Story
My dogs name is Axle he is a pure breed German Shepherd and such a. Good boy. He has a lot of energy and loves to cuddle with a constantly wagging tale ( it’s lethal) we got him at 6 weeks from a pet shop. He broke his leg and had surgery when he was about 6 months and is fully healed. He also has a chicken allergy which has been tough because he lives eating everything. He spends most of his time with our other dog (yorkie). He gets along great with kids I have two one of the main reason is my infant daughter axle shedding is affecting her breathing my son never had an issue (3year old) but not the same for her. We had to separate him and keep him in only one room away from her but it isn’t fair to him. It causes him to be anxious and stressed so then he itches. He deserves a home he can be in freely and not ina crate or sequestered to one room. He is an amazing pup who serves to be loved and taken care of. I’m not asking for money just a home that can give him love and attention

Story
Eva is a very energetic 5 year old shepherd that needs a good home with an exoerienced owner who can give her the exercise and attention she needs. She does not do well with other dogs and does not like cats, but does love people. Shes a little too energetic for kids and she plays a little rough so i wouldnt recommend children for her new home.

Story
Meet Cooper Cooper is a stunning and wonderful purebred 3.5 year old GSD. He came from a junk yard two years ago. He is an escape artist. He would do best with a single owner, and could use a job, sport, or some sort of work. He would excel at any assigned task. Cooper was adopted a year ago but sadly, his owner unfortunately experienced medical issues that required him to surrender Cooper back to Lincoln/Cumberland shelter. We met and assessed Cooper, who reminded me a lot of my son's retired military working dog. He will take a bit of time to warm up to a new person, but once he has, in the case of the shelter staff, he is happy and playful. We prefer an adopter to have GSD or Malinois experience. He is not a famly-type pet. Cooper needs a person who understands this type of dog and he needs. His hips look great, and we saw no concerning behaviors. Thank you for choosing rescue.

Story
This is MACON! The handsomest 2 year old male who is a very striking breed of dog and dog. Seriously, we're not sure his breed but we know he'll be a larger pup and he's wonderful. Macon was found running down the middle of the highway in Macon County, was found by some kind souls who took him in. Macon loves other dogs and kids, but he has a bit too much energy for the good Samaritans that found him. He foster sister is a 13 year old Chi that Macon is very respectful to, but the Chi is a bit cantankerous and doesn't like to share. Macon knows his manners, caught on to the basics very quickly, he knows to sit, stay and other basic commands. He absolutely LOVES toys. His fosters say he could chase a tennis ball or frisbee forever (fetch level pro) but he does very well when let inside to cuddle on the couch too. If you are interested in having this wonderful pup join your family, please let us know using this link: dixiegirldogrescue.org/adopt-form. From there, we'll forward your application to his foster family who will be in touch. ======================================================================================== If interested in adopting one of our available pets, please fill out an application at http://www.dixiegirldogrescue.org/adopt-form PLEASE MAKE NOTE- OUR DOGS ARE FOSTERED IN ALABAMA (UNLESS OTHERWISE STATED), OUR DOGS TRANSPORT TO THEIR NEW FAMILIES IN RHODE ISLAND AFTER THEY HAVE BEEN ADOPTED. Story
Meet Rocky: Your New Best Friend!Rocky is a charming Labrador Retriever and German Shepherd mix with a beautiful black and tan coat. Rocky is around 11 years old and weighs 54 pounds. Despite his mature age, he maintains a medium energy level, making him the perfect companion for both play and relaxation.Rocky has a gentle and loving disposition. He interacts well with other dogs, regardless of their gender, and shows no signs of aggression over food, toys, or other objects. Until recently, he had been owned by an elderly woman His calm nature makes him an ideal pet for families and seniors alike. He has played with and met children, but because he has not lived with children we think children over age 7 would be best. Rocky does not like cats and is very cat-aggressive, so a cat-free home is a must! All the cats he has met agree. Rocky is crate-trained and is accustomed to morning and afternoon potty breaks, after which he enjoys a bit of outdoor playtime. He exhibits no separation anxiety and remains calm and clean in his kennel. He does well on the leash with no pulling. Rocky would thrive with a loving family or a single adult who enjoys playtime and companionship. Rocky might be the perfect addition to your family if you are looking for a loyal and affectionate companion!Name: RockyBreed: Black Labrador Retriever/German Shepherd DogSex: MaleAge: 11 years  (estimated)Weight: 54lbsSpayed/Neutered: YesVaccinations: Up to dateHeartworm: Negative on recent testingMicrochipped: YesBASED ON OUR OBSERVATIONS: Good with Children: Over 7Good with Dogs: YesGood with Cats: No very cat aggressiveAdoption Fee: $350.00  (includes transport fee when applicable)Location of dog currently:    New England IMPORTANT INFORMATION - Paws New England is a foster-based rescue; our dogs reside in various locations throughout the south & New England.  Adoption donations cover pre-adoption vet costs (including vaccinations, spay/neuter when age appropriate, and heartworm testing/treatment when necessary), a microchip, and transportation to New England if necessary.Donations for our young, healthy puppies and dogs support their fellow canines of advanced age or suffering from injuries and abuse whose donations are reduced but whose veterinary costs are typically much higher.
