Story
He was born into an abusive family who kept a shock collar on him 24/7 then we’re going to take him to the pound so I spontaneously took him without knowing anything about dogs. He’s been living with me for the past two years. He has high high aggression, bite history, a police record and is very anxious. He is bad on walks but great at the dog park, very cuddly, high energy and wants to play 24/7. He has gained anxiety and aggression over the last two years of being with me, but with exercise and correct training, he will be a great dog with minimal problems. Looking for someone who knows a lot about dogs and has a lot of time on their hands.

Story
Hey there, pals! The name's Calhoun, and let me tell ya, I'm the life of the party! 🎉 I may be a two- to three-year-old, 70-pound Shepherd, but don't let my size fool ya – I'm a big bundle of joy just waiting to find my forever home! 🐾 I've been hanging out in my foster home for a few months now, and let me tell ya, I've got the seal of approval from my foster dad! He's always raving about how sweet and loving I am, and let's not forget my impressive people skills – I can get along with any pup I meet! 🐶 I've got this knack for diffusing any tense situations with my goofy antics – whether it's rolling around, jumping over things, or wiggling my way into someone's space, I'm all about spreading those good vibes and showing everyone that life's meant to be enjoyed! 😄 Check out my personality in action: https://youtu.be/Nl18hewfB5U Sure, I may look a bit awkward sometimes with my long legs and silly behavior, but trust me, I'm as athletic as they come! I love zooming around and jumping for joy – it's like I've got springs in my paws! 🐾 And let me tell ya, my foster dad gets a kick out of watching me run – my joy is just contagious! 🏃‍♂️ I went and visited my friends home with 6 dogs and 2 teens and they said I did fantastic even with 13 pound dogs! I received an A+ But hey, I'm not just a goofball – I've got some serious house manners too! I'm crate-trained, walk like a champ on leash, and I'm all about those car rides. Plus, I adore kiddos – they're like my favorite playmates! 👶 I'm on the lookout for a forever home where I can be a part of the family and go on all sorts of adventures together. Once we bond, I'll be your trusty sidekick – whether we're exploring the great outdoors or just cuddling up on the couch. And hey, I've got great recall, so you can bet I'll stick close by your side! 🌟 So, if you think I might be the perfect fit for your crew, don't hesitate to reach out to my adoption coordinator. Let's make some memories together! 🏡 Adoption Link: https://adopt.animalsfirst.com/animal/62cc8e128b02916730334440/64a486df313b01bb73070287 Questions? We have over 15,000 successful adoptions so far and have excellent Google Reviews: https://g.co/kgs/UQ5Pyai We care deeply about making the perfect match between dog and family for long term success. Our rescue has a 2 acre property in Texas where we assess every animal with trainers on staff, we modify behavior as needed, and create individualized behavior plans to help prepare dogs for their future families including crate training, potty training, leash walking, etc. Our fosters are able to attend group trainings and socialization play groups to keep dogs adoption-ready. Our on-site trainers support the positive growth of our dogs and we enjoy seeing their progress! Our commitment to comprehensive medical care sets us apart. We've received glowing feedback from veterinarians who commend our dedication to ensuring the health and well-being of every animal in our care with treatments that often go above and beyond. Our adoption fees reflect the extensive care and resources that go into each animal we save. The adoption fee is a donation to the mission and goes far beyond getting a fully vetted pet. The rescue’s hard costs alone for a healthy dog to go through our program typically range between $412 to $859, which includes boarding, food, medications, vaccines, and spay/neuter. For heartworm-positive dogs, hard costs are upwards of $1,120. Additionally, dogs requiring extended boarding, extra training, or extra medical care—such as dental work, vision care, or orthopedic care—can lead to expenses running into the thousands. Also, included in the fee are costs to cover transport up to the Pacific Northwest or East Coast. While adoption fees help cover part of these expenses, we want to emphasize that Three Little Pitties Rescue is not government funded. It doesn’t stop there! Our adopters also receive these SPECIAL PERKS: Extensive behavioral testing and information from trainers on our staff to ensure the perfect fit for your family Discounts on Embark DNA test kit- $30 off of Breed ID test & $50 off of Breed ID plus Health test 30 day trial of pet insurance with Trupanion A free private online dog training session with GoodPup, plus low pricing for future sessions 70% off of your first order of Fetch, a delicious PNW based fresh dog meatballs subscription Coupons for a fun visit to Petco 20% off of Dr. Cuddles pet first aid and hygiene solutions Discounted heartworm, flea prevention, and monthly dewormer Access to our exclusive FB Adopters page, where you can network for play dates, resources, and connect with other adopters that share their passion for their adopted pup! Story
