Foxy is a sweet beautiful little sweetie, about 40 lbs, who loves to play. Very dog-friendly. If your dog is looking for a friend, she's your girl! Foxy loves stuffy toys, playing tug-of-war with a rope, and playing fetch (although she's still learning to bring it back!) She's very intelligent and learns quickly. She is shy with new people, but if you're patient and give her treats you'll be all set. Foxy was found by one of our rescue volunteers in a trap! Her other dog friends were waiting with her and very concerned. The whole group was taken in by Friends Fur Life Rescue and they are getting training to be the best pups they can be. Foxy has been living in a foster home with large and small dogs, two school-age children, and a cat, and she's doing great! She hasn't quite made friends with the cat though yet lol. Foxy does well in the car, sleeps well in her crate at night, and knows to potty outside. She is still working on leash training, and she's coming out of her shell. Will you show her what a real family is like? We would love to speak with you! We can drive this pup to your area! If you like this cutie please send us an inquiry here and we'll give you a call and video chat with the pup! Here's the link: www.friendsfurliferescue.org/adoption-application Please copy/paste the above link into your browser ^ There is NO transport fee, or any extra fees. All is included in the adoption fee. YES we also adopt to CANADA! Thank you! We're looking forward to your inquiry!

Story
🐾 MERLOT is a beautiful, friendly Shepherd mix puppy that we were told was born 10/3/25, which would make her about 6.5 months old at the time of her listing, She has some plaque buildup that makes us wonder if they might have been off by a month or two, but she's def in that range. Right now she's about 29 lbs and fully vetted. She's more red than she looks in some of these early pics. Super sweet, smart as a whip, and friendly. She's great with other dogs and with cats. She and her siblings hadn't been exposed to leash walking, but they're picking it up quickly and all seem to be very food motivated. They're learning housetraining basics at their fosters, as well, but as we said super smart and also very motivated by food and to please. We'll update with more pics and info as we get them from her foster. 👉 Adoption fee INCLUDES: all vetting to age (including deworming, flea & tick etc), spay/neuter and microchip (if the dog is under 6 months, alter and chip will occur after they're 6 months, covered in full at our clinic or reimbursed partially at a vet of your choosing). If the dog is older than 6 months and not yet altered, we will schedule ASAP (normally within 30 days) at our clinic . We also provide as an incentive a $60 rebate for completion of positive-based training classes. Adoption also includes lifetime support of the rescue. 💜 Please click PURPLE BUTTON above to apply or go to www.secondhanddogrescue.com/apply and be sure to choose their name from the dropdown to expedite your application!! ✍ APPLICATION PROCESSING: We do most application processing virtually and dog meets will be individually by appointment with ONLY APPROVED APPLICANTS. We are not a shelter and are completely volunteer foster-based, so there is no central place to come see all of the dogs available. 📌 IMPORTANT NOTES: ** Housetraining with rescues is sometimes a work in progress and even if a dog is 100% in a foster's home, it should be expected there will be an adjustment period as a dog adapts to a new environment. This is even more true if the dog has not by chance had their altering appointment at time of adoption. ** Also, we highly recommend some form of 2-week shutdown and decompression for dogs going to a new home for best results. --> Lastly, breed guesses in rescue are just that (GUESSES!!) 99.9% of the time. We do not do DNA testing and our breed guesses are based on appearance and sometimes other traits, but we know the dog breed guessing game is a fool's errand even for those with LOTS of experience. 🗺 ADOPTION AREA: several hour radius of Rochester, NY (Canada within 3 hours IS allowed, except that young puppies need to be old enough to have gotten their rabies vaccination to cross the border - usually around 16 weeks)

