Story
✨Meet Little Man✨ Don’t let the name fool you — Little Man is anything but little! If Gentle Giant had a poster child, it would be this handsome 7-year-old German Shepherd mix who is a big boy with an even bigger heart. Little Man is incredibly friendly and loves being around people — he’s always ready to make a new friend, especially if treats are involved (bonus points for cheese or peanut butter… those are his love languages 😄). He’s a smart, curious guy who enjoys puzzle toys and anything that lets him use his brain. Little Man already knows his basic commands and is overall a calm, well-behaved companion who’s easy to have around the house. He walks calmly on a leash as well. When it comes to other animals, he’s a total social butterfly. He’s great with both dogs and cats, and while he tends to prefer smaller dogs, he gets along well with dogs of all sizes. One of his favorite things? Car rides! He’s a well-mannered passenger and would love to be your co-pilot for errands, road trips, or pup cups on the go. With his sweet nature, loyal personality, and just the right touch of goofiness, Little Man is ready to bring love, companionship, and a whole lot of joy to his forever home.

Meet Moose, a big boy with a heart full of joy. He's known for his goofy antics and friendly demeanor, making everyone he meets smile. Despite his age, Moose is incredibly spirited and loves a good game of fetch. He's known for his sweet, goofy, and friendly nature, making everyone around him smile. He's a perfect companion for someone who enjoys laughter and the occasional lazy afternoon. However, he's not a fan of cats, preferring human companionship or the company of other dogs. Story
Meet Oak – A Sweet Soul Learning to Trust the WorldOak is a 3-year-old Shepherd mix who is just beginning her journey into a safe, loving life. At 46 lbs, she is currently underweight but steadily gaining and is expected to fill out into a healthy 60–70 lb dog. Despite her rough start, Oak’s gentle, loving nature shines through more every day.She absolutely adores people. While she can be a bit nervous at first—cowering at loud noises or sudden movements—it doesn’t stop her from seeking out affection. In fact, one of her favorite things in the world is a good head pat. She wants to be close, she wants to trust, and with a little patience, her sweet personality truly blossoms. As Oak settles in, her playful and energetic side is emerging. She’s a true shepherd at heart with high energy and would love a home with a yard where she can run and explore. She’s still learning the basics—leash walking is a work in progress, and she may pull or jump when excited. She’s also almost fully house-trained and knows commands like “sit,” with more learning underway. Oak does best in a calm, patient home that can help build her confidence and continue her training. She can be vocal in her crate when left alone and is still working on feeling secure during those times. Because of her sensitivity, a home without small children would be ideal, and she would do best with experienced adopters who understand shy or under-socialized dogs. She has shown selective behavior with other dogs and a strong interest in small animals like chickens, so careful introductions—or being the only pet—may be best. What makes Oak so special is her resilience and her desire to love. Even when she’s unsure, she leans into connection. She’s the kind of dog who, with time and trust, will form an incredibly deep bond with her person. If you’re looking for a dog to grow with—one who will reward your patience with loyalty, affection, and a truly special connection—Oak is ready to find her forever home.Dogs are not placed on a first-come, first-serve basis. We strive to find the perfect home for each animal. Applications may take up to 48 hours to process. All CAWS animals are fixed, microchipped, and vaccinated. Her adoption fee is $200. Story
Looking for your one and only? So is Gracie. Gracie is a gorgeous 5-year-old German Shepherd with 80 pounds of loyalty, love, and playful energy. While she’s not big on treats, she’ll do just about anything for her favorite toys, and she thrives in a fenced yard where she can run, play, and show off her goofy, joyful side.Gracie is house-trained, crate-trained, and a quiet, polite housemate. This gentle giant is very curious of feline friends so he would do best in a home without kitties!Health & Care:Neutered and up to date on all vaccinationsHouse-ready and fine in a walk-in kennel when neededIf you’re looking for a big-hearted, fun-loving dog who will bring endless joy and laughter into your life, The Captain is your guy. We are heartbroken each day with the many incredible and loving animals found wandering our streets. So often are these animals dumped, abandoned, or born on the streets and never find a home to call their own. We are giving them the chance that every animal deserves.
