Story
Meet Duke! Have you ever wanted a guard dog, but also a family dog? A gentle giant that wouldn’t hurt a fly? A 120 pound playful, gentle soul who just wants to love and be loved? Drum roll please….we would like to announce…DUKE!! Duke is a perfect mix of couch potato and playful toy loving guy. This senior gentleman found himself at ADL after the family he’s had his whole life, had a change of circumstances and brought him to a shelter in Chicago. ADL swooped in to save this guy and give him a second chance at forever. Duke would easily mesh right into any family dynamic. Cats? No problem. He’s curious, but redirects well when requested. He responds well to no and leave it. Kids? This gentle guy doesn’t mind cuddling, hugs or kisses. Men? Sure thing! Women? Yes. He’s a real ladies man. Other dogs? Prefers to do his own thing, but coexist well with other dogs. Duke loves, loves, loves playing with toys, especially carrying around stuffed animal toys gently in his mouth. Duke knows the in and outs of being in a loving home. He knows how’s to sit and shake! He is very, very good motivated. He does not need a crate. He can be left to roam free in the home and he go out without accidents most of the time. Duke has some arthritis in his back legs, so he has started on the librela shot and a pain management regime that will need to be continued throughout his life. Duke would do best in a home where drool is tolerated, toys are plentiful, and dogs are allowed to cuddle on the couch. Who’s ready for the goofiest, least scary guard dog around? *Duke is being fostered in Janesville, WI. Albert's Dog Lounge is a specialty rescue focusing primarily on senior and special needs dogs. Our process includes an approved application, reference checks, a homevisit, and then a meet and greet with the dog. Adoption fee is $300, ($550 for a pair). Story
A few years ago, this sweet girl was found dumped along the fence of our rescue! She was skin and bones and needed immediate help, so we named her MayDay. Our best guess is she around 6 or 7 years old and a Great Dane/ Staffshire terrier mix. She is very gentle, loves people, and really enjoys car rides. Mayday gets along with males, but is not very playful with other dogs. She would do best as the only fur baby in the home. Since she has been a kennel dog her whole life, MayDay is not pot trained so she will need a family who understands that. This dear girl would love a chance to live out her days in the comfort of a home with a family who will love her! If you want to give MayDay that chance, find us at https://www.tailsoftheforgottenpaws.org/ to fill out an application or on facebook (tails of the forgotten paws)

Story
Hello world, my name is Agatha! I am an 11.5 month old Great Dane girlie and I'm doing my best to learn how to be a dog over here in my foster home. So far, so good! I like the other dogs and I will need a dog friend in my forever home who can keep showing me how to live the good life! I love to rough house with the resident dog in my foster home. I do well going for walks on a leash, but I'd love to have a fenced yard to romp in at my forever home! Bonus points if we get to play fetch. I have a favorite yellow ball that I carry with me most of the time, so I'll be extra happy if you throw it for me! I think I'd probably be fine with cats in my forever home, though I haven't met any. I like the older kids I've met and I think I'd also like little ones! Though I can be timid, once I get to know you, I am a total love bug. I am trusting of my human friends and I like to give kisses and cuddles. I will follow you everywhere and lay my head on you after you've had a long day. My foster mom says I'll be a wonderful dog for the right family willing to help me continue building confidence. If you're looking for a lovable lanky lady, I am ready to find my future family and I'd be thrilled to meet you! My adoption fee is $800 - This includes Gastropexy Surgery when I'm of age!

Story
Musky the regal male Great Dane puppy is on the prowl for a forever home! Musky is almost 5.5 months old and weighs about 60 pounds now, though he is a growing guy! Musky gets along with other dogs and, with time to decompress, he adores respectful children! He seeks out his 9 year old human foster friend any chance he gets. He's just a sweet guy who loves meeting new people! He is working on basic commands in his foster home, as well as all his puppy training - leash walking, crate training, potty training. He's making great progress, and he hopes his forever family will continue to work with him! Musky is an affectionate doggo who will happily sleep right next to you....or on top of you....if you'll let him! He would love to join an active household where he can be in on the action. He will be someone's very best friend and we can't wait for him to meet his forever human(s)! Apply today! Adoption fee: $800, this includes the cost of gastropexy

Story
Venus is an adorable, Great Dane mix who weighs about 109 lbs. She can be a little shy and timid at first, but once you give her a few treats, she is sweet and affectionate. She knows basic commands like 'sit', 'down', 'paw', 'leave-it', 'watch' and more! She is potty-trained and crate trained. She is considered a medium energy dog, who is food motivated and very bright because she is picking up training fast! She would do best in a house without other pets. She is a sensitive girl who is working hard on her dog reactivity training during walks! She is a good dog who will stare into your eyes lovingly and give little kisses. She is also a good office companion while her foster mom works from home!
