Story
**All dogs are by appointment only, please inquire through Petfinder, Adopt-a-pet, Rescueme.org or e-mail us directly at shelter@hbpets.org for the dogs questionnaire*** Hi, I am Max, approx. 4yrs old, neutered male, German Shepard/Husky Mix. My old owner took wonderful care of me, but their lives changed, and I found myself at this amazing shelter, who have taken wonderful care of me. The shelter team is shocked I have been here a year, waiting for my new owner. They want you to know that I know all the basic commands, I rarely jump, I am a 100% housebroken, my energy level is laid-back, I love walking the field everyday with the team, I love to play with the toys briefly, but I am not longer full of that young energy. I love dogs, but I don't want to live with them (I am possessive over toys with other dogs), nor cats. I love all adult and children, I am a gentle giant, who wants a real home with a comfy bed. My adoption fee is $200

Story
Hi there, I’m Charli! I’m a bright, lovable girl with a silly streak and a whole lot of heart. I’m on the lookout for my forever person — someone who appreciates a mix of fun, smarts, and snuggles. I enjoy staying active, but I’m not an all-day athlete. Give me a good game of chase in the yard or a nice walk, and I’m one happy pup. When I’m excited, my whole body wiggles — it’s kind of my signature move. I absolutely LOVE affection. If you’re handing out pets, belly rubs, or sweet words, I’m your girl. Cuddling at the end of the day is one of my favorite things, and when you tell me I’m a “good girl,” I glow with pride. I’m great with kids, though I’m a bit of an enthusiastic goof, so very small kiddos might get gently toppled in my excitement. I’d also love a dog buddy who matches my energy and size. With slow, proper introductions, I’ve done really well with my foster family’s dogs. I’m respectful with the little ones, a little too playful for the cats (I mean well!), and I especially adore playing chase with the dog who’s my size. After a good run, I’m able to settle down and focus like a champ. I do best when I have routines and structure — they help me keep all my happy energy in check so I can shine my brightest. I’m affectionate, goofy, eager to please, and full of life. If you’re looking for a loyal sidekick with a big heart and an even bigger wiggle, I just might be your girl.

Story
Thor is a purebred German Shepherd with papers. He is 5 years old, weighs approximately 101 pounds, and is full of energy. Thor is very active, walking and running the land regularly. He has a beautiful. He is a well-trained and well-behaved male dog who knows basic commands such as sit and stay, and he listens very well. Thor has a wonderful temperament and is truly a sweetheart. He has been part of our family since our children were infants and has always been gentle and trustworthy with them. As our lives have become increasingly busy, with more travel for both work and pleasure than in previous years, we feel we can no longer give Thor the amount of time, attention, and engagement he truly deserves. This decision is not easy, but it comes from a place of love and wanting what is best for him. We are hoping to find Thor a home where he will have more time, activity, and companionship—ideally with someone who understands the needs of an energetic German Shepard.

Story
911 FOSTER /HOME Sushi…aka…Sasha ❤️ needs a home. Someone that has German Shepherd knowledge. She is a very sweet young female German Shepherd. She is more on the submissive side. Fine with other dogs a little fearful at times, no aggression. Fearful of men. She was a stray at the shelter and was shutting down and is now in a foster home. Unfortunately the Foster Home is unable to provide the care she needs. German shepherds are very loyal and an amazing breed, they just need the right Home to love her and let her settle in. If you can provide either a Foster or adoptive home, please apply at www.hopeshavenfriends.org

Story
**All dogs are by appointment only, please inquire through Petfinder, Adopt-a-pet, Rescueme.org or e-mail us directly at shelter@hbpets.org for the dogs questionnaire*** **Requirements another dog in the home, fenced backyard*** Millie (spayed) and Spud (neutered) 1yrs old, Dutch Shepard, Boxer, Pit mixes. They came from a animal hoarding property, their sister Chili was more than ready for a home alone, these two would prefer a home with another confident, sweet dog. Millie loves playing with many of our dogs here, she has learned so much and is becoming a brave girl, it does take her time to warm up to people. She loves other dogs, from Pitbulls to huskies to German Shepard's to little terriers, smaller to larger, he loves them all. She would flourish in a home with another dog who is brave, confident and gentle in nature. From her adopter she needs patience, time for her to acclimate, a fenced backyard, no young kids or loud adults, her hoarding home was very loud with over 15 dogs and a lot of people. She just needs a chance a gentle human and dog buddy, like she has here with us. My adoption fee is $250
