Story
Our pets are physically located and fostered in NC until adopted. Once adopted we can transport to you. We have a cost effective transporter that has stops in most north eastern states. She runs every 2 weeks. Please note! Don't just apply just because she has a cheap adopt fee. You must prove you can afford to adopt regardless! I find that most of the folks who apply for my reduced fee dogs back out when they realize they are still responsible for the transport fee. If this applies to you please don't waste our time!Scarlett was born 2-1-21. Her mom was a german shepherd golden mix. We are not positive what dad was. Scarlett is active and very loving. She is good with people and ok with other dogs her size. She is too playful for small dogs. She needs a large dog only home. She is NOT good with cats. She needs an active home with room to run. She would not do well in a cramped up apartment with no exercise. She is house trained and crate trained,This baby will go home spayed and current on vaccinations, deworming, flea preventives, started on heartworm prevention and microchipped. This pup will receive a health certificate issued by our vet prior to going home. The adopter will get all his health records with the adoption. We require a prescreen application to apply. You can get that on our main website at www.saveamuttkennel.net

Story
Our pets are fostered and physically located in NC until adopted. Once adopted we can deliver to your location or one of our north eastern delivery locations. We have a transporter who delivers north ever other week. Sheldon came from a local shelter. They were over full and he was in danger of being euthanized. He is a german shepherd mix. The vet said he is around 2 years old( as of 6-22-23). He is a tall lanky dog, around 65 to 70 pounds. He is a sweet boy and very affectionate. He needs a home with room to run. He is energetic and would need an adopter who can embrace it. He will make THE BEST hiking buddy ever. He likes water to. He would be best in a home where he can be the only dog. If he can't be an only dog he needs a home with a large breed submissive female. He would also do well with puppies. He is doing well with crate training and house training. He will go to his new home current on vaccines, testing, preventives, neutered and microchipped. He will receive a complete physical by our vet prior to going home. He will also be issued a certificate of Health. The adopter will get all the health records with adoption. We require a pre screen application to adopt. You can get that on our website at www.saveamuttkennel.net

Adoption Application: https://www.cognitoforms.com/New2URescues/AdoptionApplication ********If dog/pup is showing as available it is available. Please do not email asking if it is. Submit application to meet dog if interested - yes an application is required******** Meet Bandit aka Benny! He has been sponsored so has a reduced adoption fee. All vet care is done and current. This beautiful baby is looking for his furever home! He is 80 lbs. born 12/27/2020 and is SUCH a love bug He loves to give kisses, get scratches, go on brisk walks/hikes, is very obedient, and knows his commands (very well once you stimulate him enough). He is high energy and does amazing with long lead strolls, constructive loose leash walks, and working on his commands. Benny is doing ok with cats, although at this time we wouldn't recommend a home with them. I am currently helping him understand the boundaries associated with other animals; he is excitable, curious, playful, but also quite nervous and reserved. It is clear humans have not always had a kind hand with him, but he is quickly learning to trust and let go of that. His experiences with cats and dogs were very limited before coming into rescue. He is all puppy and just wants to play, though doesn’t know boundaries and isn’t experienced. If the animal shows signs of correcting him or reacts, he overreacts out of fear and can easily make a mistake. Again, he is learning the rules very quickly and beginning to respect boundaries as a whole, but will need someone who will continue teaching him! Benny would do best in a home without other animals, however he could do well depending on personality, temperament, and owner experience. If you would like to meet this adorable dog an application must be filled out https://www.cognitoforms.com/New2URescues/AdoptionApplication We are in Rochester, NY, we adopt to people who live in the Rochester area. We do not ship our dogs and require home visits. Must live in area to adopt, will not respond to out of area/country requests. Additionally we require physically fenced yard for dog/pup to play in safely. Exceptions are sometimes made to this requirement but is up to the foster and more often done for the small breed dogs. All our dogs have been treated with dewormer; heartworm tested (if age appropriate -7 mths or older); treated for fleas/ticks; microchipped; and examined by veterinarian plus given age appropriate vaccinations. We take every effort to ensure the health of the animal and you will receive a copy of all vet work performed at time of adoption. Dogs will be spayed/neutered thru us prior to finalizing any adoption. We provide information on dogs age and breed based on what we are told by person surrendering dog or vet's best guess. While we try our best we cannot guarantee that this information is 100% accurate and can often be best guess in case of our lovable mutts. You can learn more about our rescue and process at www.new2urescue.org or find us on facebook at https://www.facebook.com/New2Urescue. You must be 25 yrs of age or older to adopt through us. We are in the Rochester NY area and adopt dogs out to area residents. We are registered in NY State with the Dept of Agriculture RR #033 and a registered 501c3 Non-Profit.

