This tall beauty is Danae. She was brought to us when her owner could no longer care for her. Danae is a very calm, well-tempered, sweet, kind, and gentle girl who is a proud momma to multiple litters. She may surprise you with how big she is, but she is certain to win over your heart with how precious she is. Danae seems to be house trained, walks well on a leash, appears to get along with most dogs, and seems unbothered by cats. If you are looking for a kind-hearted and gracious beauty to bring home and make a new member of your family, come meet Danae! If you are interested in adopting this dog, please submit an adoption questionnaire! Our adoption process is on a first-come, best-match basis and we are not able to hold animals. If you are interested in this specific dog but it ends up not being the best fit upon meeting, our adoption counselors will work with you to help find a match! All household members, including children and other dogs, must come along for the meeting to make sure it's a good fit. If a match is made, we encourage same-day adoptions! Our adoption fees include the animals' spay/neuter, microchip, age-appropriate vaccinations and preventatives, fecal testing, heartworm testing, and a small bag of food to get you started.

Gremlin is being fostered in NC. Howdy, I'm Gremlin, a 6 month old Great Dane, but don't worry, you CAN get me wet and I won't turn into Spike! I actually LOVE playing in water. My foster Mommy says I am a gentle giant, but I am still a baby and very playful. I need to learn my commands by touch because I cannot see or hear. And, well, I can be a little slower and I need repetitiveness with my training so I can be a very good boy. My foster Mommy is working with me on my manners, but I can be a bit slow because I have a great nose for food wherever it is heehee. It takes me a little time to navigate a new area, but I will get it, just be patient with me. Right now, I have a Cane Corso foster sister to play with and I love playing tug and wrestle with her. I am already potty and crate trained! When I wake in the morning, I will bark to let you know I has to go outside to do my business. I also walk well on a leash. The bestest thing I really love is to have my ears rubbed and to cuddle with humans. I don't know why they feel squished, after all, I'm the same size as a chihuahua aren't I LOL I just want my very own family to love me and guide me along my journey in this life. And, of course, to cuddle with furever. BDRA has voted against the use of electrical fencing effective immediately.

Meet Harlow the Hunk! Harlow is a 4 year old Great Dane mix who was pulled after finding himself in a municipal shelter. We were happy to step in and give this handsome man the forever he deserves 💕 Harlow originally was an owner surrender due to his previous family becoming homeless and living out of their car. Harlow lived in that car with his family for a few months, before he found himself at the other shelter. Harlow was clearly loved in the past, but was not able to be properly cared for. He is very underweight and malnourished, but we are working on getting him back to a healthy weight. Harlow is SO sweet! He loves people, other dogs, cats, and is truly a gentle giant 💛 He acts like a puppy with all his happy energy and we are confident he will be a wonderful addition to a family. As with all rescue dogs, they will need a family who is understanding and prepared to work through a period of transition with them as they learn to live in a house and around people. They will need time to trust their new family before working on training, such as house training. This should go without saying, but we require all our animals to be trained using positive reinforcement methods ONLY.
