She is crate trained and is doing very well with learning manners. Please help us make room to save more homeless pets!!! Adopting from Hope Rescues saves the life of two.. the one you adopt and the one your adoption makes room for. We are a Rescue which means we physically go and save lives. Story
I am Buster, the gentle giant you’ve heard about! At 3 years old, and 113 pounds I’m all about my people. I’m a big softie, and I love hanging out with my humans. I’m good around other dogs, but I don’t need a canine buddy—my humans are all I need! I’m happiest when I’m with my family, so I’d love a home where someone is around most of the time. A big bowl of water (I might dribble a bit, sorry about that!), walks (though I’m still learning to walk politely on a gentle leader), sleeping on a doggie bed by my human's bed at night and being around my humans soaking up all the love and attention are my favorite things. I am not a fan of cats and I will chase them so a home without those pesky creatures is best for me. My ideal home will have a 6-foot fence, I can jump a 4-foot fence (and I will), if in a home with a shorter fence I will have to be taken out on a leash. I’m housebroken and respectful about not getting on the furniture. If you’re looking for a loyal, loving companion who enjoys the simple things in life, I’m your guy. I might be big, but my heart is even bigger!!!! Buster is neutered, up to date on all vaccines, heart worm negative and on heartworm preventative, and microchipped. Buster’s adoption fee is $425.00. Story
If you’re looking for the happiest dog you’re ever going to meet, Sterling is the one for you! Don’t let his pictures fool you—this guy radiates joy and positive energy. He wants to meet everyone because he believes every stranger is one snuggle away from becoming another best friend!Sterling has stunning dark grey Weimaraner coloring with a Great Dane head and floppy lips combined with a lab’s happiness and size. He has such a gentle, loving temperament. He’s about 3 years old and underweight at 54 pounds—he’ll probably be 65-70 pounds once he’s filled out. This resilient stray wandered into his foster’s front yard on a freezing day, shivering until his soulful eyes melted our hearts.Sterling is potty trained, knows basic commands like “sit” and “down,” and gets along beautifully with his foster’s large female dog, small female dog, three cats, adults and kids. He did great meeting the whole pack at the rescue, too!Sterling adapts well when left on his own and has been taught good manners—no begging, no barking or any jumping on furniture. If you sit on the floor, he will plop right next to you, eager for your company. Sterling is ready to settle into his forever home. He’s an easily trainable, happy-go-lucky kinda guy, and he will become the loving 4-legged companion your family has been missing.IMPORTANT: Please read all below, especially if you live outside of Texas, which is where our rescue is located.Apply to adopt on our website: https://www.charmingpetrescue.org/adoptAll of our animals are spayed/neutered, microchipped, and up to date on shots.ALL of our animals are located in Boerne, TX, but transport after adoption is available to other states for a $300 fee for dogs or an additional fee varying by location for cats. If you are seeing our pets posted in your state, that's because you live near a transport stop, they are not currently at that location. Petfinder lists our pets as 'Out of Town' pets at other locations, and Adopt-a-Pet lists our location as a Transport stop. Those are currently the only options they offer to make this clear, so we put this description we've put at the bottom to explain it. You can read more about transport here: www.charmingpetrescue.org/transportWe understand transport is not an option for everyone, but we offer it at the cost we pay the transport company for those who wish to adopt from us.February 28, 2025, 11:11 am

Story
Meet Brienne, the gentle giant with a heart as big as her stature. At 6 years old and weighing in at a whopping 120 pounds (give or take a few— a lady never discloses her weight!), Brienne is a loving soul who’s experienced the highs and lows of life. Sadly, she was surrendered to animal control when her owners could no longer care for her and the many animals they had. But despite the hardship, Brienne remains as sweet and trusting as ever, ready to find a new home where she can continue sharing her love. Brienne isn’t alone in her journey—she has her best friend by her side, Cadette, a 9-year-old cattle dog who is much smaller in size but just as big in heart. These two have spent their entire lives together, and they find the most comfort in each other’s company. Though they couldn’t be more different in size—Brienne’s towering 120 pounds next to Cadette’s petite frame—they are perfectly matched in spirit and devotion. They share a kennel here, and it’s clear they are each other’s rock. They ask only one simple thing: to be walked together. It’s a small request for two souls who have always been side by side, supporting one another through everything. Brienne and Cadette’s story is one of loyalty, resilience, and love. If you’re looking for a pair of gentle giants who will bring joy and warmth to your life, look no further. Together, they are the perfect combination of strength and tenderness, ready to create new memories and share a lifetime of love with the right family. Will you be the one to offer them the forever home they deserve?

Story
Meet Elliot, the gentle giant who’s ready to find a family to call his own! 🐾 This sweet 7-year-old Hound/Great Dane mix was surrendered when his family could no longer care for him, but he’s still full of love and ready to start a new chapter. Elliot is a big guy with an even bigger heart, and sometimes, he doesn’t quite realize just how big he is! When he leans in for some love, you’re going with him! 😄 But don’t worry, his affection is worth it. He’s made a couple of dog friends here at the shelter, though he’s a bit awkward when it comes to greetings. With some time, we think he’ll find his perfect match in a doggy buddy! Elliot does struggle a little with holding his pee, so he sometimes wears a belly band to stay clean and sanitary. But that doesn’t stop his sweet personality from shining through! He hasn’t met cats or kids yet, but given his gentle and curious nature, we think he’d be just as sweet and kind-hearted with them as he is with people. If you're looking for a lovable, slightly awkward but oh-so-charming companion, Elliot might just be the perfect fit for your family! 🐶💖 Ready to give this big, goofy boy the forever home he deserves?

Story
Archie was an unclaimed stray saved from our local pound. He is fun and goofy...LOVES to play with his ball and (in warm weather) splash in his baby pool. He's good in the house and not destructive - but he has a serious mistrust of strangers. He will warm up to them after a session of ball throwing - but would need to be heavily managed at first. He'd be a great companion and protector for a woman. For more information - call or text 217-473-9044; or email scottcountydogrescue@gmail.com.
