Diesel - Male Great Dane Age: 4 Years Gets along with: Cats: Needs slow introduction Dogs: Yes Kids: Needs slow introduction given size Location: Northeast Indiana Weight: 145 lbs Diesel came into rescue very shutdown, but quickly came out of his shell to a happy Dane, and all that that entails (bouncy boy with a deadly tail). He has fit right in with the three other dogs and cats in his foster home. He is learning what toys are, but doesn’t play much yet. He will follow you around (even when vacuuming) and will help you in the kitchen. He spends the night in his crate, but would prefer sleeping in the bedroom (we will leave that up to his new home). He loves snuggling on the couch, and naps there regularly. He walks on a leash, but needs a little more work. Like most big dogs he like his head and ears scratched, but will turn around so you can scratch his butt. Diesel would fit in almost any family. He is good with other dogs, but would be happy to be the center of attention as an only dog. He would like occasional walks, but is great at taking naps. His recall is still slow, so a fenced yard would be needed. Until the profile is removed from the public’s view, the dog is considered available for adoption.  Meet and greets can be scheduled with approved adopters. Transportation from the foster home to the adopter is the responsibility of the adopter to coordinate. Just Giants does not adopt outside of the continental US. Meet Trixie, a beautiful, fun Great Dane who is about 4 years old and weighs about 100 lbs. Trixie is so very sweet and always wants to cuddle. Does she know that she is 100 lbs and not a lap dog? She certainly does not! She loves to be the center of your world. She is super smart and treat motivated her, so training her has been and will be a joy. She is protective of her home but not at all aggressive, and she has become BFFs with the resident dog. Since she doesn't really understand her size, we would like to place her in a home with kids 12 or older only.  We also would like her in a home with a securely fenced in yard.  If you are interested in adopting/meeting this pup , please complete our online adoption application that you can find here: https://www.starfishanimalrescue.com/adopt/dog-adoption-application  . Your application will be reviewed by our team and if it is a good fit, we will send to the foster family to set up a meet! Hello world, my name is Agatha! I am an 11.5 month old Great Dane girlie and I'm doing my best to learn how to be a dog over here in my foster home. So far, so good! I like the other dogs and I will need a dog friend in my forever home who can keep showing me how to live the good life! I love to rough house with the resident dog in my foster home. I do well going for walks on a leash, but I'd love to have a fenced yard to romp in at my forever home! Bonus points if we get to play fetch. I have a favorite yellow ball that I carry with me most of the time, so I'll be extra happy if you throw it for me! I think I'd probably be fine with cats in my forever home, though I haven't met any. I like the older kids I've met and I think I'd also like little ones! Though I can be timid, once I get to know you, I am a total love bug. I am trusting of my human friends and I like to give kisses and cuddles. I will follow you everywhere and lay my head on you after you've had a long day. My foster mom says I'll be a wonderful dog for the right family willing to help me continue building confidence.