Meet Luna! She is currently 40 pounds, 6 months old, and we think she may be a Shepherd mix, but with rescue it’s always a guess! Watch Luna’s video here: This striking puppy is simply gorgeous. Not only does lovable Luna have an unusual black and white marking pattern, we also love her freckles! She has black freckles in her white fur, and beautiful freckles on her soft belly too. (You’ll see this often because this lovable girl will roll over at a moment’s notice and offer up her belly for pets and rubs.) Luna also really enjoys head scratches, and will lean into your hand to encourage you and assure you that you are doing a good job. Watch out tho, because she will relax entirely from the head scratches, and you will end up holding her up, lol. (We love this about her – she does everything with her whole heart and complete trust.) But perhaps the best thing about Luna, other than her high squish-level on the squish meter (a real thing that we didn’t just make up), is her unmistakable yet adorable underbite. Luna is a very relaxed and happy puppy, and you will see her smile a lot. Her underbite, especially the two bottom teeth that seem to protrude the most, will tickle your funny bone and make you chuckle and smile. We could honestly stare at this amazing girl all day! Luna is treat- and food-motivated, so we are sure that training will be that much easier. She is very clever and will quickly figure out exactly which pocket you keep your treats in, lol. We are excited to see all the commands and tricks this smart and charming girl will learn. Luna is in a loving foster home with several other dogs (see her brother Marley Pup Cup if you can stand the gorgeousness overload). Luna's foster mum reports that clever Luna is already crate and potty trained! Luna is still young so she will need a family that can commit to training, socialization and all the dedication puppyhood requires. Her new family will need to continue with potty and crate training and daily exercise. We require a commitment from adoptive families to crate train their new puppy. When old enough, they will be perfect to go on walks and hikes or show off around your neighborhood. You will be guaranteed to get lots of kisses in return from your new best friend! Application link: https://adopt.animalsfirst.com/animal/62cc8e128b02916730334440/66d74dd543711d205405b810 Please email elizabethbower@threelittlepittiesrescue.org with any questions. Available for adoption in NV, MT, CO,UT, ID, OR, WA, Canada, and now the East Coast! Our PNW dogs are brought to you in style by a beautiful USDA licensed semi-truck, equipped with air conditioning for comfort, two drivers, and 2 onboard attendants providing 24 hour care. Our East Coast route will travel in a private, air conditioned 3LP-run van transport. Pick up day is unforgettable! You will get to follow along on their journey through a private FB Event page, where you will see photos, have the opportunity to connect with other adopters, and receive updates and constant communication along the way. One of our Adoption Coordinators can help to find the closest transport pick up location to you! The adoption fee is $825.00 and includes all vetting as recommended by our doctor: DAPP (2 to 4 depending on age and time in the program), Bordetella, Rabies vaccine (if old enough), multiple broad spectrum deworming treatments, spay/neuter, flea prevention, 2 months of heartworm preventative, extended medical such as dentals, eye surgeries, and orthopedic surgeries prior to adoption when suggested by our partner vets, a microchip with free lifetime registration, a high quality nylon Martingale collar for dogs over 4 months old, a health certificate deeming the pup healthy for travel, cost of transport*, and many priceless years of love and loyal companionship! *WE ARE TOLD THAT WE GO ABOVE AND BEYOND MEDICALLY. This is the feedback we tend to get, although we cannot guarantee perfect health. *To fully vet a dog in the PNW or the NE at many vets it would be upwards of $1,800 just to fix, vaccinate, chip, etc. The adoption fees charged by our rescue do not cover our expenses medically for each animal, but we offset costs with donations. Your adoption fee is considered a donation towards actual costs. Why adopt from Three Little Pitties? The stray and animal overpopulation in the Greater Houston area is the highest in the nation. Story
