https://www.starfishanimalrescue.com/adopt/dog-adoption-application  . Your application will be reviewed by our team and if it is a good fit, we will send to the foster family to set up a meet! Clicking the "Start your Inquiry" button is internal to Petfinder, and will only delay the process - please copy the link and submit the application. The adoption fee of $300 will include spay/neuter, microchip, age appropriate/required vaccinations, treatment for heartworm and any other necessary medical treatment to assure a healthy new pup for your family. IMPORTANT DISCLAIMER: Although we do our best to describe breed, since our pups all come from shelters we can not and will not make any guarantee on breed or size. We can tell you that they are 100% RESCUED! And that is the BEST breed! *please note that we are a foster home based rescue and we do home visits as part of the adoption process - we are unable to adopt to families who live outside of the Chicago and surrounding suburbs. Thank you for your understanding.Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.February 9, 2025, 10:38 am

Story
Hi, I'm new to rescue. Please check back to learn more about me once I settle into my foster home, decompress and receive medical care. Follow Just Giants on Facebook, Instagram and Tiktok to watch my journey and receive updates. Dog’s Name: Mika Location: Midlothian, Il Age or Date of Birth: July 1, 2023 Gender: Female Breed: Great Dane Color: Brindle Dogs Weight: 101 Good With Dogs?: Unknown Good with cats?: Unknown Good with kids?: Yes Mika has been in foster care for two days and has really come out of her shell.  She was very timid on day one, but quickly starting showing a desire to get attention from her foster family on day two.  She's now starting to show her playful side.  She hasn't met the resident dogs yet, so we are unable to comment on if she get's along with other dogs yet.  Mika hasn't had any potty accidents in the house, but she hasn't indicated a need to go out either.  She is let out when the resident dogs go out (but separately right now) and she has gone potty each time.  Mika is very timid. Mika is very thin and let's you know when she's hungry.  The resident dogs are fed breakfast and dinner and that's Mika's schedule, however she also wants lunch.  She is very sweet and and gets excited to see her foster family, even if they have been out of the room for just a few minutes.   On night two, Mika made it clear she didn't want to go into her crate, but ultimately gave in. She fussed for about 30 minutes, but we didn't hear a peep out of her after that.   If Mika were adopted today, we would say her adopter needs to give her time to adjust to her new home and family.  She warms up somewhat quickly, but when it comes to her surroundings, she's a bit anxious at first.  A fenced yard would be great so she can run off her extra energy.   It appears a first time giant owner would get a good fit for Mika as she is a gentle girl. Until the profile is removed from the public’s view, this dog is considered available for adoption. To apply to adopt from Just Giants Rescue fill out an online application with the $25 application donation. All approved applications are good for 12 months. Name: Belle Breed: Great Dane Color: Brindle Age or DOB: EST 07/01/2023 Gender: Female Weight: 110 lbs Location: Plainfield, IL Good with cats? Unknown Good with kids? Yes Good with dogs? Yes Belle is very timid. She doesn’t come up to you on her own. We are using a leash to take her outside because I am afraid if she is out on her own she won’t come in without having to corral her. We are working on her giving us signs to go out. Right now we are taking her out often so she knows where she needs to go to go out. She is a hungry girl. We are feeding her 3 times a day. She needs to find a family that will give her space and let her get comfortable on her own terms. She is very sweet and can’t wait to see her open up in the weeks to come. Belle needs an adopter that has a fenced in yard. She is adjusting but very skittish so having a yard will keep her from getting loose. She doesn’t need a first time giant owner she is very sweet and gentle. Until the profile is removed from the public’s view, this dog is considered available for adoption. Story
Sox is 8 months old, 40 lbs and a bundle of puppy energy. Sox was found as a stray when he was just 3 months old. We believe he is a great dane mixed with a lab, however, only time will tell how big he will get. He is super sweet to both dogs and cats, loves to cuddle with his humans and has a cute snore when he sleeps. He loves to eat all his food and then some! He has webbed feet that are all white like Socks! He is still working on potty training which can be due to to BIG dog development but had been going outside when he wasn't distracted by playing. He is crate trained but sleeps through the night outside of it with no accidents. He would do best with a dog friend to play with and a fenced in backyard to run in. If you would like to meet this dog please call Teri at 630-897-7454. The adoption fee is $225. Adoption fee includes: - microchip - spay/neuter - age appropriate vaccinations: Bordetella, DH(L)PP, rabies - heartworm preventive & flea/tick preventive - deworming