Story
Gunner has been with us for 11 years. He also has a clean bill of health from vet recently. I also have an 11 year old daughter and 9year old son he grew up with. However we are relocating to an RV and do not have the space for him. He is super obedient, great off leash and protector of all kinds of pets and obviously grew up around all kinds of kids and people. Too good to be true? Come meet him! Oh he does occasionally bark as he has a bit of hound in him. So a good protector of the home cause it is only when people come around the house but he will meet you and bark as he wags his tail helicopter mode and then lick ya to death.

Story
Bailey is a great protector and is very loyal. She is very high energy and needs lots of room to run and play. Bailey is great with kids but her high energy can be too much for smaller children (crawling age to about 5yrs old). She gets along with other dogs for the most part but was attacked by a Rottweiler as a puppy so that breed has always been a trigger for her. No health issues or major injuries. Bailey is sensitive to “chicken” in dog foods.

Story
When I got her I was told she was potty trained the lady said she could not keep her and she was beautiful. I was also told she was good with other pets. She was neither potty trained nor good with other animals. I was told she has seperation anxiety and would need to be in a kennel while not home because she chews on things. I figured not a big deal because she was less than 2 years old. She just turned 2. About a month ago she became aggressive with my older little dog. She attacked her and now my little dog only has one eye. Could have been the the eye was just scratched or hit by a tooth. I have no idea about little people it took her a few hours to warm up to my 16 year old when he came for the weekend. she lives in the kennel except when I take her outside to go to the bathroom, eat and drink. She has always been sweet as pie to me. She barks a lot when people walk by or knock. I have the kennel and toys 2 leashes a harness and a collar. Ask me anything

Story
Skid is currently in a foster home at a rescue in Oklahoma. We are looking for a home in a state where people treat their animals well. He has to be prepaid and picked up directly from transport from one of the cities listed at the bottom. If things don't work out for some reason, which rarely ever happens, she will go back to Oklahoma on our next transport until a new home is found. -Skid is a male, possibly Dutch Shepherd/Plott Hound mix and is around 20 months old. ~55-60 pounds -Tested Heartworm Negative December 11th. -He came into the shelter of July 2023 as a puppy and deserves more than life in a shelter. He is our longest term resident and deserves a home for Christmas. He was homeless last Christmas. -Skid does well with other dogs. -He has been to multiple public events and seems to do well with children. -He loves people as well and walks well on a leash. -Can be a tad shy at first but warms up quickly. -He loves to take toys into his doghouse in his kennel and play with them. -Walks well on a leash. -He was just professionally groomed and did a great job! -Video of Skid: https://youtube.com/shorts/IWq1HqJdjnw?feature=share Skid is neutered, vaccinated (Rabies, DHLPP, Bordetella), has been dewormed, a negative heartworm test, on monthly flea/tick/HW prevention. Story
Blitz…or as we call her …Blitz-a-rooni is the total package. She was found on the streets in horrific shape …mange and secondary skin infections which actually left her unidentifiable as a breed…one in a home and understanding no one was going to hurt her she quickly flourished. The beautiful part of the mange is meds and quality nutrition healed her physically in no time…almost to where she doesn’t even look like the same dog…then she learned the ins and outs of a home and sharing life with other 2 legged and 4 legged…she figured out fluffy blankets right away and determined they were a definite requirement in her home…LOL She had resource guarding of her food which was not real issue as we feed our dogs in crate …but she also does very well with getting treats etc or even the shared ice cube in our home. I don’t blame her for being a little selfish when it comes to food..as it was evident she had to be protective to survive. She has turned out to be a definite chug butt ..solid and smaller in stature she is a briick of love. We have 3 Malinois and my husband kept saying she looks mal and I did not agree lol so we did a DNA and I’ll be darned if she isn’t 50 percent Belgian Malinois…What I see in this is a smart girl…but without the anxiety of the mal breed…which is a huge blessing I feel like she is the bestt of all her breeds …lol..she is fabulous in crate…I simply tell her to go to her room and she doesn’t make a peep. She is a bit of a Velcro dog and just wants to be with her person. She is easy on leash and would be amazing to work and train. Her activity level is moderate and she gets definite zoomies…does great with all my dogs but is best with dogs her size or larger. Her prey drive for smaller is intact. She loves kids but I always recommend with the power and intelligence older kids. She has definitely found her diva side…loving all things soft, blankets, rugs, towels, all things stuffy toys and if you are close by she will snuggle right in. The only thing she doesn’t like is when in crate and you are a stranger and you stare at her…but out of crate loves with all her chunkiness. Local adoption fee is $250 (in TX) Out of state adoption fee is $500 (includes transport to your area - $50 Temporary Fuel Charge will be added)
