Story
As a Rescue do not euthanize dogs but dogs that are listed as URGENT are still waiting to be saved from animal control and they do euthanise. We can only save them when space is available or have an adopter. Gambit is 9 months old German Shepherd mix, is about 58pounds and dog friendly. This boy has good energy, and very petit! He is in a kill shelter. Let’s find the sweet guy a home of his own. If you would like to adopt them, you need to put in an application ASAP

Story
Lana is a gorgeous one-year old GS who was owner surrendered recently to our program. She was getting out of their yard and they decided that they didn't have time for her and decided to rehome her.  Inspite the change in her life it is clear to see that she loves people and is very affectionate, but she does not know her size. At 70 pounds she is a very healthy girl and we are working on training her not to jump on people when she is seeking attention. As much as she loves people, she is insecure around other dogs and barks when she is nervous. The person who adopts her will need to be dog savvy; especially with this breed. She will need an alpha personality type who is stong physically and mentally to guide Lana. She is so young that with the right training she will be amazing! Lana is soulful and it's obvious that she's a very loyal dog. Lana is was recently tested and she is heartworm negative. We have her on a prevention and strongly suggest she remains on one for the rest of her life. In addition to being heartworm negative, she is up to date on her vaccinations and microchipped. Her coat is thick and will need a daily brushing and grooming from time to time. She has the best coat for cool temperatures.  We were told that she is friendly with cats, but as of right now she has not been cat tested in our program. Currently she is in Arkansas, but transport is available to New England.  Lanas adoption fee is $700 and that does cover the cost of HEARTS ground transportation.  ##2239211##

Story
Meet Hope, a 9-week-old German Shepherd/Retriever mix (with a touch of Boxer, perhaps) who is full of puppy energy and charm! Hope is the perfect blend of playful, intelligent, and loving. She’s happiest when romping around outside, chasing toys, or indulging her curious nature. A fenced yard is a must for this active girl, as she loves exploring and soaking up the outdoors. Hope is a social butterfly who has never met a stranger. She adores being loved on and eagerly returns the affection—but fair warning, she hasn’t quite figured out personal space yet! She’s currently learning house and crate training, showing off her smarts and adaptability. With her gorgeous looks, happy-go-lucky personality, and love for playtime and snuggles, Hope is growing quickly and ready to be your best friend. She would thrive in a home with older kids and plenty of love to give. Are you ready to give this sweet, intelligent pup her forever home? If interested in adopting one of our available pets, please fill out an application at https://www.dixiegirldogrescue.org/forms PLEASE MAKE NOTE- OUR DOGS ARE FOSTERED IN ALABAMA (UNLESS OTHERWISE STATED), OUR DOGS TRANSPORT TO THEIR NEW FAMILIES IN RHODE ISLAND AFTER THEY HAVE BEEN ADOPTED. Story
We have not had Cowboy long but it was clear from the first minute we met, Cowboy is a wonderful boy! Cowboy seems to know some basic commands such as "shake" and "sit". He is good with the other dogs but we haven't tested him with cats or other animals. He is good with all humans as he did not hesitate to greet the other pet owners at our Vet's Office. Cowboy was an owner surrender. His owner was an older gentleman and could no longer care for him. Please consider giving Cowboy the forever home he so desperately needs. He was once loved as anyone can see by his personality. He is thoughtful, kind, eager to please, and above all a good dog! You will never go wrong with Cowboy! RPACI is a non profit rescue, and currently possess our 501C3 to operate as such. Please visit us on Facebook: Rebecca's Paws and Claws in Remlap and our website: www.rpacirescue.org. All dogs from this rescue are transported from Alabama to the New England area and delivered in RI. Each dog will come fully vetted. Price also includes transportation and a Health Certificate as required by law. There is a 100.00 deposit required at the time of adoption to secure the transport crate. The remainder of the fee will be paid once you pick up the dog. Naturally the 100.00 comes off the total owed at pick up. It will be refunded if for any reason you decide you do not want to adopt, unless the transport has already left.with the dog. To get a application please go to: saveapreciouspaw@gmail.com

Story
Thank you for your interest in adopting Jasmine! Jasmine lives in an Alabama Foster Home and will transport north when she is adopted. She could be in your home as early as November 21. If you adopt Jasmine, you will speak with her foster family, FaceTime, and learn more about your puppy. Jasmine is approximately 12 weeks old. She weighs 19 pounds. We consider her a German Shepherd mix. She was found stray and no one looked for her. She has not had an easy start, but her rescue hopefully makes up for that. Jasmine is happy she’s rescued. She enjoys her toys and finds security in her crate. She is highly food, motivated, which goes a long way when training. She’s good with dogs of all ages. She’s submissive and a little shy at first meeting. We think she’d be good with cats and can have her cat tested. Her coat has a darker brindle pattern that could change some. Jasmine’s adoption includes spay, rabies, multiple puppy vaccines, microchip, multiple deworming, and she receives parasite prevention. Total Adoption fee $585, includes transportation( $175) and a health certificate for travel from a licensed Vet ($65). Serious adopters should fill out the application online. Story
Meet Cooper Cooper is a stunning and wonderful purebred 3.5 year old GSD. He came from a junk yard two years ago. He is an escape artist. He would do best with a single owner, and could use a job, sport, or some sort of work. He would excel at any assigned task. Cooper was adopted a year ago but sadly, his owner unfortunately experienced medical issues that required him to surrender Cooper back to Lincoln/Cumberland shelter. We met and assessed Cooper, who reminded me a lot of my son's retired military working dog. He will take a bit of time to warm up to a new person, but once he has, in the case of the shelter staff, he is happy and playful. We prefer an adopter to have GSD or Malinois experience. He is not a famly-type pet. Cooper needs a person who understands this type of dog and he needs. His hips look great, and we saw no concerning behaviors. Thank you for choosing rescue.
