Story
Active Axel is a handsome golden male German Shepherd/ Great Pyrenees mix who was born on February 11th, 2023 and is still a puppy in every way. He is one of six siblings that survived from a litter of 12. Our guy Axel weighs approximately 90 lbs, and is very GSD smart loving to be next to his humans.  This huge puppy is full of energy and he will fit perfectly in a home where there is a lot of activity, a fenced yard and people who love the BIG DOGS! He really likes walking, hiking, and just a ton of fun with activity. He also loves water and treats the water trough as his own personal spa. We recommend a home with a fence that is a minimum of 5 feet tall.   We do not suggest he go to a home with small children, or farm animals simply because he has no experience with them.  He hangs with his siblings and does well playing with them and also just enjoying their company.  He does need to eat separately for dinner as he protects his food from the other dogs due to early starvation. Handsome Axel is fully vetted, neutered and microchipped and he is kennel and crate trained for quiet time.  This boy needs some time and attention from a caring and dog savvy owner.  He would love to cuddle with you and be your adored companion.  He has such potential…..such love and such a need to grow and evolve into a fine companion in life.  Please email us at ccrtennessee@gmail.com if you are interested in this big baby!  PLEASE NOTE:  Our dogs are transported from Tennessee to meeting places in the states where we have posted.  Further information about us is given on our Adopt-A-Pet site.  The adoption fees vary and will be provided as well as noted on the application you receive.  Contact us at 615-661-5333 or ccrnewengland@gmail.comNovember 5, 2024, 1:27 pm

Story
Gemma is our super smart and happy German Shepherd girl that is a real gem of a dog. This girl is 6 years old and weighs in on the smaller side of a GSD at just 60 pounds.  She is a genuinely curious and happy girl that has all the right measures of playfulness and lazy cuddly time to her personality.  Her favorite things are stuffed toys and tennis balls. This girl is a 'chill' girl and loves to take lots of naps during the day. She has great manners, knows basic commands, is crate trained and housebroken.   She would do great in a home with or without other dogs but we are told that she is a NO CAT type of dog.  She would like to hang out with children older than 10 years of age and on the calm side.  Gemma is ready to find her forever home where she can greet you with her tail wagging and a happy face that lets you know you are important in her life.   If you are interested please write to Critter Cavalry Rescue at ccrtennessee@gmail.com     PLEASE NOTE:   Our dogs and cats are fostered in Tennessee and can transport weekly up to the Northeast region.  Request an application and learn more about Critter Cavalry at https://www.crittercavalry.com/adoption.  November 5, 2024, 1:27 pm

Story
This boy is called Kowboy Kirby and he is a one-year-old 65 lb black and tan German Shepherd who doesn't have an aggressive bone in his body about anything or anyone. He is clueless as to why he should be, so he isn't. Kowboy Kirby is just kind of a goofball that is intelligent and needs to continue to have someone surround him with good guidance and boundaries and the ability to polish him into a fabulous dog. Training is necessary for any German Shepherd and especially for this young boy who hasn't been trained starting early in puppyhood. Only in the past 2 months has he had guidance and a schedule with consistency. He used to not tolerate a wire crate but now he's fine in a plastic crate and he tolerates that. It will be necessary for him not to be left loose in the house when people are gone. He'll get into too much mischief as most dogs will do. Kirby is really a special boy to be as nice and sweet as he is considering the fact that he was found in the middle of a highway during a rainstorm back in July. It was determined that he actually had been given away by someone at a Walmart. These animals should never be handed around like this, but it seems like it's happening more and more. Kirby is housebroken and he walks really nicely on a leash if you're consistent doing it everyday. This is a diamond in the rough kind of guy and we are hoping that you will see the diamond and take him home. Please contact Critter Cavalry Rescue at ccrnewengland@gmail.com And mention where you live, city and state. We transport outside Tennessee to the Northeast as well as doing adoptions locally where we are located in Nashville. PLEASE NOTE:   Our dogs and cats are fostered in Tennessee and can transport weekly up to the Northeast region.  Request an application and learn more about Critter Cavalry at https://www.crittercavalry.com/adoption.November 7, 2024, 10:11 pm

Story
**Meet Emmett! **  A truly handsome one year old German Shepard mix boy that weighs 64 pounds and who might be headed back to the shelter soon when his foster time is up. Emmett is an affectionate, playful pup who’s ready to find his forever family! Story
PLEASE READ ENTIRE POST AVAILABLE FOR ADOPTION - PEACHES BREED - Shepherd Mix SIZE - About 30 pounds AGE - 5-6 years GENDER - Female MEDICAL CONCERNS - None known BEHAVIOR CONCERNS - None known SPECIAL CONSIDERATIONS - Peaches is a lovely girl! She came to us recently when her owner, one of our beloved volunteers, passed away. Originally found as a stray, Peaches was a loved pet and is now adjusting to being in our kennel while a new family is found for her. Our vet feels Peaches is likely 5-6 years old, and some mix of shepherd and something much smaller. She is a 30 pound dog at a healthy weight. Peaches loves people and loves to play! She is very focused on her toys and having someone to share them with! We would love to find her a home with a young, active adopter who can provide a secure home and yard, and lots of exercise and mental stimulation. She is a perfect size for most homes! Peaches is in good health, spayed, microchipped, and fully vaccinated. Peaches is not well suited to small children or very small dogs who could be upset by her enthusiasm, but will fit nicely into many other homes. Our adoption process starts with your email to carerescue@aol.com or Adopt a Pet inquiry. After we receive it, we will email you our prescreening questionnaire. Your answers will help us determine that your home and lifestyle matches the needs of the dog and our adoption criteria. Once determined, we will set up a private meeting with you and the dog at a park near our private kennel just east of Richmond. After meeting the dog and determining that it matches your preferences for a pet, we will accept your application. A home visit by one of our trained volunteers is required for all adoptions, and we will speak with your vet to ensure that you are a responsible pet owner. More information on our website at www.carerva.com.