Meet WAFFLES, (aka Waffy-WooWoo by her foster) a sweet and loving older Shepherd mix who has captured the hearts of everyone she meets. She is a huge rescue volunteer favorite. Waffles is a well-behaved pup who is crate and house trained, and knows her commands. She loves to observe the world from the comfort of her dog bed. Waffles is a smart girl who would love a home where she can connect and bond with her human. She is a loyal and loving pup who will always be by your side. Waffles, while good with people and most other dogs while at home, she is what's called leash-reactive, which means she does NOT do well with people, animals, cars, you name it - while out and about and on walks around the neighborhood. Anything fast-moving. (She does love car RIDES, though!) For this reason, she needs a fenced in yard and would enjoy being more of a homebody where she won't get anxious while on a leash. (the fenced in yard just to block out the outside world more than contain her, because believe it our not, Waffles can jump a 7' fenced! So even with the fence, she'll need to be put out on a tie-out) Being reactive to fast, unpredictable things, younger kids would be a no for her too, just to be safe. However, once she gets to know you, her tail never stops wagging and she is all about belly rubs and playtime. Waffles is an active girl who loves to run and play outside, but also enjoys sunbathing and stretching out on a grassy area after her daily workout. She seems good with other relatively calm dogs. She's protective of her home and is best crated as guests are arriving to make a smoother transition - we can talk to you more about that as it's easily manageable. Waffles comes with a sponsored adoption fee of only $100 for the right adopter. ** She's also available as a part of our new Forever Foster program, where we can place her with an approved applicant as a member of their family at no cost, and we will cover all her vetting - regular, emergency, preventatives, vaccines - for life, as well as extra supports like transportation to appointments, and "boarding" if needed for vacations, FOR LIFE! Ask for more details.** 👉 Adoption fee INCLUDES: all vetting to age (including deworming, flea & tick etc), spay/neuter and microchip (if the dog is under 6 months, alter and chip will occur after they're 6 months, covered in full at our clinic or reimbursed partially at a vet of your choosing). Introducing GIGI, the one-of-a-kind canine companion with a heart full of love! With her striking appearance that hints at a captivating mix of Schnauzer, German Shepherd, or maybe even a Belgian Lakenois, Gigi is truly a beauty to behold. Once she gets to know you, she forms an unbreakable bond and becomes your most loyal and devoted companion. Ideal placement for GiGi is in a low-traffic home - No busy apartment buildings or townhomes, and with minimal company in and out. She can become protective and territorial over her people and space. However, there's nothing quite like the feeling of Gigi's unwavering affection and devotion, as she showers her chosen humans with endless love and adoration. From cuddle sessions on the couch to joyous playtimes in the backyard, Gigi will be your steadfast partner when you're home. When new people DO come over, she can be crated initially and introductions done in a controlled way which we can talk to you about and does work well. But she's a wonderful dog for someone who is more of a homebody and wants to enjoy their dog at home and not out and about. GiGi would do well with a consistent routine with her people. Gigi needs a home as an ONLY DOG and NO KIDS (and no cats or other animals). With Gigi by your side, you'll never have a dull moment, as she delights in discovering new tricks and challenges that engage her inquisitive mind. She's fully vetted and in the 60-70 lbs range. She has a partially sponsored adoption fee of $100 OR, ** She's also available as a part of our new Forever Foster program, where we can place her with an approved applicant as a member of their family at no cost, and we will cover all her vetting - regular, emergency, preventatives, vaccines - for life, as well as extra supports like transportation to appointments, and "boarding" if needed for vacations, FOR LIFE! Story
🐾 CAESAR is a gorgeous 3 year old GSD male who is now fully vetted and was a local surrender whose family didn't have the time to devote to him and getting the exercise and enrichment he needed. They reported him as good with all other dogs and people including kids, but we've found it's a bit more complicated than that. He does need a lot of exercise and things to keep him busy, but we've found he can get aroused/worked up very easily and needs help bringing himself back down. His foster is working hard on things with him and using a stick or other things to self-calm down especially when out playing so he doesn't get so mouthy. He has not been interacting directly with their other dog yet. That's why we currently have him down as unknown for whether he's good with dogs and cats and kids at this point. What he needs is an adopter or even foster-to-adopt with breed experience and a willingness to bring out his best. His current foster just raves about him - he loves water and enjoys being outside a lot. If the dog is older than 6 months and not yet altered, we will schedule ASAP (normally within 30 days) at our clinic . We also provide as an incentive a $60 rebate for completion of positive-based training classes. Adoption also includes lifetime support of the rescue. 💜 Please click PURPLE BUTTON above to apply or go to www.secondhanddogrescue.com/apply ! 🗺ADOPTION AREA: Several hour radius of Rochester, NY (Canada within 3hrs IS allowed), except the young puppies need to be old enough to have gotten their rabies vaccination in order to cross the border- usually around 16 weeks).

Story
FARLEY was adopted out late last year and just returned because his owner lost their housing and are unable to take him with them. He's a "big doofus" and loves people including kids, and enjoys other dogs, too. He's a shepherd mix and is a year and a half old and right around 60 lbs. He's fully vetted and ready for adoption! 6/24/25 He just had the bad luck of being adopted and returned AGAIN through no fault of his own - he loves all dogs but the resident dog there wasn't a fan of Farley. 🤪 One other thing to note about Farley if you have neighbors with dogs he might see through a fence - although he is great WITH other dogs, he is NOT great seeing other dogs on the other side of a fence. Face to face and playing - fine! Across a barrier, he goes crazy barking and looks like a different dog. Story
Have you ever seen a big doggy PUPPY? Well if you saw my pics, you have NOW! I have a perpetual puppy face, so very cute! I am a great boy, a busy boy and I would LOVE a busy family too!! I came to the rescue ALMOST 4 YEARS AGO! And all my family has already been adopted but I am still waiting............................................ And I am not sure WHY, except I am a smart and busy boy. I would do best in a single dog home...one great thing about me is...you don't have to trudge me to the dog park.... i prefer to be at home with YOU. I am good with cats too!! Now, if you know the Belgian Malinois breed you will know that exercising my body is good, but it just makes me stronger and have more stamina ;) So you have to ALSO exercise my brain- that is the way to wear me out ;) Doggy puzzles, wearing a weighted backpack, all kinds of ways to do that! I love to be challenged and to LEARN what you want me to do to be your new bestest friend!! I want a really nice family who will hike, bike, run, swim with me too! I have a heart of gold and am ready to shine it right on your family, ADOPT ME!!! Local adoption fee is $200 (in TX) Out of state adoption fee is $450 (includes transport to your area)
