Story
Meet Gracie, a 3-year-old German Shepherd who is the perfect mix of affection, playfulness, and devotion. She's an overall confident and happy dog who wants to share her love with you. Gracie loves being outside, going for walks and she LOVES to play. A fenced yard and rousing game of fetch brings her great joy - she'll drop her ball at your feet and gaze at you with those soulful eyes while patiently waiting for you to take your turn. Treats are not a big thing for her but she is motivated by toys. Gracie is a stunning beauty at 65 pounds - she's physically and mentally strong, and needs humans who will continue to teach her how to walk politely on leash and who will keep her brain occupied through mental activities. She sometimes forgets her house manners and will try to get on a counter or other high surface, but she's a good listener who takes correction well. Gracie absolutely loves her people and she promises that you will be the apple of her eye, and asks that she be yours in return. She does not like to share your attention with other animals, and should be the only pet in the home. Gracie is fully house trained and crate trained, and quiet in the house. If you're looking for a canine companion to share your life with, Gracie is ready to become your steadfast and loving friend. To meet Gracie, please fill out an online application at http://caws.org/adoption-application. Dogs are not placed on a first-come, first-serve basis. We strive to find the perfect home for each animal. Applications may take up to 48 hours to process. All CAWS animals are fixed, microchipped, and vaccinated. Her adoption fee is $200. If you are interested in adopting a CAWS pet, please fill out an online application at https://caws.org/adoption-applicationOctober 3, 2024, 7:27 am

Story
Don't let his name fool you, Bunnie is actually a dog ---- a 6-year-old German Shepherd Dog to be precise! True to his adorable namesake, he does bound around the yard like a puppy when he's happy. Bunny is 85 pounds of gentleness, a good boy who loves attention and affection, and is equally playful and easy going. True to his German Shepherd nature, he is protective over his people/person, and will require additional training to help him expand his social circle. Bunny is crate trained and house trained, gets along well with dogs around his size, and is best suited for a home with older children. Cats are unknown. Bunny enjoys regular walks, time in the yard and going for rides in the car. He also loves to be brushed and will nuzzle his head into his people when he wants affection. If Bunny sounds like a good fit for you, please fill out an application at http://caws.org/adoption-application. Dogs are not placed on a first-come, first-serve basis. Story
Meet this sensitive girl whose heart is bigger than her adorable ears. She is estimated to be a 2 year old German Shepherd Dog. She LOVES to play (and play and play). She's an affectionate goofball with endless enthusiasm who deserves to live her greatest adventure yet. Roxy can be shy/fearful with new people. She is very friendly when people give her the time and space to go at HER pace to get comfortable. When someone imposes themselves on her quicker than what she feels safe with, she may fearfully react. Roxy's foster parents will work with her new family to have a smooth, low-stress, incremental transition for her so that everyone is set up for success. In order to be considered as the future protector of her heart, below are the must-haves: -A fenced-in yard with plenty of open space -An active home with at least 1 other active dog to help her burn energy and save both your and her sanity -Someone home most of the day -A 'controlled' environment that does not have 'strangers' going in and out. See more about Roxy here! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=D_m4RvCK0JoDogs are not placed on a first-come first-serve basis. Story
Sunny came to us in 2020 from a loving family, who had adopted another pet and had need to rehome sunny (who was better behaved). Sunny has been a good dog for our small family. But with busy schedules and child care needs that come first, Sunny has not been able to receive the active play and running /walking that she deserves. She loves to run up and down along the fence to bark at the neighbors dog. She needs room to run and play with her new owners. She is a house dog and usually prefers to be inside where the people are. If you are outside frequently with her, she will be out with you. Same for inside. Comes with a kennel and two large beds. Plus dog food.

Story
Tundra is a seven year-old German Shepherd dog. She’s silly, goofy, little lazy and very sweet. She loves cold weather and camping and will snuggle up by the fire at night. Loves to go on walks, but does need to be with someone who is experienced since she is reactive to dogs that she does not know. She currently lives in a household with one other dog and they do great together. She just needs to be introduced if there is another dog. She does have a history of nipping at kids and should not be around young children. She needs someone that has patience and preferably does not live in an apartment because she has anxiety and does bark when the owner is gone. She’s a sweet, loving girl that is ready to be someone’s new best friend.

Story
Copper is a loving loyal companion with some issues that need to be worked through. He is a decently trained dog that we are fostering after rescuing him from a bad situation. We think the previous handler was not experienced, possibly abusive, and neglected to socialize him. Copper is receptive to treats and toys. He has a mild temperament around the house, but is easily excited by passing dogs and people. I think he could be a great service/working dog with the right handler, but they would need to work through his issue with fear-based aggression towards people and other dogs. He has been muzzle trained. He has tried to bite a trainer while he was with his previous owner, but I do not have the details on what exactly happened. Experienced dog handlers only please. Copper will not do well around children and cats until he is more socialized. He knows basic commands and will come when he is called in the yard. He loves playing with balls, tugs, and will bring toys back when thrown.