This is Dominic, tall, dark, and handsome, plus he is smart, great company and ready for forever! See what he is bringing to the table here then come back to read more about him! https://youtu.be/aMf5YB7lvvs Dominic became a fast favorite of everyone here for more than his good looks. His happy sunshine face and general good-natured personality are magnetic! A perfect passenger prince, enjoys going out in the rain, house and crate trained, self-entertaining….seriously the more I think about it- he is pretty great... Ill race you to apply for him! Estimated to be 4 years old and weighing 57 lbs, Dominic had us all guessing at what breed mix he might be. We can’t say with 100% confidence with any rescue dog but this boy here feels like a shot in the dark for us, so if you adopt him and get his DNA results can you share them? It’ll help settle some bets. We have a couple bets on German Shepherd/Australian Shepherd, all in. Dominic is so fortunate and is being fostered in a loving home with a truly dedicated and dog-savvy family. House and crate trained is just the beginning, they teach and insist their fosters have good house manners and mind basic commands. Dominic is living along-side his foster's two female pitties and is doing great, showing respect for their boundaries, taking corrections well, and learning more and more about dog manners and group play. He is dog-friendly but has an enthusiastic approach to play that doesn’t suit every dog. Dominic would flourish in a home with a confident, moderately playful female dog who can help guide him as he learns the ropes. He may be mature age-wise with a puppy like excitement when meeting new dogs, and an eagerness to please that makes him a fast learner. Whether its a correction from a dog or guidance from his person, he adjusts his approach/behavior easily.. His foster has shared his obvious love of outdoor adventures, and you can see he is practically built for it. With a love of the water, he will be in heaven as your hiking companion, especially if the trial leads to a lake/pond/waterfall he can enjoy-he is a true water lover. It’s worth mentioning that his love of water does not stop when it comes to rain. Some water loving dogs hate the rain and it can make you crazy when potty time is feared on account of a bit of a storm, not here though! One area he is working on that he will likely need continued support in mastering is with his leash skills. He currently pulls a bit when he is eager but corrects easily. He may need some leash work, but his enthusiasm for walks and meeting new friends show his love of life and how ready he is to experience all the things that come with being a loved pet. Because of his size and energy, Dominic would do best in a home with older kids and no cats, as he’s still working on his boundaries with smaller animals and his enthusiasm for play could knock over a little one on unsteady legs. He would both love and thrive in a home with a dog-friend to bounce around with and take naps in the shade next to. But don’t worry, despite his love of a good romp, you will often find him laying around with a toy or chewie. We love a a self-entertaining dog! A yard to stretch those long legs, and for all those games of chase, would be best but isn’t absolutely necessary. Personality wise, Dominic can be described as a gentleman, who is both social and a touch silly. He is happy to see you, and greets strangers with a welcoming energy, never pushy or demanding of attention. Dominic has classic good dog potential, he is most of the way there but a forever family of his own and experiencing life by your side, is what will bring out that last bit of perfection. If any part of you thinks Dominic is the one, apply now! Don’t let him get away! To the slight sadness of his adoring foster, we know he is going to be adopted too quick. If you have any questions about Dominic or are ready to move forward by applying, here is all the info you need. Please email michelleboswell@threelittlepittiesrescue.org with any questions or complete the application found here https://adopt.animalsfirst.com/animal/62cc8e128b02916730334440/66eb262cff0922c79a0c9373 Available for adoption in NV, MT, CO,UT, ID, OR, WA, Canada, and now the East Coast!
